  1. Yea, I don't know if taking on more salary would help. If you were a GM would you give up a couple top prospects for a guy on the wrong side of 30 with constant injuries? At any price?
  2. These nagging injuries will hurt his trade value. He had back surgery with lots of time to recover, and now it's giving him problems again. Add that to the thumb, core, wrists, who knows. I just have to believe teams would be terrified they trade for this guy and he can't go when they need him most down the stretch and/or in the playoffs.
  3. We remember. But we also remember he was pretty bad before he got called up last year, and for the most part struggled throughout his minor league career. He was capable of putting stretches together like this, no idea why he is so "on or off."
  4. He's not a long term answer, so they figure they can let him keep throwing heat until his arm falls off.
  5. I agree, the big name bats have started out slowly and that troubles me. Especially Phillips. He hasn't been horrible by any means, but I was hoping to see him dominate from the start. But Gatewood has been dominant lately, Nottingham is improving every week, and Arcia is doing fine considering he's the youngest player in the league. Plus, the bats in Appleton are almost all doing well. Yes, I would love to see Phillips and Arcia be dominant by the end of the season. I would like one or two of the power bats to get real hot (Nottingham, Roache, Coulter.) But things look better than they did a few weeks ago. Finally, if you're looking for dominance, look at a few pitchers below the radar. Woodruff, Peralta, Diplan, and a couple others are pretty much dominant.
  6. Related to that, my wife asks every time Davies pitches "Hes not really a Brewer yet is he???"
  7. Gives us hope for rule 5 guys, and guys like Williams and Kirby coming back from tj.
  8. Except a base hit scores the go ahead run anyhow. Runner on 1st wouldn't matter.
  9. My advice, do not engage. Mods can handle it, that's why they get paid the big bucks. ; )
  10. Did cc just manage to over- think? I'm good with going against the book on some things, that situation though just screamed for loading them up with a slow runner coming up next. And the run at 1b means nothing. Would love to hear cc reason later, but I have a feeling fsn will skip that so we can hear Augie talk about a tough night for the bahwclub.
  11. Walsh, I know it seems like it but you're really not going to get walked every AB. Start thinking of a day when you can see yourself swinging at a pitch.
  12. Gatewood crushed that one! Also Harrison with 2 knocks and a walk. Hoping a sign of more to come.
  13. Burkholder with Anderson-esque outing
  14. Not sure, but its been during the time BA has been here. Because I remember being mad at him then for using jinx words.
  15. I'm right there with ya Briggs. No reason to hold back a pitcher who is ready. Unfortunately the economics of baseball continue to ruin things. Can't even put your best rotation at the major league level. You realize you just said there's no reason then name the reason? Yes, it does suck economics dictate things, especially for the smallest of small markets. Hader in Milwaukee this year does no good for anyone. And service time is not the only issue. As we discussed above, he is not ready to log that many innings yet this year. None of us know what's best for his development, but I'll give the nod to his coaches and player development people.
  16. Agreed, but shouldn't the Brewers Farm Director know how to pronounce the name of his own #1 prospect?
  17. For those of you with Time Warner Cable in WI, Tom Flanagan is guest this week on The Dennis Krause Show. It will be replayed many times throughout the week. You most likely won't learn anything you didn't already know. (Spoiler alert, Hader is a top prospect.) Turns out, it was Flanagan himself that was the story for me. He pronounced Arcia's name wrong. Then, named Tyrone Taylor as a big prospect after Phillips was brought up by Dennis. Hauser and Salas big prospects, no mention of about half a dozen better pitchers. Part of it is being on TV, I get that. And maybe I'm reading way too much into it. But Flanagan just didn't seem 100% all-in consumed with the farm, which I guess is the way I want my farm director to be.
  18. No, just no. I don't even want Hader to step foot in CS, much less Milwaukee.
  19. I haven't collaborated with someone on a math project in over 25 years, that was fun
