  1. I just hooked up the component cables I got in the mail from Nintendo. Anyone thinking about getting them should do it right away. Zelda in particular looks like a completely different game. While not PS3 or XBox 360, with the component cables you can defiantly tell that this system is past the last generation. The lack of HD sucks, but the characters in Zelda blow anything from Gamecube out of the water.
  2. Spoilers: I broke down and got a guide when I couldn't find the 3rd and 4th Poe. There were a few other times I got stuck (mostly in the water temple) and for these instances I was able to find a quick answer on the message board at Gamefaqs.com . End Spoilers One of the nice things about the Zelda games is that I have always thought the puzzles were for the most part intuitive and could actually be figured out. Most use a simple formula where you will need one of the items you just recently attained to get past the next part. In past games there were very few times that I actually got stuck and needed help. Playing through this game, I have realised that I am less patient and seek out help a lot quicker now. I dont have as much time to play games anymore and just get annoyed when I am stuck trying to figure something out. The downside to checking a guide or message board is that you loose that sense of accomplishment when you figure something out on your own. The noise that shoots out of the controller when you get something can be very rewarding. I almost feel like I am cheating myself out of those moments by checking a guide now...but obliviously the game is still amazingly enjoyable.
  3. 25 hrs in. Its nice that this one is actually challenging. I am trying to hold off playing though for a while as my component cables have finally shipped from Nintendo. I want to enjoy the 2/3 left of the game in 480p. I know some of the textures are "gamecube" era and its not in HD, but there are certain scenes in the game that are just so beautiful. Spoiler: The snow temple was really a pleasure to play through. It is up there with the Fire Temple in Orinca as one of the best levels I have ever played in a game. Also, how cool is the joust part on the bridge when that one guy steels the kid from Karikaco(sp?) village. The video where Link rides in through the town after them was great too...just a very well done section of the game.
  4. Thats why I am bringing my brass knuckles.
  5. I will try to find the link that shows how many will be going to each Best Buy/Target. It is probably still better to call though and talk to a manager.
  6. My plan is to go to the 24hr Walmart by me that will sell them at midnight. I will probably show up there at around 10pm. If I don't get one, I will head over to Target/Best Buy and see if there is a line. I know the Target by me is getting around 70, so that will be my fallback plan. I need to call Best Buy and Walmart. It would suck to wait in a line and not get one. Is anyone else woried about not being able to get component cables. I don't wanna ever have to see the Wii not in 480p.
  7. I played Excite Truck on sunday. All I can say is its a whole new experience. It is tough to describe it, but everyone else that I saw play it did the same thing as me. Struggled at first, but picked it up in under 5 min...all with a smile. I will for sure be getting one, along with Zelda and Red Steel. This is going to revolutionize FPS and RTS games as "clicking and dragging" feels even better than with a mouse. I can't wait for Metroid...I just wish it could output in HD, but I will probably pick up a PS3 sometime over the summer for my graphic fix.
  8. Wasn't he the #2 prospect in all of baseball at one time for the White Sox? I remember hearing from several Sox fans that he never learned to hit a AAA curveball for whatever that is worth.
  9. Anyone who has watched Sheets run, field his position or bat can see that he has trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time. Speculation here: How much of that has been due to his bad back throughout his early years? It came out after his surgury a couple years ago that there were times he was told to just stand there and not swing when he would go up. If that is the case, I can reasonably assume that he was not taking much BP. It would be difficult even for Pujols to hit MLB pitching if it was not something he practiced. A healthy Ben Sheets through his early years could have avoided the poor fielder/batter label that has been tagged on him.
  10. Last week I picked up The Roots new one Game Theory, probably 4-5 tracks that are vintage Roots stuff, I'd say 3 out of 5. Im going to have to get that. Thanks for the review...didnt know they had a new alblum out.
  11. One Schlitz down, One Pirate run anti-mojo aversion completed. I swear I remembered that this beer was semi-nasty, but my palate has had ample time to unrefine itself; its not bad! Their malt liquor is great too...its no Mickeys, but still.
  12. That curveball was breathtaking, and Im not just saying that to be nice.
  13. Boy. Your team's been getting beat up and needs your leadership, you got a young kid on the mound who you need to keep an eye on, and you get yourself ejected in the first inning ... between half innings ... about something as meaningless as the home plate ump's reaction to how Brady leaned into a pitch? I couldn't disagree more. Stand up for your players and get them fired up. Hopefully it works...
  14. Weeks just showed that 5th tool. What an amaizing throw...no time to set his feet or anything and a perfect strike.
  15. ah ha, roomate was using my mlb.tv password again, cut us both out. Unless you guys managed to shut down all of MLB.tv, I dont think that was the problem. It cut out for me too and just came back on.
  16. what happened? mlb.tv cut out as gross was battling. Happend to me too, and this isnt the first time. Whats the point of paying for this if its not going to work?
  17. Im not sure how, but I just did a cartwheel.
  18. That was about as close as you can come to a game breaking wide open. An inch shorter and Brady can't get to that ball.
  19. We can't give outs when our pitcher can't pitch strikes.
  20. Davis should be taking Hall out for a steak dinner tonight.
  21. Yea, not too much question about that one. How far up the scoreboard did that hit?
  22. I've gotta say I'm really suprised with Ohka so far today. I figured he'd get beaten up by this Mets lineup, but that hasn't been happening. As of now he's averaging ~13 pitches per inning. All those flyballs dont seem to be carrying. This is the type of day/stadium that Ohka can dominate in.
  23. Come on Prince...dont make the same baserunning mistake both times.
  24. Damn...at least we made it interesting.
