What would it take to get Ramon Hernandez

I know that his contract is horrible, but if we can get them to eat some of that contract, he is a very clutch hitter, and I think a pretty good defensive catcher. What kind of package would it take to get Hernandez?

Ramon's contract is an albatross, and his numbers are similar to Estrada's.

I'm all for improving any position, but so far, every C is either not as good or about the same, and the ones that are similar have warts, like Ramon's mammoth deal.

He is a very good hitter w/ risp, and he actually takes walks, his contract is not as bad as I thought it would be. He signed a 4 year 27 million contract. So he makes 6-7 million a year, and he only has two seasons left on it. I think he might me worth it if he can come anywhere close to his 06' season, plus he is much better defensively than Estrada.

yoshii, I had similar thoughts a while ago, and mentioned Hernandez. Many people quickly made it obvious to me that I was incorrect. Doa is correct, Hernandez is simply not much of an upgrade over Estrada (if at all).

Those numbers don't look very encouraging to me. If they acquired him Estrada would be gone most likely as Ramon would start everyday, or would want to start everday. Then your right back to square one, only with an older catcher who could easily do worse than Estrada.
