  1. That's basically the best the Brewers can hope for: an RBI groundout.
  2. Got something cooking here, how will this team blow it?
  3. I'm not negative now, well, I am.. but it's mainly sarcasm. I'll be truly negative when they're completely out of the playoff picture but rattle off a winning second half so they pick in the top 15 rather than the top 5. It's probably pretty hard to tank games on purpose, but it's my hope that if they're out of it that they give some younger guys a shot and the process should just naturally happen. I doubt that's how it will go, and I'll really drum up some negativity.
  4. Yeah, it'll clear out money for Mark A to sign another aging pitcher. Hooray.
  5. No kidding. We get it, you guys were upset about it.. great. But now it's like they couldn't get over it and they started the season with that collapse on their mind and allowed all that crap to continue. There's really not much that's encouraging about this team other than it looks like Segura is putting together a nice start, and Nelson looks like he's a nice piece at the moment, too, rather than just a 5 starter at best.
  6. I don't think I can remember seeing a group of hitters who have shown to be at least average look so completely baffled at the plate. It's almost like the Brewers are batting 9 pitchers.
  7. Well, now they have no shot to win this game. Top of the order now and I'm guessing an 8 pitch inning for Locke; with a single by Segura in the middle.
  8. Lucroy might need a day off to clear his head. Yikes. *Note - I still think he's a good hitter before someone creates a strawman argument out of the above comment.
  9. I think anyone trying to make comparisons about how such and such championship team started slow, too, is silly. Going into this season, the best we thought the Brewers could do was hopefully stay healthy and compete for a playoff spot. As constructed, this is not a championship caliber team so those comparisons really should stop any day now. Losing isn't really the surprising thing. The surprising thing - though this shouldn't surprise me - is that the funk they were in at the end of the year has carried into this year. I kind of figured we'd see .500 ball this season, and we still very well could, but holy smokes is this ugly.
  10. Seems like the Brewers scratch and clawed for one run, only to have it gone in the first two batters. The Pirates plate Polanco here and I think I'll be ready to call it. lol
  11. Ryan Braun is leading off?! Was sort of hoping that Aramis would get the day off, but maybe that will come tomorrow.
  12. We'll just agree to disagree. Ian Desmond is having a brutal defensive season so far; it's like he's got the yips with all-things fielding.
  13. I just wanted to say I appreciate all the threads and posts following the minor leagues. I find myself checking them much more frequently now that the MLB Brewers are, well, disappointing. Thanks for all the work you do, Mass.
  14. I don't see anything dirty about it. It was late but he went right at the bag, cleats down, and didn't hook or grab at Escobar's legs. It would be nice to see more of the Brewers do something like that instead of the usual ho-hum, passive, aw-shucks we suck attitude they have. CarGo is the only one I can see going hard into second like that. What angle did you see? His cleat was up and hit Escobar right in the leg. I'm not saying it was intentional, but his cleat was definitely up and not down at the bag. http://m.mlb.com/video/v78171283/oakkc-hard-slide-injures-escobar-benches-clear/?affiliateId=clubMEGAMENU I'm not sure you can watch the angle from LF and see Lawrie's foot up and not call it dirty. Again, doubt he was trying to injur Escobar but you don't slide with your cleat up. Had there been a take out slide and he kept his cleat down then I don't think it's an issue. It was an ugly slide.
  15. Here are a few more ugly more stats 1. Jason Rogers in his one at bat has more extra base hits than Braun has so far. 2. Rogers and Hector Gomez have more extra base hits in only 9 at bats than Lucroy/Braun/Ramirez do combined. 3. Maldonado in only 4 at bats has drawn as many walks as Braun and Ramirez have combined. 4. Our 9 million dollar reliever Broxton has given up only one less home run than the whole offense has hit combined.
  16. I think we're going to be disappointed. The only players who can get back some legit prospects will be deemed untouchable, aside from Gomez (and he's not really untouchable at all).
  17. Brett Lawrie with a pretty dirty slide on Escobar. Pretty sure KC will drill him tomorrow.
  18. Thanks Parra for coming up with a 2-out hit and an RBI. The Brewers, as a team, are OPS'ing .601, and before this game had scored 23 runs (good for last in MLB). Ouch.
  19. 3-1? Feels more like 10-1 with the way the Brewers' offense is 'performing'.
