  1. If I come back into a locker room after a rough loss, and see my manager sitting there pissed, maybe I don't hang my head as much. If he cares so much, so should I. Plus, I always like to see managers stick up for their players. Of course it doesn't always work. I'm reminded of the time Cassel kicked the ball off the scoreboard and got ejected. He was trying to get the team fired up, but it didn't work. They would have been better off with him and his one foul left on the court instead of in the locker room.
  2. I can see why the coaching staff didn't want to put Ford into the starting role unless necessary. It was obvious at one point that he had a few butterflies. That being said, once Yost calmed him down and his teamates ran the double play he looked like a veteran out there. You don't want to ruin his confidence, but he deserves to be out there. I think today's game was a big step for Ford, as he faised a difficult team in a hostile setting and still pitched remarkably well. A second note...in that situation, managers get thrown out on purpose to try to lite a fire under their team. Yost went out with the intention of getting ejected. I guarantee he told the Ump what was wrong, why his team was upset, then dropped the F-bomb and some other stuff and hit the showers. Good for him. Hopefully this team will come out tomorrow ready to play.
  3. Yea...we have 6 hits in the first 2 innings and only 1 run to show for it. You have to take advantage of opportunities against a pitcher like Wood.
  4. I think the Cubs had the lights turned off on purpose to try to "ice" Ford, like when you call a timeout before a field goal in football. I hope the kid can overcome it can give us 4-5 great innings.
  5. I was worried someone would post one at the same time as me too. Looks like I beat you by a few second:-) On a side note, it would be sooooo nice if Ruben could put in 5 mediocre innings. Just keep the bullpen fresh to keep the pressure off of Ford.
  6. Starting this up for tonights game. Stupid baserunning in the first, but Jenks makes up for it. This guy is getting his numbers up big time. He hit that ball a ton.
  7. If I were you, I wouldn't place predictions on prospects at all. They are prospects, and while it is good to set goals, you have to adjust to how they develop. Some guys are late bloomers. Some guys like Rocco Balladeli are just ready to play at the bigs. It really doesn't do any good to predict.
  8. On a serious note, I would like to know the plan for development the Brewers layed out to Rickie and his agent.
  9. I bet he bats around .360 in 2009.
