off of that list i would like to see nick swisher on the brewers roster. i love swisher, but however it is very unlikely. Brad Hawpe, Garret anderson, luke Scott... i like all of them, but i don't like the Scott rolen idea so i would like to see us aquire a left fielder through a trade that is low risk and a player who will get on base... i really don't like the scott rolen trade at all. I think we could do better.

I'd like someone to ask melvin why the Fuentes deal isn't going to happen? Is it because that would make it too easy? Is there something we don't know about?

At this point, the obvious answer is he already has a deal for Capuano, pending medical issues and money.

My guess is Colorado wants too much for Fuentes. He flat out said, 'that is not going to happen" so that tells me talks on making Fuentes a Brewer went no where. They obviously weren't even the same ball park.

I would want alot for Fuentes if i'm the Rockies, he's a key cog in their pen and it's not like they are a rebuilding team desperate to shed salary. Maybe they would consider trading him, but they certainly have no big need to move him.

From what I recall, Fuentes seemed to fall out of favor with the Rockies this year. He only pitched 23 2/3 innings after the all-star game (he pitched well in that time). I don't think it's as much as the Rockies wanting Fuentes on their team as it is the fact that they probably can ask for a lot based on his 1.52 ERA after the all-star game. I remember when he was selected for the all-star game it was almost a joke because at that time he lost his closing gig with the Rockies.

Fuentes enjoyed his time with Appleton let's bring him to Milwaukee...at a good price trade wise.

He was on the DL quite a bit, he pitched well all year, except for a week long stretch when he was "pitching through it".

Capuano is pretty solid value in return for a RP. Especially considering the defense that'd be playing behind him.

Maybe this should be a different topic, but does anyone else not want/fear Scott Rolen on the Brewers? I don't see him adding a whole lot. He's made of glass and his bat isn't that great anymore.

 

He once looked like a HOF at 3rd, but not anymore.
