  1. God darnit, Vlad Guerrero. You are one evil dude. Don't blame me. ~Bill
  2. 01-02-03 04-05-06 07-08-09 10-11-12 13-14-15 16-17-18 KKKK Wow. EDIT: Bill, stop jinxing it. I can't stop now, or I might jinx it. It's a conundrum. ~Bill
  3. You have four outfielders. One of them must play first-base while the other three man the outfield. Which one do you choose for 1B duties? A: Peter Bergeron B: Chris Magruder C: Corey Hart D: Jon Nunnally Apparently the Brewers followed the time-tested "always pick C" method. Personally, I would have made sure my top freaking prospect doesn't get yanked around with position changes so that veteran AAA'ers can play the outfield. Reid, this ain't cool. ~Bill
  4. This is cool. 01-02-03 04-05-06 07-08-09 10-11-12 13-14-15 If this continues, I will take full credit. If not, blame David. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ~Bill
  5. capuano getting shelled in HD, 7 runs through 3 innings. I know it's just one game, but does anyone else find it pretty disconcerting when a member of your MLB rotation gets hammered in (ahem) A BALL?!? Yeah, me too. ~Bill
  6. No, don't you remember what everyone told us? He's a one hit wonder they said. Is he still a one hit wonder? If X were a GM, Guillen would be making me look genius. Yeah, I remember vividly. I wish those threads were still around, 'cause they'd be real nice "told you so" material, huh? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif And Brewer Fever, what did we do? If I offended you, I'm sorry. ~Bill
  7. Our offense is offensive. ~Bill
  8. Another nice start from Villy... 'cept for the two bombs, he was outstanding. Gotta keep the ball in the park, but it's hard not to love his ability to limit the walks. ~Bill
  9. Sheets, you da' man. 01-02-03 04-05-06 07-08-09 10-11-12 Hey, it's working... I'm not going to stop now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ~Bill
  10. Maybe Nedley should pull a page out of the Lopester playbook and drop Geoff in the batting order to say #8. That 0.740 OPS is just killing us in the #3 hole. Maybe not 8, but at least a couple spots. He's taking ABs away from Overbay, Ginter, and Grieve. It's not like anyone is on fire right now, but Jenkins needs to "man up" and accept the lineup demotion. Really, the only reason he bats where he does is because he makes a lot of money and Nedley doesn't want to hurt his feelings. When that's your justification for filling out the lineup card, you need to rethink things. Bill, I think "hit" in this case is a relative term, wouldn't you agree? I remember when I had to explain to my young son that a "HIT" was not recorded every time a batter put a ball in play, rather a hit was only when said struck ball resulted in the batter safely reaching base. Maybe we can petition for them to change that rule for the Brewers. LOL... that reminds me of a little girl who goes to my brother's games and never stops talking. She thinks every pitch is a "ball" because, well, it is... the "ball" was thrown by the pitcher, and so it should be a "ball", right? What the heck is a "strike"? She still hasn't figured out how the "ball" changes into a "strike" even though it looks the same. ~Bill
  11. Just because we don't post after every single pitch doesn't mean we've given up on them. Harsh, dude. We're on the same side... ya' know, the one that can't hit? I don't know about anyone else, but I post here so I can vent my anger. Without brewerfan, what would I do? Kick my dog? ~Bill
  12. I honestly don't recall seeing Moeller getting any 2 out hits with RISP this whole season. Maybe those two hits were in meaningless situations where the outcome of the game was already decided. Otherwise I would remember them more. I don't have time to peruse the game logs (I might if you were hating on Ginter, but not Moeller http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ), but he's also hit better than normal in "Close and Late" situations (OPS of .730). It's just a product of luck, but I don't care... anything that gets him in the lineup more in place of Gary Bennett is a-okay with me. And RoCo, I have quite an ample midsection... otherwise, I might not last much longer watching this team "hit" http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif . ~Bill
  13. 1-2-3 4-5-6 7-8-9 KK Nicely done. ~Bill
  14. I'm in love with Jose Guillen. I just can't help it. Wow. Nice hit by Spivey, nonetheless. How 'bout a 2-out knock, Jenks? EDIT: ***? Hi, Junior Spivey, this is the game calling... we've been trying to get your attention, but apparently you're otherwise occupied. ARGH. ~Bill
  15. Does anyone know Moeller's stats with 2 outs and RISP ? I'll bet he is approaching Royce Clayton territory. I just posted them a couple game threads ago, but can't find the post off-hand. He's actually hit better in "clutch" situations than he has overall. His current OPS with 2 outs and RISP is actually 1.007. So no, he's not in Royce Clayton territory. ~Bill
  16. 1-2-3 4-5-6 So far, so good for Big Ben. ~Bill
  17. Nice AB from Ginter before the K... hopefully the Crew can force Escobar's pitch count to climb early. C'mon, Grieve. EDIT: Argh. Two Ks in a row = not good. EDIT: Argh again. Why must they tease us like this? ~Bill
  18. Thanks, Lyle. That was exciting. How about a couple more knocks now, fellas? EDIT: Thanks, Liefer. How aboot another, Keith? ~Bill
  19. Nice 1-2-3 answer from Sheets. Now, how about some offense? ~Bill
  20. Geoff Jenkins almost killed someone in the stands and then he almost killed Podsednik with his bat. Not a promising start. Burglefickle. ~Bill
  21. Brewers Against Escobar: Ben Grieve - 3-for-15, 2B, HR, 5 BB, .867 OPS Jeff Liefer - 0-for-3, 2 K, .000 OPS Craig Counsell - 1-for-1, BB, 2.000 OPS Angels Against Sheets: Vlad Guerrero - 6-for-15, HR, BB, 1.038 OPS Jose Guillen - 4-for-10, .800 OPS Raul Mondesi - 3-for-4, 3 2B, 2.250 OPS Shane Halter - 0-for-3, K, .000 OPS Adam Kennedy - 1-for-3, BB, .833 OPS
  22. With the naming of an extensive Canadian scouting staff last summer and the obvious focus on the Great White North this week in the draft, it sure appears that the Brewers hope to be "the" MLB presence above the border, eh? Oih, it sure seems aboot time that the brears get oot and scoot the Great White North, eh? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif This will wear off soon, like the google image fiasco, don't worry. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ~Bill
  23. Mondesi is not a centerfielder. Why don't they have him DH and let DaVanon play in center? It probably won't matter, as we aren't real good at hitting balls out of the infield, but you never know. Hopefully the range-challenged Angels' outfield will let some gappers through. What's up with Spivey batting second? I thought Nedley told me he strikes out too much to hit there. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ~Bill
  24. From 05/26/2004: Right, Reid... I believe you (wink wink). ~Bill
  25. This is pretty funny: Thanks to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. ~Bill
