  1. Team after team has won with pitching speed and defense. 8th and 9th inning are now shut down with KRod & Axford. Gomez, Morgan and Hart all possess plus speed. middle infield seems solid and speedy as well. Very interesting possibilities as we stand today, I would say.
  2. Said on XM Baseball station today that Hanley came out and said he plays short next year, doesn't care where. Have fun Marlins. Too funny.
  3. According to Schroeder, Capps had 5 bone slaves. Now he has 6 bone slaves. Who twists words more brutally, BS or Gantner?
  4. Let Khris Davis grow at his pace, not yours. I watched the Brewers promote too fast and ruin prospects ever since Lew Krause threw the 1st pitch at County Stadium. The one thing that I have enjoyed about DMS tenure here is that he allows each prospect to grow at their own pace. Kids get used to dominating and winning. The list is waaaaaaaaaay too long to talk about all of the prospects rushed thru the system because the big club was struggling
  5. Taylor Green with 2 jacks so far. Nice to be playing at that altitude in ABQ. I know others have posted about his wrist seemingly getting healthy. Really hope that is the case.
  6. Wow.........check out Brevard's futility tonite. 9th inning heroics by the bottom of the order.
  7. Green did a fine job in Nashville today. Only 3 earned runs in his 1 inning of work. What a shame. It looked like he might have had some use at on time.
  8. I looks to me that we'll be back to the days where we were debating who is the next Brewer, Khalid Balouli or Callix Crabbe? Or extolling the virtues of Steve Moss. Gawd, those were desperate times. I guess we look forward to the next 2 drafts and get fired up again. Sure hope Hoffman signs.
  9. I do not understand those who do not like the trade. I was talking to my son after the Packer game yesterday and told him that with the meetings starting, he better be prepared for what the cost will be for starting pitching. It was going to be at least one of these - Hart, McGehee, Weeks, Lawrie, LuCroy, Rogers, Odorizzi, Lo Cain or even Braun. The price tag is expensive plain and simple. The answer is plain and simple. Pay the price or get out of the business. Those who expect to getting a QUALITY starter for a couple of mid range prospects with a bench player thrown in are delusional.
  10. While I do remember Shaw as a Brave, and do remember the Felipe Alou trade(wasn't Del Crandall also dealt in that deal?), I remember Bob Shaw the most for ruining Bill Parsons in his only season as Del Crandall's pitching coach. I remember the big TV spot with Shaw changing Parson's delivery to get more rotation on his breaking ball. Parsons ended up being destroyed after a great debut season.
  11. Oh heck no. Naming a hospital wing after him maybe be more appropriate.
  12. Sure he could be a nice 5 for the Brewers next year. So could 40 other guys including Davis and Narveson. How many 5's do they need? Is he a 5 on a potential championship team? Nope. Not to say the Brewers are destined to be champs, but for me, I'd pass.
  13. I watched the Astro's feed this weekend and they said Cain reminds them of Gary Maddox. Tall, with long strides, covering a lot of ground in the OF, and fewer strides between bags when running the bases. They replayed his double a couple of times because they enjoyed watching him chew up the dirt. Nice player to be compared to.
  14. Any reason Wily Peralta won't be considered? Too many innings?
  15. 3 or 4? That's a good NFL draft class. Go back and look at the Brewers drafts. Many years we're lucky to get one
  16. I'm sorry, but I'm having a tough time watching this set of prospects. I don't buy the small sample set either. I haven't been this discouraged since people were trying to convince me that Callix Crabbe, Steve Moss Brad Nelson, Ben Hendrickson and Khalid Ballouli were the hope of our future.
  17. Saw Yount's 1st hit. Molitor's 1st hit Eckersly's one hitter Aaron hit his 44th to tie for the league lead on the last day of the season AND>>>>>>>>>>>> Ron Theobald get a hit. - Top that one
  18. 12 singles + 6 walks + 8 SB's + 14 runs scored in 11 games. Very nice job for a lead off hitter.
  19. Jake Odorizzi - Just have a nice year, and show progress, added maturity Mark Rogers - Make it impossible for the big club to not call you up at the all star break Matt Gamel - Put together a solid year in AAA, so they have you in their plans in '11 Lo Cain - Same as Rogers Salome/Lucroy - or any other catcher we have in the system - Somebody break out with a big year - PLEASE!
  20. We had 2 shortstops and needed only 1. Traded one who got beat out for the starting job for a young starting CF with plus speed and plus arm. Taking out the fact that as a fan, I loved watching JJ play, it's a solid, solid move. Plain and simple.
  21. I still can't figure out how they lost. Didn't the Cardinals invent baseball? A Yankees loss would be second best in my book.
  22. It does seem that Lawrie is heating up a bit. He seemed so inconsistent earlier. Maybe it took awhile to get over that busted nose.
  23. Waaaaaaay too early to be worried about Seidel. Guy blows up a knee, works hard and comes back earlier than expected to throw to people in mid season form? No biggie. It often takes a full year before one can get over the mental hurdle alone, much less get smoothed out in the mechanics and start throwing well.
  24. Ranger players were shaking hands and congratulating Jon Daniels after finally getting rid of this total loser. Worst teammate and/or clubhouse guy in all of MLB. Universally hated by opponents, teammates, management, and front office. You can have him.
  25. Nick Tyson - again - for one inning - seems unhittable. Closer some day?
