  1. Congratulations!! And my sympathies over your impending lack of sleep, near-term http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif Great name, btw! Same as my oldest, who actually is a pitcher in little league, albeit right-handed.
  2. Holy cow trwi7, that's what I was hearing after the fireworks. Although from here in the Hartridge area, all I could hear was thumping.
  3. Happy Birthday, stalton!
  4. Patrick, I'm with you on that area of the zoo interchange. What also gets my goat is I often take the northbound exit and end up following said moron who suddenly slows down right before the veer north to merge back on to 94E. I'm amazed I haven't been in an accident (yet - knock on wood). They need a divider that starts before the Hwy 100 overpass to end that garbage.
  5. Yeah, even when they fight they are classy. There is no blue "blue enough" in existence for my comments on the Cardinals and class.
  6. We have a couple of pet spiders in the living room. Normally, they would meet their fate with the vacuum, but this pair of arachnids have quite the collection of mosquitos and fruit flies. Natural bug control at its finest.
  7. Done. I did the same with Give Kids the World last month, but don't think they pulled it out to finish in the top twohttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif
  8. Vibrant makes me want to try and circumvent the cuss filter. Even when I disable it, it comes back.
  9. "Word of Mouth" by Mike & the Mechanics. It even sounds like walk-up music.
  10. . . . especially if you serve lime Kool-Aid.
  11. Went to a wedding this weekend. The pastor's name was Ben Sheets. The seamheads in my family had a field day - pun intended.
  12. Congratulations!! Rivieria Maya is awesome. We'd go back there in an instant. I hope you made to to Chichen Itza. BTW, our club has jackets http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. Thanks pretend! It's moved from 13th to 11th in a couple days.
  14. Thanks Casey! Much appreciated.
  15. Hello all. Pepsi is providing funding for all sorts of charities and recently we got an e-mail from one that's close to our heart about this. Give Kids the World is a little village near Orlando that provides a place to stay for kids with life-threatening illnesses for things like Make-a-Wish. Our family stayed there last year for our youngest's wish - Disney World and Sea World. GKTW takes care of everything you need while staying there and also provides a lot of things for the kids to do there, such as handicap-accessible pools, games, and wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round which our little guy just loved (his only time on one of them). They are staffed mostly by volunteers and services are provided by local businesses - the month we were there food was provided by Boston Market. Back to the point. I'm asking for help in getting GKTW the funding just by voting on this link. If you poke around and vote for something else, that's cool too. It's all for a good cause. Note: it requires a sign-on, so it's a bit of a pain. If you do vote - thank you! Mods: If this isn't doable here, just remove and accept my apologies.
  16. Umpire inciting players - Rapuano and Bush comes to mind instantly.
  17. That would be way cool! Maybe even the independent leagues around the country would be a place to ask about. Also, in lieu of using MLB t-shirts, my 8-yr-olds unis are the really nice uniform material instead of the plain cotton T's. At least there's a plus to this.
  18. I remember posting in that forum as well. It was pretty much agreed that MLB does have the right for a licensing fee - easily understood as they, as well as Majestic, have an investment in it. But you'd think they would do like Invader said and create reasonable fees for the youth leagues. And I sound like this after cooling off for a few days.
  19. I have two boys in Little League in Lake Country (if anybody remembers that, you've either got a great memory or are a little creepyhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif). Anyway, this year our league switched to non-MLB and even non-MiLB team names. I asked one of the coaches who is also involved in organizing it what happened. He explained that the licensing fee for the shirts was doubled. Plus, he also thought that Bud Selig was in the vanguard for getting the fees raised. Has anybody else run into this? If so, have they gone up that much? Plus, did Proud-to-be-your-Bud actual have a hand in this? If all or most of this is true, what does this say about MLB's attitude toward its future fans? I ask this because it seems interest in youth baseball is waning. My oldest had a scrimmage canceled due to too many boys going to soccer practice instead. Blasphemy!! First thing first. Are other youth leagues going through this?
  20. I'll go with Yo over anyone on the Pirates pitching staff Or even Wolf after the show he put on yesterday.
