  1. not saying that trade should be made, just saying that i think thats a realistic offer...
  2. it might be something like yo, eveland, charlie fermaint for crawford, and shawn wooten (or elijah dukes)---these are just names i'd like...dukes is insane and i think the drays have had about enough of him i doubt it would be one prospect for one mlb player...as good as yo is, you just dont see one prospect for mlb star type deals..
  3. to refute what you said earlier Jim Grayson stadium in savannah is not a good ball park at all...like Golden park in Columbus, it's a 100 year old facility...unlike golden park, it wasnt refurbished for the 96 olympics...both stadiums are in iffy parts of town and the columbus team, as those who follow minor league baseball should know, is the least supported minor league baseball team in america... if the brewers have truly resigned with WV, good...it can't be worse than those other two places...
  4. i'm not a huge crawford fan, but this thread is telling because we are gonna have to part with some of the top prospect guys to get a big name player... i think currently, the brewers are stacked enough in the pitching department that they probably could make a deal to get someone like crawford...i'd hate to see the prospects traded, but it would probably be a smart move... i think crawford would cost us gallardo and inman....but at least he's young and cheap...instead of Andruw Jones, who is neither..
  5. people who complain on message boards
  6. i don't think this applies to all freeagents, just class c ones...if i'm wrong though, i've completely missed this before...
  7. 06: jeffress 05: braun 04: rogers 03: weeks 02: Fielder 01: mike Jones... there arent two high school pitchers in a row, but there are three of them...
  8. if that website is right, then its just savannah, columbus, west virginia and delmarva, in the sally, right? but i dont think that site is right
  9. ahem... he's not just gonna dissapear, but he might setlle his contract and call it a day...if he can't play baseball anymore, then what's to be done? I guess a few more months might make it better...but post-concussion stuff can change you permanently...and possibly weaken reaction times...he could come back...but i wouldnt be surprised at all if he does retie, millions of dollars or not, or at least spends all of next year on the 60 day dl...
  10. in order: Hickory Kannapolis Columbus delmarva lakecounty savannah if the team moves to any of those, i'll get to see them a minimum of 3 times a year...if they move to hickory or kannapolis, it might be 10...same for columbus georgia...though i don't wish the crappiest fans in minor league baseball on them little league? yes. minor league? heck no.
  11. man, that was cool... too bad for geoff that he waited until it didnt matter to get hot...i dont understand...there no logical correlation between the two things (losing and jenkins not being terrible) but it seems real... anyway, an amazing game..
  12. just wanted to poitout that thendless07 is a soothsayer
  13. i think there will be bigger changes than predictd by you clancy, but i refuse to take a stab at what they will be... i'm starting to doubt we will have ohka and graffinino back, and i think koskie may retire, or just be stuck injured all season so he can get his check...the brewers won't carry jenkins mench and clark next year, but i wouldnt be terribly surprised to see two of them back, even if it means the team isnt drastically improved... its actually pretty hard to nail one specific place, other than the bullpen, that needs work, or that can be improved on with ease... frankly, i think the brewers may have to trade prospects to actually improve the big club...and i'm just not sure they are gonna do this offseason... this is a strange moment as a brewerfan...on paper, the brewers are ready to compete...but on the field, man they suck...so what to do?
  14. Clancy, i give you credit: your lineup is probably the most realistic of ones i've seen posted... while i don't actually think the brewers will sign barajas (check his obp---he's just mike rivera with more experience) or release Koskie, they might...and that's a whole lot more realistic than trading for arod and signing soriano
  15. i was thinking about clark...but jj is not a base stealer in any way.. yost might let corey hart attempt 50+ stolen bases next year...
  16. i wonder if jj hardy could walk enough to bat leadoff... i kinda like the idea that the brewers dont have a prototypical leadoff hitter, because for the most part those guys aren't great ball players...and having someone who's a plodder on the basepaths should stop nedly from sending runners all the time..
  17. whos the injury delay for?
  18. your relief at work being late and unexpected rain when you are wearing shortsleeves and have no umbrella
  19. i saw pujols name with two on when i walked into the kitchen and thought to myself: "well, at least I'll know why the game is tied when i get back"...
  20. i'm gonna be at the game tonight, so if you see a guy in a brewers hat near the lf foul pole, it's me and the wife...
  21. Final: Montgomery (D-rays) 7, Huntsville 0 Huntsville Site Game Review link, then text www.huntsvillestars.com/news/news.asp?newsId=1012 Stars' Backs to the Wall After Biscuits Win in Game Three Mitch Talbot tossed a complete-game, five-hit shutout and got home run support from Ryan Christianson, Michael Coleman and Jeremy Owens in Montgomery?s 7-0 blanking of Huntsville in game three of the Southern League Championship Series. The Biscuits lead the series two games to one and are one win away from their first-ever league title. Steve Moss opened the game for the Stars with a double but never advanced, as Talbot retired the next three hitters. The right-hander retired eight in a row after a one-out single by Jeff Eure in the second inning and worked out of trouble in the fifth by striking out Ozzie Chavez and getting Steve Moss to ground into a force out at second base with runners at first and second. Talbot gave up a one-out double to Ryan Braun in the sixth and did not allow a hit the rest of the way in finishing off his second complete-game shutout in the post-season. He struck out 10, walked two and did not allow a runner to advance to third base. Talbot has recorded 24 strikeouts in 18 post-season frames after punching out a franchise record 14 Jacksonville Suns on Saturday night. Ryan Christianson led off in the home third and slammed a 2-1 offering from Star?s starter Yovani Gallardo for a home run to left field to give the Biscuits the lead for a third straight night. It was his second long ball of the post-season and the first allowed by Gallardo since a Luis Bolivar grand slam on July 31 at Joe Davis Stadium. Jason Pridie followed with a single, moved to second base on an Elliot Johnson single, to third on a fly ball by Reid Brignac and scored on a fielder?s choice grounder to make it 2-0. Coleman belted a one-out long ball in the fourth to make it 3-0 and mark the first time in 15 starts that Gallardo had allowed two long balls in a game. The former big leaguer, who had gone deep in Wednesday?s game, was fairly demonstrative on his way out of the batters? box, which led to him getting hit by a 2-0 fastball from Gallardo with a runner at first and two outs in the sixth inning. Both benches empties, words were exchanged but cooler heads prevailed and play resumed with Gallardo fanning Francisco Leandro to end the inning. Coleman singled home a run in the eighth inning against Mike Jones with two outs and scored, with Evan Longoria, on an inside-the-park home run by Owens, who hit a fly ball off the top of the wall in right field that rolled away into the Huntsville bullpen. The ball was retrieved by second baseman Callix Crabbe, who threw home late in an attempt to get a sliding Owens. The Biscuits have blasted three home runs in each of the last two games and seven in the series. The series continues Friday night at 7:05 pm with left-hander Manny Parra taking the mound for Huntsville against Biscuits? southpaw Jason Cromer. Coverage of the game begins at 6:50 p.m. central time and can be heard locally on ESPN Radio 1450 AM and through the internet at www.huntsvillestars.com. 22. the guy i'd like to see the brewers sign is kevin witt...he was a monster in AAA this year, and i think he hit a homer at all 4 durham bulls games i went to... it would be fun to watch the boardss light up when a AAA guy has a 1.000 ops and 20 homers in june
  23. andrew beattie and graham koonce are fantastic depth and i hope they are retained...
  24. Maybe they measure from the base of the mound up? that would have made shane nance about 4 foot 3 when he wasnt pitching
