  1. One thing you may want to look into before buying a new router is to upgrade the firmware on your current one, as well as the driver for your wireless card. Most new wireless routers are n enabled, so if you go that route make sure that the wireless card in your laptop is n enabled as well. If not, the card would also have to be upgraded as well.
  2. The AT&T commercial of the flash mob dancer who is late getting the message. It wasn't funny the first time and it sure isn't funny the 8,437th time.
  3. HiAndTight, you're right on target with what a manager should concern himself with (wish I had that 500k bonus clause). But as mentioned, this was a special situation and as this team doesn't have the payroll of the Yankees he should be aware of this clause. It comes with the territory of being a small market manager. Fortunately it's a moot point. Phew!!
  4. TLB, I read that in the paper this morning and had a (paraphrased) "What the hey" moment. Actually that moment won't go away. With all else from RRR, I don't think it ever will. Don't know if it was mentioned, but something most of you know by now: the Brewers WERE on the no-trade list of 10 teams, but his previous agent never submitted the list to the team or the players assoc. FR diplomatically said it was due to Trevor being the incumbent closer at the time he signed.
  5. Tbadder - my take is the crew wasn't even in the market for a closer, so the number of teams vying for a closer doesn't change. However, the number of available closers just went down one. Then again, I've been known to mistakes from time to time. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Edit: jeez I'm slow typing tonight - too excited
  6. A tweet by Jim Bowden of ESPN brings up a great point - Heath Bell's value just went up. Not only do we get quality pitching, Melvin just raised the price for our competitors. Nice....
  7. The Mets are shedding salary. Melvin is hitting while the opportunity is there. The Dodgers will also be trying to shed salary. Furcal, anyone? This is a perfect storm trade, and probably not the only one. EDIT: topper types faster than me http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  8. Yep Hawing, I'll admit it. I'm old http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif "Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale. . ." Happy sailing, Mr. Schwartz.
  9. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/43728174/ns/today-entertainment/ The Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Isle, among many other things. As a little kid, I still remember coming in to watch Gilligan reruns just before dinner each night.
  10. 20th wedding anniversary last week. Never even got so much as a card. . . from my own wife.
  11. Meanwhile, in a little corner of hell, an icicle has formed. It's about time! He really needs some pressure taken off. Special needs kids do take their toll. Now that I think of it, I'm disappointed that RRR hasn't done this sooner as he's supposed to be a players manager.
  12. Since FIB already won it, going for 2nd. The ring! My preeeciousssssssssss.
  13. We'll probably lose 5 outta 6 to them, but at least I learned East Dakota and Baja Manitoba.
  14. Can Larry Shaefer pitch?
  15. "Instant karma's gonna get you. . ." YES!! Normally I hate any injuries, but the holier than thou Cardinals are the exception. Time to put Prince Albert in a can for 4-6 weeks.
  16. While everybody is worried about the wrist, I wouldn't be surprised if the shoulder turned out to be a bigger problem. My penance for finding a little joy in this: "Hail Tony, full of grapes..."
  17. Joseph, I have family from around the country coming in and we hope to go to the Saturday game - tailgating included. You're more than welcome to join us! EDIT2 - A rather sudden change in plans by wildcard father-in-law, and now they are coming up a week later and no Brewer game. If our own family goes that weekend, we'll let you know. Sorry about that.
  18. I'm surprised nobody mentioned it yet, but the world's largest music festival is going on while the Reds are in town. Summerfest Oops, my bad - thanks Hawing! (see the next post)
  19. After that shot of the stadium, I do believe there are move folks posting here than are attending the game in south FL.
