  1. RIP to former major league outfielder Jim Wynn. Jim spent most of his career in Houston and his number is retired by the Astros, but he ended his career in Milwaukee as a Brewer, playing in 36 games with the Crew.
  2. RIP to 2001 Brewers third baseman Tony Fernandez who passed away yesterday at the age of 57. Tony was obviously better known for his time in Toronto and maybe the Yankees but he did play in 28 games for the Crew in his final season, part of a 17 year big league career. https://www.wcpo.com/sports/baseball/reds/tony-fernandez-blue-jays-legend-and-former-reds-player-dies-at-57
  3. RIP to 2000-2001 Brewers pinch hitter and outfielder Angel Echevarria. Apparently fell and hit his head after having a bad stomach virus. Really tragic. Echevarria is already the third former Brewer to pass away in 2020 joining Ed Sprague and Narciso Elvira. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/former-colorado-rockies-chicago-cubs-outfielder-angel-echevarria-dies-232150387.html
  4. In an awful story, RIP to 1990 Brewers pitcher Narciso Elvira who was murdered along with his family in Vera Cruz, Mexico. Narciso was purchased by Milwaukee from the Mexican League in 1986 and played in one season for the Brewers in the big leagues. Link below: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-51293965
  5. Sure hope you’re right.
  6. It is like your birthday. You celebrate being 50 when your 50th year alive is complete...not when it started. They aren't 50 years old until the 2020 season starts...then you celebrate 50 years. 2010 they celebrated 40. For what it’s worth, they celebrated 20 years in 1989 and 25 years in 1994. The team has been very inconsistent on this issue in the past.
  7. This is a really good point. I know for certain that Fred Holdsworth is reachable through the mail.
  8. Yep. Inconvenience for some traded for improved safety for many. A small minority of people will be put off by it, but there are plenty of additional seating options for them to choose from if they decide it's too much of a negative on their personal experience. I mean for what it’s worth there are also plenty of seating options people can already choose from that aren’t behind nets right now too. Just saying.
  9. Bob Betts saying Billy Jo Robidoux is still a personal favorite
  10. Ritz Carlton Pentagon City when they come to DC
  11. On a selfish note I really don’t like that the Brewers never seem to play in Miami or Atlanta on a weekend.
  12. Am I crazy or did I miss who we sent down off the 25 man roster to clear a spot for Lyles? Current roster on mlb.com has 26 guys.
  13. Just booked a room at the Westin. Here’s hoping!
  14. Hello all, Heading to Pittsburgh for the Brewers series this weekend for a last minute trip. Does anyone on this board happen to know which hotel the team stays at? I am planning on doing some family autograph hunting and any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and go Brewers!
  15. Wonder what the corresponding roster move might be. Excited for the game tonight!
  16. Didn’t Mark Leiter have a brewers police card made? Has to be something out there for him.
  17. On a plane right now... about to take off and fly halfway across the country to Milwaukee and beautiful Miller Park
  18. Does anyone happen to know if Uecker signs anything other than the team card?
  19. This is a good idea. I don’t live in Wisconsin and was going to fly back for it. Hearing that it was a sell-out made me change plans and just not want to deal with the madness for just a couple hours but a two day event may make it worth it for those of us out-of-towners.
  20. He had worse numbers than Schoop last season and Schoop got run out of town. I guess as a potential buy low guy but he is ageing and was horrid last year.
  21. I think the team needs a Brewers Hall of Fame to highlight the organization and its history. Could probably be built around the Selig Experience which would become a part of the larger HOF. 2019 will be the 50th season of Brewers baseball in Milwaukee and not a peep from the team about it. If they want to encourage a love of baseball in the younger generation and do something to bind fans of all ages to the team and the city then maybe try and go with the rich history of the game instead of a shopping mall but that’s just me.
  22. This is very helpful and thank you. Have you had any luck on sportscardforum.com? I have been messing around on there a bit but I think your sportscollectors.net recommendation seems to be the best. Thanks again and best of luck on your auto ball project
  23. So I am working on a massive (and I know probably impossible) project. I recently have set out to acquire an autographed Brewers card from every single guy who has appeared for the Brewers since the team's founding. I know that not all guys had a Brewers card or were even alive to sign a Brewers card but will see what I can do and maybe fill in some with autographed index cards if need be. I am posting this here because I am hoping that others might be able to offer some helpful tips on where I can make cards for guys who never had a Brewers card made by an established baseball card company. I am also actively seeking donations of either normal or autographed cards as well. Have gotten a number of guys in person over the years and have been on EBay since starting this project a few weeks ago. Will be actively starting TTM in the near future. In any event, wish me luck and if anyone has extra autographed or non-autographed cards or good pieces of advice please feel free to reach out. Thanks!
