Let me get this straight. Sarfate comes up last year and looks really promising. He then goes to Mexico this winter and looks more than promising, his game is now classified as encouraging. Then he has a bad day in SPRING TRAINING and there's a bunch that just want to get rid of him immediately (he STINKS!)? I find myself often disagreeing with Billyhallfan on just about everything, but this time he is right. The sports fans that never think about things that happened other than what happened 2 minutes ago are what I want to vent about. Get a grip.
I have long been a Jenkins fan..............until now. What a mutt. Trade any "me first" player for someone with similar skills that wants his TEAM to win, and you're ahead in the deal.
Wow, I found someone else who likes Rome. I guess the subject matter does not pique enough people's interest to try to watch it, but it is really well done, with some great characters.
I'll take that bet. Hardy is just too solid of a defender. Fielder Weeks and Braun will be average defenders at best, and you want inconsistant Hall in the middle of that? To not have someone who is rock solid in the middle of those guys would be a ticket to chronic 2nd place. Oh, there'd be lot's of Sport Center highlights with Hall there. But there's a reason guys like Eckstein always seem to show up on championship teams and good baseball men like Doug Melvin and Walt Jocketty seek them out.
Interesting comment end. Why only one year? 34 isn't "old" anymore, especially considering Cameron looks like he stays in great shape. It could be argued that that a guys' performance tend to trend downward in their mid 30's, I guess. But it seems more like 36 - 37 - 38 in these days of advanced nutrition and medicine. Like I said interesting comment. Maybe start a new thread on this subject.
I agree, not enough for Cordero. Plus, If Turnbow does come back this season lights out, why trade him for Cordero? If he does not, who'd want him at any discounted price?
Glenn Braggs shot through the minors with the sickest numbers I have ever seen. He was the next Willie Mays. Got to the majors and rarely hit above .260 or 10 home runs.
I watched it the last 2 years on MLB.com. It's OK. The announcers have a little time to talk about each guy, and then on to the next one. It's refreshing, actually, that they don't thrash each pick to death. I sure hope they don't draw it out to pay for TV time.
