Rangers drop out of Prior chase

The Rangers were one of the teams going the hardest after Prior...... so for a team that really wanted him and really needs pitching to drop out suddenly could mean they have found a pitcher for their rotation through a trade....

 

Lets see.... Brewers actively looking at Hank Blalock.....hmmmm could there be something there or did they just pull out for other reasons?

Interesting point, e04ss. If they're looking for SPing, and we're looking for a 3B solution, it seems a natural proposition. Once the SP FAs are locked up with their (new) teams, I'd expect Melvin & Co. to really get busy.

thats odd, as much as Id like to say its meaning something is up... and knowing how Melvin is always so coy about trades moves etc.. but unfortuantly we could just be reading too much into it again

oh yeah I probably am...maybe they heard his price demands... and they said NO... but you never know... I just saw that and first thing I thought of was Maybe they are not in the Market because they got the Stud known as Claudio Vargas....lol...

I thought I read that all of the interested teams already looked at the Records last week or so...I could be wrong, but with 12 teams going after him I am sure most of the clubs have seen his records and did not get that scared off yet...

The Rangers just sound like one of the first interested teams to realize that overpaying for the < 10% chance that Prior can ever again be an effective MLB pitcher just isn't worth it.
