  1. My only piece of advice would be to buy a non-diamond. She seems like a great gal, and I'm sure would appreciate not having blood on her hands. It is possible to buy a non-conflict diamond though, just stay away from DeBeers.
  2. I didn't see this anywhere, and since it deserves it's own thread.. I caught this parady Sunday night. My favorite parts were with Jar Jar "Ani, Ani!" and part with after Vadar tells Luke he's his father. I just read that Lucas loved the idea, and also supplied his voice, along with Mark Hamill. Anyway, the whole thing is online: Robot Chicken: Star Wars Special
  3. Last I heard they were tearing down the upper decks, moving Monument Park to the new stadium, and turning the current Yankee Stadium into a community softball field. And the new is being built next to the old. There are progress pictures online if you're interested. Just to reiterate, you're missing a lot if you don't see Fenway or YS, and missing nothing for passing up that dump Shea. Colombian food should be the only reason you have to go to Queens.
  4. I still haven't gotten around to reading it. But since it's sitting in my apartment, and why not take another break from working on my Masters, I'm going to start it today. What can I say, you inspired me. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif Although I have a hard time believing it can be better than 100 Years. But I'll go in open-minded.
  5. I have to say that One Hudred Years of Solitude is probably the greatest fiction book ever written, but my favorite would either be Alice's Adventures in Wonderland or Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
  6. I saw knocked up last night. Really liked it, the humor was relatable. I thought it was better than 40-year old virgin.
  7. Breaking Brian's commandments...that's a paddlin'
  8. Ah, I have the same problem. Thanks for the thread, and answers.
  9. You'll see: Yankee Stadium >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Fenway
  10. OMG, dude. Just OMG. Hope everything works out Crazyk1294.
  11. Well first, I'm scarred from the 95 division series. But also something about him always rubbed me the wrong way. I know I shouldn't be suprised that a ballplayer is pampered and arrogant, but I don't appreciate it. For a recent example, I've read something from a scout who saw him sit down on second base twice during a minor league game. But seriously, I was a little haste in my previous post. No matter how much it kills me to say it, I'm glad to see him move up on the home run list, and if I can survive the Yanks getting Clemens back in 99, then I could survive the Brewers getting Griffey.
  12. What ever happened Crazyk1294? As someone who was an instructor, I cannot understand her actions.
  13. no, No, NO! Griffey is my least favorite player ever. I extremely dislike him. Even if we got him for a bag of balls, it would make me very, very sad to have to in a Brewers uniform.
  14. Is bf.net still planning a move? One of the features I like on Yuku is the ability to read the first line of the first post without opening the thread.
  15. Even though it'll be Madison's Men's team, Phil, Ryan and I should still be abled to play.
  16. I don't know if this is something the mods at bf.net could help me with, but whenever I send an ezmail, I recieve a screen that says 'Back' or 'Back to Community' or something like that. Well whenver I click on Back to Community it takes me to another forum I never used, I don't even know what's it about. How can I change it so that it goes back to bf.net? Thanks!
  17. I wanna post in the drunk thread, b/c I' reading bf.net and wassssted, amd people are making out and people are passed out, and ther's me= all down principessa, anyway......go brewers!!! so excited today was opening day..i don't care i'm drunk. i'm last one standing and a baseball fan! go yanks! go brewers! i'm drunk. sorryhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. OK, thanks, I'm gonna send you a message in a minute. But I knew that, and when I clicked on Brian the Automator's name it went to some yuku thing where I couldn't find 'send a message.' What's up with that, yo?
  19. OK, so I tried to ezmail you but couldn't figure it out. This yuku thing is confusing. Anyway, how can I send mods a message?
  20. I want to start a thread about having a Madison softball team. I know there is one already in the softball subforum, but this one would be about signing up, not interest. So my questions: Will the new thread be locked? And will it be okay to start it in the off-topic subforum? I was just thinking that if might not get seen in the softball subforum, and that after a day or two one of you fabulous moderators can then move it. Thanks, D Added to thread title to reflect the direction the thread has taken --1992casey
  21. Do you get their cable/internet service, or Charter? Because I'm not too happy that I finally move to WI and wasn't able to see the Brewers.
  22. Our problem is that the guys that would seem to be in our financial crosshairs -- Garciaparra, Drew -- for LF are proven performers (when healthy) who just had successful years. If Garciaparra were available for the price he got last year, then sure, go for him. These two guys have put up numbers in big markets before, so the 'can they handle the pressure' questions are moot. I wish either guy (esp. Drew) would be in our reality, but the Crew just can't afford to gamble at $12-14 mil / yr.
  23. Who would you propose to deal for Ensberg? This sounds intriguing. He only hit .235 last year, battling right shoulder injuries, but drew an astonishing 101 BB with 387 ABs (96 Ks as well). Even with his crummy BA (OBP = .396, OPS = ..859, career OPS = .858), his stats project to 31 HRs based on the 526 ABs he got in 2005. My main concern is that he's 30, and his 526 ABs in 2005 is by far the highest for his career. He didn't even play in 2001, and hasn't established the consisntent ability to play a full season. In my humble opinion, the best way for the Crew to improve at 3B is to give the job to Bill Hall, full-time. Unless we can deal for a proven, durable commodity there, of course. A guy like Ensberg sounds intriguing, but he has durability ?s
  24. Watch it on Jeter, man. Big Yankee fan here too. Especially Jeet. He may not be nice, but at least he backs it up. I'm so tired of everyone feeling sorry for A-Rod. He's a grown man, and needs to play the part. No more mental softness. Besides, he's not going anywhere, his "awful" year was still better than anyone in our colors Jeter said what needed to be said -- "What do you want me to say?" I agree Arod isn't going anywhere, and shouldn't. He has his demons, and as a Yankee fan I worry. But also as a Yankee fan I know that no matter how great a player Jeter is, (and yes he's our generation's DiMaggio- an unforgiving, bitter sonofabitch) he's hasn't been perfect either.
