Riske close to being a Brewer? (Possible announcement midweek)

I know that there are a few players on the 40-man roster that no one would notice if they were DFA'd, but why DFA them if you don't have too?

 

Exactly. To me it seems clear that the Brewers are hoping to make a two for one or three for two deal to help clear a roster space without making an additional one to make room for Riske. It would seem that the Rolen deal is the one they're waiting on, and I wouldn't be surprised if Melvin has a plan B set in place with some other team, probably involving Capuano and possibly Mench, that would accomplish the same thing.

It will be nice to have this official. I just wish there were a trade coming to clear roster spots. I am really looking forward to seeing how things play out. This team is far from done.
