  1. K-Rod doesn't qualify as a power pitcher anymore, unless you're just referring to his K rate.
  2. Not to mention that, if Aoki would flop for whatever reason, you have Gindl waiting in the wings as well.
  3. Wow, since Harvey was dominant in Helena last season (w/o getting bumped up) & a late-round college pick, I just assumed he didn't have a big arm. Hitting 95 obviously seems to indicate that's not the case...
  4. There are still a few pixels that I'd need to color in. You have to look closely, but they're there (hence why I blurred all of the borders within the logo itself)
  5. I don't think anyone's going to be able to match the Classies' fans, but maybe you'll be right on Arizona.
  6. How did I miss that "Mr." Stu Paul is no longer the voice of the Sounds?
  7. I like that he doesn't issue IBBs. Uggla's hit was weak, & lucky to find a hole. The problem tonight was Wolf getting tagged for six runs in one inning, not RRR pitching or not pitching to Uggla.
  8. Congrats to Alex & family! Izturis for a game or three isn't too bad. The birth of a child is definitely bigger than a game.
  9. That came across on the TV broadcast. I have to agree that the jeering is going to be much worse in other NL towns.
  10. Hah -- fair play on the use of "moron", and I appreciate the explanation
  11. No, no, no way was that a called steal with Wolf. Roenicke is many things & you might disagree with him often, but he's nowhere close to being a "moron"
  12. Well, I might as well post this, since I worked on it yesterday prior to trying out the new color scheme on the b&g logo. Here's what you were looking for, WTP -- http://i.imgur.com/kUxfw.png It was pretty quick & dirty, & by no means a finished product... but thar she blows
  13. You guys have set the bar pretty high for the rest of us who want to contribute to the LR this season. Great stuff!
  14. Honestly that looks better than the ball & glove logo updated with the current colors. I actually got curious when I saw WTP's post yesterday, & started to work on the b&g logo w/current colors... and frankly I didn't think it looked very good. I was a little surprised; I'd always assumed it would look great.
  15. I think it's probably a good point to not focus blame exclusively on Melvin when it comes to the expensive FA signings. I think you're spot-on in looking at Mark A. as well (if not even moreso).
  16. Yeah, that makes zero sense.
  17. I agree about letting Greinke (if it's inevitable) & Marcum go. I'd keep Wolf around, just since it's only a one-year deal. I'm not sure I'd look to deal Weeks or Hart, but I'd certainly listen if other teams wanted to offer. There's really not much to "blow up", since you'd still obviously keep Braun, Yo, Luc, and all the salary-controlled dudes. The Brewers have a chance this offseason to walk away from the strategy of spending big money on veterans, and I really, really hope they do walk away from it. I'm not sure they will as long as Melvin is GM, but I definitely hope so.
  18. Wow, that's an intense read at times. Very nicely done, splitter, you have a real knack for interviewing.
  19. You should be able to catch BP, but it's probably going to be the visiting team's session.
  20. My take on him still falls somewhere in between - but wow, there is no questioning his devotion to the game of baseball. None. This is exactly what I would say about him. You couldn't ask for a person to be more in love with the game of baseball than he is.
  21. Yeah, you definitely never know with Wrigley Field, but I agree it's sure looking like "one of those days"
  22. Thanks for the response. Bat compression testing is something that I've wanted to look into for a while now, largely because of what you allude to -- that approved bats can fail, and you can get false negative & false positive test results.
  23. Ok, went through the "Is it too early... 2012 draft thread" quickly & came up with the following: Alex Bregman, Jesse Winker (post #37, colbyjack) David Dahl, Courtney Hawkins, Gavin Cecchini, Tanner Rahier, Carson Kelly, Rio Ruiz, Stephen Piscotty, Jeremy Baltz (#40, cj) Nick Williams (#42, cj) Adam Brett Walker (#53, cj) Richie Shaffer, Travis Jankowski, Brandon Thomas, Jeremy Baltz (#69, cj) Addison Russell, Jesmuel Valentin Diaz, Lewis Brinson, Albert Almora, Duane Underwood (#70, nate82) Joey Gallo (#81, Bnowell4evr... response from cj in #83) Trey Williams, Courtney Hawkins, Lewis Brinson (#105, narwhalattack) Kenny Diekroeger (#109, narwhalattack) Victor Roache (#111, paul253) Keep in mind that some of these guys were also discussed in the context that they likely wouldn't be available at the Brewers' picks, but I didn't want to leave anyone out. Also, I can't guarantee everyone would agree that all of these guys are impact bats or potential impact bats... but these are the names that were discussed that I was able to find.
  24. This is a very big problem. Not just one start, but that Izturis is obviously the only real IF backup. The fix is so obvious to me, ditch Ish for Taylor Green & then you never have to play Izturis's bat at 2B or 3B. He's completely unacceptable as a hitter at 3B.
  25. I don't know if Twitter knew the monster they'd eventually be creating with Mass Haas tackling the twitterverse. You never fail to impress me with your Twitter networking, man.
