I really like it if we get him before interleague play....Agreed on Thome. Picture this: late September and you are a game out in the division. You need a good veteran bat off the bench for the stretch run. The Brewers don't have that right now.
16-11 - no rhyme or reason, other than an uneducated guess when looking at the schedule. It doesn't hurt that the team is on a roll. Good things happen when pitching and hitting work together. If they really go 16-11 or better, I see a playoff appearance as this is the toughest month of the year.
My wife's mostly Italian and hopes to go back to the homeland someday, so hopefully it'll happen sometime. Right now we're not in a position economically. BTW kalle8, that is one of the best avatars ever!
"It was really nice and it was really classy. " "I've never seen an opposing player get anything like that whenever they come in, so I didn't think it was going to happen. It was a lot of class on their part to do that." Wait, this wasn't in St. Louis? Seriously, this was great to see.
Game05 - at worst you should be able to get a set of USB speakers. Either that, or perform a laptopectomy on the speaker connection. Maybe someone else has more experience on what else would work.
Happy Star Wars Day! May the 4th be with you. Oh, and the series is coming out on Blu-Ray. As big a SW nut as I am, I'm not getting them unless they're dirt-cheap. The flanneled one got enough of my money already.
DHonks, I'm watching CNN. About 40+ minutes they had some talking head who gave some details. She had a few more things, like barbed wire, but I forgot at the time. Too excited!
What is interesting is some of the clues about the mansion they found him at. It was worth a million dollars, but had no phone or internet. It had couriers coming and going. It had 12-15 foot walls. They burned their trash rather than just setting it curbside. Just a few red flags.
A great and historic day in our history, to be sure, but the next week or two could be worrisome. His followers are now loaded guns wanting to fire. I hope I'm wrong, but the possibility is still there. Either way, he's now torch fuel!!
"... need them in case there is bad weather" ?? Tell them you have this newfangled invention called radio. It even works on batteries! Stay on target. This weather bites. Rain and 50 degrees really gets to me after what seems like a few weeks in a row (I know, hyperbole).
That forecast looks brutal. I would think they would reschedule for later. Doubleheaders don't make as much money, so they're a last resort. Both teams have an open day on May 26, ironically after the Crew plays Washington in Miller. The bad part is it's in the middle of a Brewer homestand. There are a couple of similar dates later in the season, but they aren't any better logistic-wise.
