  1. Which was totally his fault and why he's not a true ace
  2. Sheets continues to find his groove. After his last performance -- a stellar 8 K outing -- I'm really looking forward to seeing him go to work in a notorious pitcher's park. Plus, Tommy Lasorda loves Ben, and I wouldn't want him to disappoint Uncle Tommy! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. Dear Brewers, Please see the lineup doctor to cure whatever allergic reaction we apparently have to baserunners lately. They're essential to jump out to that all-important early lead (or any lead, ever). Please let Counsell and/or Graffy get hot, if only for a game or two. I have faith in Dave Bush, and would love to see some more Gross. He's starting to come around at the plate, and can really help this team win. Please, please an OF of Jenks-Hall-Gross, not one including Mench! Can't see any way around Counsell & Graffy playing, and it doesn't make much sense to bat one of them #2 when the only thing that makes them close to #2 has been their poopy play this season so far. Gratefully, TLB
  4. Inman + Cappellan = Good return But at this point, I see no reason to trade, other than doing so just to trade. Any specific notions?
  5. Let's go Sheets! Actually, more accurately, let's go baserunners!
  6. Her best 'work' so far this year came tonight during the pre-game. Clip rolls (Yost's ejection)....akward pause.... Last night, Youst ouste....Youst....Yost was ejected for arguing.... This is my creation in the "Talk....like Ann........Carrol" vein: And tonight.....Cole Hamels......still....hasn't....given up.....ayyyyy....run
  7. to quote Phil Hartman's "Frankenstein".... NNnnnnaaashhhhinalllsss mmmmmmmBAAAAAADD!!!!
  8. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif , ueck Bwaz kicked my butt Your haiku was funnier I'll just blame A-Rod
  9. Helms, former Brewer Now Philly drinks the Kool-Aid, Krispy Kreme flavor 'Big' FA pickup for '07 named Wes Helms? Glad we've no Gillick
  10. Don loves Marquette hoops TLB sides with U-Dub Both live and breathe Crew
  11. It's funny when you think about it...the reason it's 'hard to predict which Bush will show up' is because there's only one Dave Bush, and he's a pretty darn good pitcher. Has he had some rough go-s in the early part of the season? You bet, but so do many good players (not just pitchers). Bush looks to be on track, and I'd be surprised if that didn't continue tonight against a Philly lineup without their huge LH power hitter. I'd put him in line to give up 3-4 runs & go 6-7 innings. That's why Bush is a valuable Brewer. Because this is about an average performance from him. Does he ever pitch worse than this? Uh huh, but he also outperforms it from time to time as well.
  12. Wow, as you can guess from my subsequent post, I didn't take it that way at all. I just thought it was funny. Cool off a bit, I don't think there was anything in that post to suggest any of this.
  13. and also decapitated Will Inman, Yovani Gallardo, & Jeremy Jeffress as he fell...
  14. For those of us that don't photoshop or whatever, simply look at the length of his upper arms -- the right one is significantly longer
  15. Here is a study of baserunning. Scroll down 1/4th or 1/5th of the way to find a study of the Atlanta Braves' baserunning, in which I find particularly useful the Equivalent Hit, Ground, and Air Advancement studies. Team studies on the Marlins, Indians, Yankees, D-Backs, Cubs, & Rockies follow (plus a link to one on the Cards). I get the concepts involved, but I don't really know what exactly these numbers are or mean, but perhaps Ennder or Russ can help explain
  16. Trivia answer shot ---- Julio Franco, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Randy Johnson, Craig Biggio? Perhaps Smoltz?
  17. Or Summer Shandy (Shady?), or Berry Weiss, or Sunset Wheat... Seriously, Leinie's Original is classic, Honey Weiss is good, the Red is nice, the Creamy Dark is a hidden gem (near perfect beer, IMO, but seemingly no one drinks it), & the Oktoberfest is solid but as far as these 'new' creations have gone, ick, ick, and ick. Berry Weiss tastes like a wine cooler Sunset Wheat tastes like blueberrie syrup in beer Summer Shandy tastes like beer mixed with Mike's Hard Lemonade EDIT: Back on topic, I'm very impressed overall as I read that linked Mets forum. Glad to see there are other fanbases out there who take as much care as we do to stay informed!
  18. One of their posters even knew Braun (complete with 2007 stat line) & Gallardo. However, this was the best I read: Bill Hall ruins weddings
  19. The breakdown of our team is pretty good, considering it's by a Mets fan, but he lives in Madison, WI, so here are the bloopers... Shoulder tendenitis? I guess Ben Sheets is more injury-prone than we all thought! I'm nitpicking here, but found these amusing. Their board looks as cool as ours. What a dynamic - they can cuss, but it's civilized! They definitely make sure to know their stuff, and don't make wild Cubs-fan-esque statements. There are a lot of loud-mouth NYM fans, but none so far in that thread. I'm gonna check that site out a lot more closely...
  20. Rheal, Cormier, douche....It's French night!
  21. Even A-Rod blames Meg!!! (if you don't know Yankees fan culture, nevermind)
