  1. he doesnt throw quite as hard as ben does now, but then ben didnt throw in the high 90's until a few years ago... Yo is certainly close to Ben in ability
  2. capuano is not an ace...
  3. i'm being realistic fellas... davis, hardy, and rogers isn't get carl crawford...that package wouldn't get any superstar players... i would probably do the cappy and yo trade, contingent on getting an arm back with him (jason hammel?) and the brewers getting another starter via free agency or some other methods..
  4. I think the best the brewers could do is: Capuano Yo 5-10 range prospect They might bite on that...an it wouldn't kill the brewers, so long as they tried to replace Capuano in some fashion
  5. hey patrick--- email that to doug melvin so he can make it happen... how bout we trade brady clark for a low a reliever and sign dave roberts too... good stuff...i'm with you on Nomar...i don't care about his injuries...i love the guy...one of the best pure hitters in baseball...
  6. could just be a technacality, as winkelsas retired mid-season
  7. ouch....I wonder if fall ball is make or break for Steve as a starter...Fermaint deserves CF in huntsville...with nix gwynn and nelson in Nashville, Moss may find himself on the bench in AA next year
  8. I think everyone here could have gotten the current top 10 minus gillespie and jeffress 80% right a year ago...
  9. having to work also having to do work... having to do both at the same time is inconceivably inconvenient
  10. I would think Dillard is a lock and Fermaint is very close---speed and defense would help him survive for a year as a bench player.. Palmisano isn't going to be taken, but if the brewers are counting on him to be the primary catcher in AAA next year, then he's most likely going to wind up on the 40 man at some point any way... That's about it for now...
  11. if you'll check those guys stats, you'll find that none had hit 50 IP or 130 ab's in 2005...
  12. Cartel - Chroma I was led to this band a few years ago because one of the original members was in another band with a close friend of mine...he's since left the band, and they've blown up...bad move on his part...but, this album is just incredibly fun. You've heard a lot of it before, as it has a very similar structure to fallout boy and saves the day...but it keeps its joyful nature and pop hooks where those other two talk about death and breaking up with stupid girls...that's not to say that Cartel's lyrics are good, but that they are pretty cliche, and therefore easy to ignore... This album is not solid gold...nor is it for the overly pretentious...but if you can get past the fact that its basically loud pop music, it's a heckuva lot of fun
  13. Hickory would have been awesome, but i'm ecstactic about them staying in WV too...expect many an update from the first half of the season...until i inevitably move out of NC
  14. its still crazy to think that 5 years ago, the 40 of us would post maybe 50 times a day total...i honestly think there were days with fewer than 5 posts... and now, well i can look forward to hours of my life slipping away each day! to brewerfan.net! The cause and solution to all lifes problems
  15. baring injury, i could see those two...could be salome also..
  16. he's a good defensive player and the fastest runner in the organization...he'll start in brevard...where he should have lots of doubles..
  17. Ford is behind Cain, but not far...He's a good prospect...He's the player that TGJ wants to be...
  18. i've got the cardinals feed...and they said that ned said Hall will be an outfielder next year...anyone else hear this?
  19. The final Farm Hops of the season is up and it's really lond, so pace yourself...have a drink or two...then come here and discuss it with us
  20. I bought Velvet Underground White Light White Heat a couple days ago...and i will say that its much more my speed than velvet underground with Nico...sister ray is incredible edit: New Ben Kweller album is very good as well..not much different rom his old stuff, but still incredibly enjoyable
  21. volstad is serious talent guys..i think inman is a better pitcher, but i completely see why the BA guys would like volstad more as a prospect..
  22. ok, i'm getting frustrated with this argument.. yes, homer bailey has performed very well in the minors, but his success in the majors is equal to mark rogers...rogers still has tons of potential, so while he may not seem to be the same prospect as Bailey, he still has a chance at being special.. in other words...can we drop the bailey comp until Homer is performing in the majors?
  23. and yet his incessant whining is always heard clear across the country... don't get me wrong, i'm a big fan of the guy...but i can't imagine him in milwaukee...unless he's pulling a publicity stunt of something..
  24. i dont think its worth it... other than hardy, you arent giving up the future for manny in that deal, but its so much money and he's such a media whore... besides, i think boston would want a top level prospect or two mixed in there...
