  1. Do 'Maid of the Mist'! You get wet and it's a little time consuming but the view/experience is great. I loved it.
  2. If you're uncomfortable now, imagine how you'll feel in a year. And what if you want a friend to stay over? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I would save myself some headaches and get a futon or a cheaper mattress.
  3. Verlander's pickoff attempt. I like how Martinez looked at him afterwards.
  4. Well at first Hamilton said he was still angry and wouldn't apologize: "Dumb," Hamilton said Wednesday morning, speaking to news reporters. "People are going to blame who they want to blame. I threw him under the bus by telling the truth about what happened." but someone got to him because he did apologize: "I let my emotions get ahead of thinking things through," Hamilton said. "The more I think about it, the more I understand that I take responsibility for what happened because I had the choice not to go or the choice to go. I just appreciate Dave having confidence in my ability to think I could make that play." Or maybe the problem was the way you decided to slide? Anyway I'm not surprised or bothered he thinks like this but I'm shocked he didn't realize that he shouldn't have gone to the media with any of it. Whatever. Even though I was never enamored with The Josh Hamilton Story™, I do applaud him staying clean.
  5. Same here. ETA: I'm in the Fox Valley.
  6. I still drink, clap and munch when I keep score. I also get up to go to the bathroom and such, but it helps I always go to games with a boyfriend who enjoys keeping score for an inning or two. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I'm already invested in the game, but if you miss an at-bat it's not hard to figure out what happened and score accordingly. I know I'm not that strict. As far as what to do with scorebooks, I've never had one before but I bet it would be fun to look through at the end of the year. Especially since I see myself making little notes on the side. (e.g. Get a haircut Gomez!) And I knew I could count of my fellow bf.net-ers to appreciate my scorebook purchase!
  7. The Indians are having a "silent first pitch" for Bob Feller, in which his wife walks the ball from the mound. Very sweet.
  8. I'm a little excited about something but it totally makes me a dork - I bought a scorebook to keep score of all the games I go to this year.
  9. Thanks for posting this. I also got tickets for Tuesday game. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. That would be great. Actually I would love to see any Brewers do the title belt gesture, and then I hope someone catches it for a gif.
  11. Ugh, how obnoxious. I understand he's fit enough to play basketball and could have cracked a ribbed any way, but he needs to make smart decisions. I hope he gets fined.
  12. Really? I thought the lowest payroll was about $40 or $50 million (?). I didn't think any team was getting more than $10 or $20 million in revenue sharing. At one time the Marlins payroll was half of what they were getting in revenue sharing. I think MLB stepped in last offseason and said that the team was required to spend the money they got from revenue sharing on players and not on other things. As far as Hank, eh he's a tool. There are good reasons why he doesn't run the team.
  13. I like this site for pictures.
  14. Here's the police report. This is sad. He really needs help. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
  15. I love it. No technical issues and great picture. Plus I can use it if I'm on vacation and I like the updates from other games. You also have multi-game view, so it's nice not to have to switch from the game. Plus you can access old games, I think from 2006, which I don't really know how else to do. I had extra innings and it was good. Sometimes (actually more than I thought I would like to) I liked listening to the other team's broadcasters. But with mlbtv I paid the extra money to be able to choose. Now I just prefer listening to my home team's broadcast because 1. I think they're better than most and 2. living out of market, I prefer the extra attention. Also when I moved, even though I stayed with Comcast, they terminated my extra innings. I had to fight with them to put it back on at no charge. I don't know if that happens with every cable provider though.
  16. So I live and work in Appleton, and today at work we were talking about marketing and someone brought up Backupcatcher's place. Funny since it was just mentioned in this thread. My coworker asked if we knew the place and I said "Yea I know..." I cut myself off because I found myself about to say I know the owner, when I really don't know BUC, just that he posts here. Anyway, I felt silly. But if it means anything, my boss received a birthday visit and loved it.
  17. He moved the deadline up to 2/16. LINK
  18. I always thought Gnarls Barkley would be a great choice for the halftime.
  19. We have no idea whether or not Eckstein or Counsell used, unless you're saying "no" to those caught. Pettitte was great, but he's not worthy and I don't think he'll be voted in (though he has a better chance with the VC). But I wanted to post to say I agree with joepepsi that Mussina definitely belongs in the Hall. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. Even though there really isn't a place for him, and they shouldn't take on another gazillion dollar contract, I would love for the Yankees to get Pujols just to hear all the moaning about the league.
  21. I like pop and I like hip-hop and rap, but I HATE 'Diddy-Dirty Money - Coming Home.' I think it's lame, and I find Puff obnoxious. "Back where I belong"? Um, no. You never belonged in front of a mic. Why don't you put the money and energy into supporting the groups you already have on your label?
  22. As a Yankees fan, I have never liked him. I can tolerate Hank, but Levine and Lonn Trost need to be thrown off a bridge. And because he's in the thread title, I'm a fan of Cashman. Every time his contract was up, I hope he stayed. In 2005(?) he was given more control and it worked. Even though I always worry, I don't see him going anywhere else.
  23. I've been to Miller, 'Old' Yankee Stadium, Shea, Fenway, Camden Yards, and Turner Field. My favorites (ranked) are Camden, OYS, Miller, Fenway, Turner, and Shea. I'm hoping this year to get to New Yankee Stadium, Great American Ballpark, and Target Field. I'd really like to get to the East coast and see Fenway and Yankee stadiums and for some reason I've always wanted to get to KC. I would really like to go Kauffman too (but then again, I would love to go to every stadium). I like their scoreboard and all the fountains. I think I read that KC has the most fountains of any city except Rome. Also I liked Fenway but just be aware that it's kind of a dump (ie old, cramped, obstructed views).
  24. I think I remembered that some people here liked the Puppy Bowl. Although I'm sure most bf.neters will be watching the other game, here's the starting lineup for the PB: http://animal.discovery.com/tv/puppy-bowl/starting-lineup/starting-lineup-20.html
