  1. jodo23, As crummy as I'm feeling about the Brewers, that brought a big smile to my face. That pic is great! I was a little surprised to find that I being the eternal pessimist was in a decided minority in thinking the Crew could still contend. Maybe I need help seeing straight.
  2. Well, maybe the boards were down for a day about nine months ago.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif Congratulations times two, pretend!! First bit of advice - the cheapie diapers work just as well as the expensive ones for at least the first year. With twins, you'll need to be "economical" in that area.
  3. Do we need Haiku, To break out of awful streak, Or whistle Dixie. Am not proposing Haiku IGT for all. My superstitions.
  4. M - I - L - W - A - U - K - E - E B - R - E - W - E - R - S No "O" to be found here. Move along, move along. Fortunately, due to Cub Scouts, I was unable to watch the game. If I had, with the day I had yesterday, I'd be much more caustic. Be forewarned for the future,http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif unless this team actually picks it up soon. Oh, who am I kidding. (I know, long season, etc., etc. - this is the thread to blow off steam and that's what I'm doing.)
  5. Line of the year!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif Congratulations and best wishes, lcbj68c!
  6. I'm really surprised nobody mentioned this: http://www.cafepress.com/bfdotnet
  7. Actually Gorman, you said what I was trying to get across better than I could. You're absolutely right on the 1st pitch fastballs. My worry has more to do with being more selective early in the count.
  8. That's great Robin. Looks like you signed with a great team! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif While all games should be equally important, theoretically, this one seems a little more equally important than most. My key is for the hitters to be patient against Zambrano which I know is easier said than done.
  9. If they were the only organization offering me a job, I would take it. As big a Brewer fan as we all are, my desire to put food on the table and a roof over my family's heads would trump my aversion to the Cubs. No need to cheer for them, you just go in and do your job to the best of your ability and leave at the end of the day. Who knows, maybe you could get free tickets when the Crew is in town. I wouldn't bring my Prince bobblehead to work, though.
  10. At my current rate, I'll hit 1000 posts in 8 years and 3 months. By then: The Crew will have won their 4th WS. Aaron Rodgers his 2nd MVP. Gas will be 9.56/gal. The Bucks will have defeated the Boise Grizzlies in the lowest rated NBA championship ever. I'm bored (and delusional).
  11. Stevo, how recent is your glasses prescription? If it's quite old but your contacts script is current, that could be the problem. Just a shot in the dark. In keeping with the thread. . . I just bought a "Yosted" t-shirt and am really looking forward to mystifying my wife with it.
  12. Menotti80, if you're like me maybe your on/off cold/sore throat is allergies/sinus problems, especially if it seems to happen during spring and/or fall. Not to be too gross, but when your sinuses drain you get the runny nose plus the sore throat as that junk raises cain on your throat. You could try antihistamines to see if that helps preventing it, plus real sinus medicine (pseudoephidrine - the stuff you now have to sign for at a pharmacy) for when things get bad. Best of luck! EDIT: added clarity.
  13. This thread's been around so long that I actually changed mine to honor the comeback of the franchise for my favorite movie - Raiders (SW is still my favorite series). Yeah I know, Lucas pwns me.
  14. Cleaning our boys' bathroom. Years ago, the ultimate Dilbert house had a children's bathroom that was all stainless steel with a grate in the floor so it could be hosed down. I now see why.
  15. Congrats Patrick! You know you're addicted when you congratulate a complete stranger for their 1000th post.
  16. What we did to ours is yank the whole thing apart and vacuum it. Odds are you'll see dust balls the size of marbles collected in the back among the drive works. Use the smallest attachment you can find (or rig up) to get in to some small spots. This should do it, but if it fails you may want to try a new belt. Good luck! EDIT: too tired to type correctly and coherently.
  17. Over 15k announced attendance? They definitely announce tickets sold and not actual attendance (thanks for the update gypcasino). It seems the only way we'll know actual attendance is to ask somebody who actually went there and I'm not volunteering.
  18. As long as I'm revealing my SW geekdom: http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff144/DatHoser/vaderbeggar.jpg EDIT: I have an even funnier one, but it may be a little questionable for a family oriented forum.
  19. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff144/DatHoser/awesome.jpg
  20. I was at the Bucks game against Cleveland this past Saturday - Scout night. The BC was about half full at best. I have no idea what announced attendance was, but my estimate was about 8600-8800. This on a Saturday night with no Brewer game in town and no Badger game on tv at that time. Brewers will draw more, easily. The boys and I will be there, too.
  21. Brewguru2's post says it all. I tend to watch the last 5 minutes of SC for the top 10 plays, and even then they usually aren't the true top 10. They still show the Eastern Sports Promotional Network's bias. Plus, like cubfan1126 notes, they employ Joe Morgan. EDIT: I forgot to add that ESPN is a monopoly that will have to crumble from within before it gets any new competition. The crumbling has already begun. Also, the "trifecta" garbage during last summer that cut Baseball Tonight down to 20 minutes. And speaking of BT, they employ Steve Phillips.
  22. Took it also. Like GAME05, I marked my Korean car as Japan. Good luck.
  23. I'll second the hardware store, at least the smaller local ones. We've got one that fixes everything, plus they're a great place to rent stuff you use once a year.
  24. Thanks, too, to jschris and endaround. What I might do is a little of each. The local Pig has the tank exchange plus it's local. That'll be my primary. I'll also buy a tank and use that as a backup throughout the year.
