  1. Sounds like one of those where they already had the person picked out but they needed to pad their application numbers in order to call it a fair process.
  2. I wouldn't expect MLF to say anything different about Barry since personnel is a bit out of his hands, anyway. And I'm sure he'll root to retain Barry since coordinators getting fired make the head coach look bad. I didn't expect the offense to be great this year, but if you can't pass well, then why so few run attempts per game, especially when you have two good backs? And was it impossible to get Tonyan involved? I forgot he was still on the team until this past Sunday. I also expect coaches and coordinators to make the sum better than the individual parts, and they certainly didn't do that on either side. Were we a better team with MLF? Were we a better a better offense and defense with these coordinators? Plus when a head coach needs to step in and demand that you completely change your defensive schemes, that's a sure enough sign you need to go.
  3. My new bank's $5 monthly management fee and $2 paper fee also bugs me. It used to be that we were doing the banks a favor by letting them profit off our money. Now I guess they're doing us a favor by holding it.
  4. I wish Amazon Prime Two-Day Shipping were actually two days and not three weeks. The streaming portion of the service only seems to exist to offer you crummy movies for free to get you to rent the better versions. And I think as long as you spend more than $35 you get the free shipping whether you have Prime or not. Why do I pay for this service, again?
  5. Seattle and Detroit are two teams I could see taking a QB just as much as not taking a QB. Both could still trade down and take that project guy out of Florida who'd need a couple years of seasoning.
  6. Tight end. No telling if Tonyan will be back, Deguera isn't a starter and Marcedes just can't be your #1. With the corners we have I think we could get by with marginal safeties if needs be. Hopefully someone who knows how to tackle.
  7. I don't think GB would necessarily be out of a Superbowl race if it were Love next year. The defense has every ability to be great, and an influx of cap money if Rodgers retires or an extra draft pick or two if he's traded would shore up the offense. You wouldn't have to have a superstar QB to have a good team. Tend to think Rodgers returns partly because it takes great players a little while to accept that they're declining, part because the money is too good and part because the team's late-season surge could convince him that they'll be good again next year. Though I also wonder if Cobb retires and with Bakh maybe not playing as much, that's kinda the last vestige of the Rodgers-era squad, and so maybe Rodgers bows out with them. How about Rodgers to the Saints for Sean Payton?
  8. Houston is so bad they can't even lose a game when they need to. Looks like Chicago will get the #1 pick. Chicago needs so so many players I'd guess they'll trade out and get a boatload of picks to one of the many teams desperate for a QB.
  9. I'd be like a robot hot-dog salesman! Bought the deer lift. I don't have to keep my spare sodas cold so I'll probably just get the plastic crates for those.
  10. I've had that thought for the spare sodas, just 2-3 containers, so backpacks could work. Need at least the one cooler to sell sodas out of, though. There's an arm you can bolt onto the bed and it swings out with a crank, so I'm starting to lean that direction. And my maintenance director may be willing to make me one. Bolt a shorter metal post in, a round pole slips inside so it swivels, and then a manual boat crank to lift the cooler up. The side hustle I think is going well so far. $180 and $113 net the two times in my new location, which I think bodes well for summer when the town gets busy. Was hoping to vend six days per month but it may end up being four since I'm concerned a nine-day shift at work, then two days vending, then back to another nine-day shift may be a little too much. Lot of requests for coleslaw on a hot dog here, so I may end up needing another half-hour in the morning to make it every time since I've been told it doesn't freeze well. edit: okay maybe I'm starting to ramble, but I'm liking this new solution: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073LR246F/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A16NOCZFTYEP6M&psc=1 It has a 200lb lift capacity and itself is 40 lbs. Probably add coasters so I can lift the cooler up at my cart to make it more obvious I'm selling sodas. Kinda pricey, though. Would still have to do multiple trips with the spare soda containers, but so be it. edit edit: Nope, this is better: https://www.discountramps.com/viking-solutions-l-e-vator-deer-lift/p/VKS-VLV001/?gclid=CjwKCAiAqt-dBhBcEiwATw-ggMfZZ40ojpebXYUgTzcqYQvJLj3vEblUUDbwoHCjN92aVH_WMMz4NRoCgP0QAvD_BwE Hunting supplies are better because I'm looking to lift more like a deer-weight than a motorcycle weight.
  11. So an odd vending issue..... So my soda cooler is maybe 75 lbs. or thereabouts and I've got to lift it on and off the pickup bed to do my vending. My back being what it is, I can lift it, but one of these days I'm going to hurt something. Right now my best solution is truck ramps to make it a bit easier, although my cart being hitched up may get in the way of that. The boss wondered about a furniture dolly. I'm just trying to figure out what might work best to get something moderately heavy on and off the truck. The second dilemma is that I keep my extra cases of soda in the commissary, which means loading them up one-by-one and again at the end of the day. I have a small hand truck but being open cases, I'll hit a bump in the sidewalk and 10 cans will spill out. And sometimes I have to go down stairs. Or maybe truck ramps would work off the side of the truck? Right now I'm thinking another cooler for the extra soda, truck ramps to get them on/off, and then just wheel the cooler into the commissary. edit: ooh, just found this manual hydraulic lift which I really like. And not super expensive, either. edit edit: Cripes, the lift itself is 88 lbs. I'd need a lift for the lift.
  12. Even if the Lions are out at kickoff, they'll still be playing for their first winning season in five years. Hutchinson and their amazing rookie WR won't lay down and Goff has to keep convincing them not to draft a QB. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if the Lions won the game.
  13. I recall seeing that if Russel Wilson had a 95 QBR instead of the 85 that he has, their average points per game would have had them with a winning record and in the playoffs.
  14. This is what, concussion #4 for Tua this year? And as nice as it is to have guys with binoculars looking for signs of it, how many do they just not spot. A retired Vikings DE said he'd get concussed and just automatically line up for the next play without realizing he was even doing it. NFL may need to at least make it a rule that any player with a concussion must sit out the following week. I'm genuinely surprised there haven't been more Chris Borlands the past few years.
  15. Yeah it's a weird contradiction in how it would make my own job easier as well as catch a lot more bad guys, while at the same time being a particularly pro-liberty person myself. Granted, without naming the specific incidents, there were a few things that other countries asked their police to do the past couple years which made me think "I would quit my job if I were forced to do that."
  16. That's really interesting. Wonder if they might end up doing the same warning like "unlicensed owner" if their license gets suspended or something, too. Or with so many more vehicles about to be electric and computerized, if a vehicle is reported as stolen, to entirely disable it from being able to start. Or when people (usually a parent) kidnaps a kid and they know the tag number, to be able to get the GPS of the vehicle to track them.
  17. But boy, all Broncos fans have to hope for is that Wilson's year was just an aberration. If not, they're going to be a bad team for a long, long time. They can't get out from under that Wilson contract, and even if they could, they already mortgaged their future to get him. It's gonna be hilarious if the Seahawks use that pick on a QB and he turns out to be great. Of course the Broncos only hired Hackett to get Rodgers to say 'trade me,' so I guess when Rodgers stayed they never got too loyal to Hackett.
  18. Awesome, glad you liked it. Also surprised it made it through customs so fast. I was also trying to remind myself to ask you about how the game went over because I've been really anxious to hear.
  19. But what's the point when you only have two games left? So your players have to adjust to a new person for two games which don't matter at all?
  20. So the team's new strategy is to give up the mid-range jumpers in order to better defend the 3. Sounds good, and of course they're going to have a tough time against good mid-range shooting teams like Atlanta and the Nets. But the non-Lopez secondary defenders haven't been boxing out and are letting guys get in front of them for the pass-to-dunk and offensive rebounds. I don't really see it all as a product of the defensive system, but rather Lopez has been so good that the other guys are expecting him to do it all and are getting a bit lazy. Hard for me to be able to tell just what Allen's defensive deficiencies are costing the defense as a whole and the sort of points he's allowing, but provided it isn't too terrible I'm otherwise hesitant to want him traded. Marjon isn't going to be getting any minutes in the playoffs this season (not that he's been bad, but it's just Bud's way) and Carter may only have very specific minutes since it'll be tough for him to defend bigger guys, and so having Allen out there provides that second good 3pt shooter on the floor to really open up the driving lanes for Giannis and lob opportunities for Lopez. Or at least to keep a spacer out there when Middleton is resting. Seems too valuable a playoff skill to be losing.
  21. Regardless Ruiz is going to be a super-fun player to keep an eye on next year. Hitting it to the outfield is boring, anyway! I'm not as down on it from the As perspective. They're blowing it up and clearly have traits they're intentionally overvaluing. If Ruiz is the perfect embodiment of those traits, so what if you overpay from a conventional standpoint? If you thought the SB was the next big undervalued thing, how much more would Ruiz' value increase?
  22. It'll be interesting what they decide to do for the draft. I feel like they need a QB even if they have to trade up for one.
  23. When I saw the Amari Rodgers TD I thought for a long time it was our old Tight End. Too many Rodgersssss to keep track of.
  24. We technically have them once a year and fill them out online. You mark "meets expectations" or you can argue for "exceeds expectations" if you really want to. You get no raise or promotion opportunities because of it, plus the result is hugely bias toward whether the boss likes you or not. Last year I wrote mine in the third person just to be annoying.
