  1. I still love greg maddux...and i'm willing to wait until the rade dealine next year to see villy in a starting role if we can get maddux for a year or two... He's still a very good pitcher...and he's incredibly intense on the mound... Plus, he owns the brewers...so having him on the team at least means the brewers wont have to get shutout by him...
  2. Odalis perez and Jason Marquis had some pretty good years outside of atlanta...
  3. barmes was one of the worst players in baseball last year...
  4. pierre has led the league in outs 2 of the last four years...and he's never been in the top ten in runs scored...lead off hitter? Not really...Over-rated...
  5. they give yo a great rookie season in the bigs...i'd love for that to happen... and i've seen yo hit 94 with my own eyes...honestly, rumors like his lack of a fastball spread like crazy on the internet and are never verified!
  6. i was thinking of jason schmidt
  7. trwi7--- you missed my point...I don't care if they need jenkins, but I'm not taking Hudson's contract unless they take a big one off our hands..
  8. there might be a way to do something like: Geoff Jenkins TGJ Mark Rogers here...make them take some money back, but give them a good prospect also...If we could get Hudson for the equivalent of 3 years 23 million, i'd be much less concerned... Davis would work pretty well also...
  9. I like Hudson...but that's too much money and too much talent for a guy that might be equal to doug davis over the next 3 years...He might be good, but his 2005 numbers would kill the brewers if he was being paid 13 million dollars... let's spend that money on jason schmidt instead..
  10. Believe it or not, but Rfay King is only 32
  11. well, that would make him a 1 year guy, but i'd feel alot more comfortable giving him Carlos lee money than i would Clee or soriano...
  12. if the brewers could get Dunn and somehow sign Jason Schmidt, I would say that they would be WS contenders for next year, not just WC challengers...
  13. from rotoworld: "Reds GM Wayne Krivsky, who worked with the Twins for 11 years, wants to cut down team strikeouts, increase average and doesn't mind losing some home runs in the process. With that mindset, Dunn is definitely a good candidate to be moved. Krivsky has already traded away three of the five hitters who struck out 100 times in 2005 - Wily Mo Peña, Austin Kearns and Felipe Lopez." This is the guy i want to see the Brewers pick up for next year...I think they could get him for less than Carl Crawford, and his obp skills are much better...plus his prodigious power...On top of that, if he is replacing Geoff jenkins in the lineup, there wouldnt really be a net gain in K's... anyone else with me??? I don't know what kind of package it would take to get Dunn---but maybe: TGJ Mark Rogers Dana Eveland/Zach Jackson would get it done...The reds are trying to cut back on K's, and they want high average, so I think TGJ is a lock for any trade with them...Mix in one of our young good pitching prospects (but not Inman or YO) would get this done...
  14. i think "results" from fall ball are of little importance...sure Mass feels the same...
  15. Ryan was unhittable... his 1.25 WHIP was good...but i would guess that 50% of the baserunners he allowed were through walk.. Nolan Ryan is one of the more unique players in baseball history
  16. nolan ryan had no control...sheets might have the best control in the majors...they are very very different pitchers
  17. both have well established and well known impeccable control...so that seems to be a draw between the two
  18. Sounds good to me... Do you think he'd be a reach at 7? is he more of a middle first guy? Guess it's kinda tough to project that now...Cool that he's in Georgia though, because they'll hit the field in February
  19. They don't hit NC at all until May, but then they are playing in Greensboro, Asheville, and Kannapolis all in a row...hopefull i can hit a handful of those games, as I'm not sure we're going to be here past July.. edit: the 4 dates in Columbus GA at the end of the summer are hittable as well...cool
  20. does that mean his 6 foot 5 as well? I'm intrigued by this guy...i like the athletic prospects who are developed as hitters...Fielder is awesome, but i still like the guy's who are 5 tool-ish prospects
  21. too many mai tais? My wife actually broke her ankle while we were in hawaii...it's a slippery place hopefully Zo is ok
  22. .883 for his career with a high of .956 crawford's career is .756, with a high of .830 I know you weren't really comparing them, but Jackie Robinson's OPS proves that it takes a lot more than just speed edit: The Yankees had the highest OPS in baseball, and they made the playoffs...the phillies led the NL and they almost did...
  23. yeah, i'd do that one also...i doubt the twins would...
  24. Yo hits 94 and works in the 91-93 range...i think he's comprable...he's a big step up fom guys like hendrickon that top out at 91 and have less control... I think david Weiser said late in the season that he thought yo was a better pitcher at AA than Sheets was...that's crazy high praise
