  1. Love that Hardy/Weeks infield D. Way to get us out of a jam. Keep dealing Supp.
  2. Not to beat a dead horse here on page 50, but all I can say is awesome. I just got back from the game, and couldn't help smiling a bit during the "Let's Go Brewers" chants that could be heard around the stadium in the 12th. Perhaps I am just a bit caught up in the moment, but it seemed like Brewer nation was out at Wrigley tonight, fans becoming more vocal, and certainly after the game there were high fives to go around for anyone wearing Brewers gear. I think I might have to call in for work tomorrow since I'll be hoarse anyways but it was without question one of the top five baseball games I have ever attended in my life. Excuse this post if its a bit too rah-rah; its late and that win was incredible.
  3. Bill Hall is being given a day off not a benching. If there is one thing that we should have learned about Yost's managerial style by now its that he doesn't allow a slump to alter his belief in a particular player. Turnbow and Jenkins have been examples where he played this hand for perhaps a bit too long, Hardy and Weeks can be seen as examples of this being a positive managerial trait. Also, without being able to cite particular numbers, I would say that the vast majority of times that Yost gives a starter a day off he does so at a time when a scheduled off-day actually makes it a two day rest which the Thursday off day would have done. Now with the rainout it will be three and maybe four off-days, and whenever the Crew is back playing my guess is that Hall will be as well.
  4. It seems like the Pads could use Clark, as their younger guys have played more corner outfield, and their available starter in CF is Termel Sledge. I remember reading one quote (sorry, don't have a link) out of Padres camp which said that it was almost universally decided by the Pads brass that Sledge is not starting CF material.
  5. Not a bad outing for Sarfate either.
  6. Is it Villanueva or Vargas today? Powell's starting lineup on 620 said it was Vargas.
  7. Well said Jeenus. I wonder if anyone has any statistics on the percentage of Major League managers who use spring training statistics for anyone but fringe players? Of course Sarfate is a guy that wants to have a good camp, but he is also a guy who is not going to "blow" his chances at a future roster spot because of two bad outings.
