  1. I don't hate that dog. But if I never see him or hear about him again, my life will be just fine.
  2. Or, wait for it...........a possible flip. I'm half kidding.
  3. Non-roster invitee. Seems like a solid move. He was pretty good for KC last year.
  4. Tough noogies Jacob. Your union signed the CBA.

  6. Actually people do laugh at jokes like this. And Phillips most likely has below average intelligence so I'm sure that contributes to him laughing so hard at grade school jokes Hahah.........that's quite a leap. And a tad ironic.
  7. Montero, Straily & Bundy would be guys I'd be interested in.
  8. He has a 40% strikeout rate. I don't know if that's ever been seen before. I think there are much more attractive packages available from Texas.
  9. I wouldn't have any interest in Nolin. His velocity drop is concerning to say the least.
  10. Davis has four years of team control for Oakland, it's not as if he was only a three month rental at the deadline instead. So even if the A's do struggle this year, Davis could end up being a big bat for them the following season if they are better that year or traded by Beane say two years from now if he becomes a consistent 30 plus homer guy. That four years of team control is likely a big reason why Oakland made the trade. Power is down in baseball right now and Davis has plenty of it, along with him being really cheap. I just think they paid dearly. I may be in the minority there.
  11. I have no idea why Oakland made this trade. They're going to be terrible either way and they're in a brutal division. I don't get it. They picked up a cheap power hitter for very little and they control him for 4 years. What's the downside there? If he has one good year they flip for way more than they gave up since power is a very rare tool these days. Plus they have the DH so his value is higher in Oakland. It was a great trade for Oakland. As for Milwaukee, it is another step in building the low minors and making sure the MLB roster puts them in position to pick high in the draft the next three years which is the real prize in all the Stearns moves. A. I don't think they paid very little. I personally think Nottingham is a great prospect. B. I don't think Davis is all that good. I think his last 2 months were fool's gold. C. Oakland was awful before this trade. They're very likely to be awful after the trade. If Davis was 22, it'd be different. He's 28. He'll be gone next time they're good. This deal makes no sense for Oakland at all to me.
  12. I have no idea why Oakland made this trade. They're going to be terrible either way and they're in a brutal division. I don't get it.
  13. The dearth of catching prospects right now is really important imo. He may not stick there, but if he does........yowza. There's only one catcher in the top 50 BBA prospects and he's at 42. Love this trade. Swinging for the fences for a guy that I really don't think is helpful to us in any way.
  14. I think I'm in love with David Stearns. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  15. Yep. This is it for me.
  16. His upside, to me at least, is Adam Dunn. Which would be fantastic. His downside is a complete bust though. Brinson is going to be a good to very good player imo. I'd take that and run, assuming he comes with other prospects
  17. Gallo scares the hell out of me. No thanks.
  18. I think Brinson is the most must get in there system. I agree position doesn't matter. Create the biggest logjam you can and take top 3 guys. Brinson & Phillips in the same OF would be pretty electric. Those are two guys who can fly around! Slide Brinson to RF. Move Braun/Domingo to LF depending who is the guy when the time comes in 2017. The thought of a Clark/Phillips/Brinson outfield makes me drool. To jacknicholson's point, I agree that there may be some of that going on, but personally, I don't think the package I proposed is unrealistic. Top shelf guy, low level high upside arm and a lower ceiling "need" guy strikes me as possible.
  19. Personally I don't care about position at all. If it's a need, great, but just get the best players you can imo. Brinson and Tate would be phenomenal, I just don't know if it's realistic.
  20. Gimme Brinson, Ortiz and Morgan and call it a day. Brinson is a must-have for me.
  21. Trea Turner + is my hope. And if the "+" is one or two low-level high-ceiling pitchers, it becomes my dream scenario. A Turner/Arcia/Phillips/? up-the-middle combo is just so tantalizing.
  22. Guerrieri being the biggest value in another year Lucroy alone wouldn't even get Guerrieri you would need to give up someone like Arcia to get him. If Zunino develops for the Brewers that will be 2 players who would rank in the top 25 of any prospect list. Two thoughts: If it was that simple I don't think the Rays would trade him now. Zunino has a long way to go and only has 4 years of control. Exactly the player we shouldn't be acquiring. Little interest in him. Agree wholeheartedly. Get the best value you can with the most control possible.
  23. Prospects aren't that valuable, but yeah Lucroy isn't going to cut it for a top-10 prospect. Even Gallo is too much to ask. I guess it's a commentary on the value of our mlb roster more than anything.
