  1. Well, word now is they'll take him as a 2B, but will move him to CF if the 2B thing doesn't work out.
  2. The point is moot..... The Brewers will be drafting Rickie Weeks, assuming Tampa Bay does not.... Anyone wanna wager?
  3. What i've heard is that Dillard signed for more then 50k, but less than Dana Eveland did (I don't know Dana's bonus offhand, and we'll let Mike keep it private). So the initial report seems to have been erroneous.... maybe 60,000, but surely not 600,000. It's been reported that Dillard would have had the best sinkerball in the draft this year, so that's why they signed him.... the sinker seems to be inline with Melvin's new reasoning.... i'll touch on that in the major league forum.

  8. Beloit 3, Battle Creek (Yankees) 1 Sarfate on the ball again..... Allison on in relief.... 3 outs to go for the win..... Bo Hall on for the save, gives up a first pitch solo HR..... Bo Hall with the save.... Dennis Sarfate with 7 innings of shutout ball, is an offically "a machine". Steve Moss the offensive star with a bases loaded single (2 rbi) in the 1st, and a 2-out rbi single in the 2nd. MID FINAL R H E - - - BELOIT 3 6 0 BATTLE CREEK 1 9 2
  9. Anyone got the data on these two?.... i gotta enter them both.
  10. .....giving his thoughts on the draft and the Brewers. Tune in!
  11. Adam Mannon Player Profile: www.brewerfan.net/ViewPla...ayerId=545 Anyone know a birthdate?
  12. Mike, can I get a birthplace and birthdate for Dana?
  13. Mike, you've been a brewerfan family member for quite a while now, but welcome aboard, officially..... GREAT NEWS!
  14. Actually, we received word on Parra in the wee hours of the morning (i think I got an email at like 3:00 am).
  15. I sent an email off to Doug Melvin... It'll be interesting to see if I get a reply on the topic...
  16. Sign Eveland and Mannon?...... hello? Mrs. Pommelhorse?.... hello?
  17. If Battle's available in round 2, you HAVE to take him. His name is BATTLE.
  18. Brewers sign LHP Kenny Loggins to a minor league deal, and assign him to High Desert: Sports-Wired.com player profile: www.kennyloggins.com/main.html
  19. 2. BREWERS. If the Orioles are unable to sign Loewen, their first-round pick a year ago, his line of suitors will begin with the Brewers. Loewen's price tag has been rumored as high as $6 million, but Milwaukee needs power arms and there isn't a pitcher on the board with a higher upside than the 6-foot-6 lefthander. Brewers general manager Doug Melvin and assistant GM Gord Ash have Canadian roots and would like to add the highest-drafted Canadian ever, even if they have to wait out Loewen all summer. In the unlikely event that Loewen signs with Baltimore, the Brewers would consider Weeks or possibly righthander Tim Stauffer. PROJECTED PICK: Adam Loewen.
  20. Lansing (Cubs) 1 - Beloit 0 I had the distinct pleasure of attending this game with several other brewerfan.net users, and it turned out to be quite a pitching performance by Dennis Sarfate. Unfortunately, a solo shot was given up and the Snappers lost 1-0 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
  21. [ Another parent in attendance but I was unable to make out which one he was affiliated with...I thought I overheard something about Arizona....so that would narrow it down to Wilhelmsen, Hinton, and Sarfate. ] Given that someone named "John Wilhelmsen" signed up for a fanfest ticket, i'd have to believe it was Tom Wilhelmesen's pop.
  22. [ Thank goodness he meets our model citizen standards. I'd hate to win with guys that I'd hesitate to take home to Mom. ] http://espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/5073.jpg http://espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/5992.jpg http://espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/6508.jpg http://www.santanatech.com/students/carl/images/t1_caminiti_canseco_all-01.jpg It's no doubt that off the field problems can affect on-field play. Why risk it?... there's a big difference as well between "can be pretentious at times" and "criminal" and "sexual deviant that scares off teammates"
  23. Wow.... Let's just say Brian Adams is what Mike Nicolas ain't: www.athletesinchrist.org/....cfm?tid=3
  24. Final: Huntsville 10, West Tenn (Cubs) 4 Looks like Mike Jones's unearned run streak may have come to an end. Hopefully the kids can get some revenge on the Cubs' system for the big league squad.
