    Is this post serious? I don't mean to be a jerk, but Manny Ramirez for an average OF, and an 8th inning guy who may or may not have it together? In short, it's not that I wouldn't love having his bat in Milwaukee, but the value for him is much, much, much, much higher. That's why he wasn't traded this offseason, when he was supposedly going to be traded for certain.

    Where are the people that thought Hall'd transition seamlessly? CF is an incredibly tough position, and I think it's gonna be near the AS break, if not longer, before we see these kinds of plays taper off from Bill.

    This offense needs to figure out how to get the simple things done, and soon. Our pitching has lived up to its billing thusfar, and the D has been better than many expected. Meanwhile, as already pointed out, the BA w/RISP simply can't be this bad if we want to win

    That Graffanino out was atrocious. Really, really, really derailed the inning. Suppan got the job done in moving the runners, though. I'm not impressed thus far with Graffy. He was a bright spot in 2006 only because we had no solid options left for the INF, and ABs like that will kill our lineup in 2007. As the 8 guy, you HAVE to get the runnners over or in in that situation. grrrrrr..... That said, Rickie managed to match Graffy's weak popup http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

    Cappellan has so little pull in this situation. He's arby controlled for years still, and the Crew have no reason to treat him like he's an All-Star. 50ish MLB innings? Hush little baby, don't say a word... Please wait your turn. You looked good in 2006, but the pen is full right now. I agree he'll more than likely be needed for a roughly similar total of innings by the time the year's over.

Wes Helms? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif We don't exactly have room to add another SP, our pen is solid as is -- and any depletion of it would be unwise, pardon the pun. I know we can target a prospect or some nuggets, but it'd probably take more than a backup C & a Pen arm (which I don't think we have the luxury to part with anyway)

    No, it's really not. Bill Hall was moved to CF because he's going to need to learn on the job, as he would have been moved eventually, in order to accomodate Braun playing 3B. If you doubt our braintrust's faith in Braun's ability to improve, look no further than your screennamesake's incredibly defensive turnaround (turn of the corner) in 2006. And your "Only the Brewers...." quote is just plain obnoxious. This club finally has assembled a team that can win. Moving Bill Hall to CF, while not necessarily the "best" move in the short term, plays into extended & sustained success (not just this year), as Braun will likely be ready by - at latest - 2008. Would you like them to just give up on having a phenomenal athlete playing the hot corner? This is why Doug Melvin is paid to make these decisions, and not us fans. He knows what he's talking about

    Summerfest always does a great job of finding superb acts for the side stages. One thing to keep in mind is that some artists prefer playing to a more intimate/smaller crowd, so it's not always a, "Summerfest gave Band A the Amp, and Band B the Leine's stage?!" situation. BB King rules. Bon Jovi does not.

    I never understood why Baker stopped playing Todd Walker in Chi, in favor of Hairston & Neifi Perez (Cedeno came up & played SS). Then again, this is the same "Striped Bass Strategery" Dusty Baker. Who's the man with that signature? That always makes me laugh! Walker's a solid offensive player, and IIRC he's not bad in the field. I'm all for bringing him aboard, provided there's room for him...

    Lopez is a solid hitter, Zimmerman's a fine player, Kearns is solid, and Johnson is good, but man. Nowhere in any analysis of their position players is there anything to offset their complete abyss of pitching. 50 wins. That should be close to accurate.
