  1. I have never really liked Bill Hall. I think his approach at the plate is bad and his good year(2006) was above where he really projects. However, he did give us some memorable (see pink-bat) hits early in his career. I do not think he is an above average major league player. I think TGJ is heading down this path now. There seems to be a lot of love for him to be a regular starter in centerfield. I hope "the mustache" realizes he is not the center fielder of the future before he buys out his arby years like he did with Hall.
  2. Tori Hunter just got a standing-O at the Metrodome and he left for more money. If Jenks gets booed it will be really hard for me to defend Brewers fans knowledge of the game in future discussions.
  3. The first of many blown 3-run leads for the Brew Crew this year? ugghhhh. Reminds me of the game against the Cubs before the All-Star break.
  4. Bill Hall is terrible on the base paths anyways. He shouldn't even be trying to steal and a single probably scores him anyways.
  5. I've never seen Mr. 3000. Is that worth putting in the DVD player.
  6. 2nd game Prince Fielder
  7. Well done razzorsharp and rawbecht. I read great posts with great interest. Now I'm trying to figure out why.
  8. First of, let me say welcome to posting on BF.net geddymd73. I rarely "boo" at games and I don't think it will be possible to communicate your displeasure with a manager's decision by booing at a game. Maybe the Yost-haters should start writing angry letters instead.? Anyways you seem like you'll fit right in here with the slight back-handed insults to Yost intwined in your post. I do have one question about the following though. Sure, I feel like booing when Ned puts out his Sunday lineup, but you can't do it unless the specific display of incompetence is right in front of us. Is this because he rests too many regular players on Sunday or because you do not aggree with resting players at all or because your just upset that you went to the game and do not get to see your favorite players? If it is the last one I would not aggree that booing is very appropriate.
  9. Yankees-Blue Jays? I took off work too, but I'm actually pretty excited anyways even if it does get rained out. The Sandlot is a perfect happy pick- me-up type of movie to watch if we end up missing the game.
  10. Booing is not a good way to communicate how you feel about something. I also find a lot of booing to be just plain wrong in a lot of cases. Like fans booing Brady Clark. I'm really afraid Jenkins is going to get booed when he actually deserves a standing ovation from the Miller Park faithful. It seems to me a lot of booing is done by more casual fans anyways.
  11. So I was watching a League of There Own tonight when my brother called me. We're planning on an all day cookout type of deal and watching the Brewers play the Cubs to celebrate the start of the season. So he told me I should have saved that movie to watch in case the game gets rained out. Which leads me to my question. What movie would you watch if your having over people to watch a game and it gets rained out. Major League: Always excellent, but a little crude for younger audiences Some other movie completely unrelated to baseball or maybe not even related to sports at all? The movie I'd choose is the Sandlot. It has that whole Princess Bride type of thing going on where it is universally appealing. So if the game is rained out Monday we'll be watching that.
  12. For some reason "A League of their Own" makes me tear up. It kind of hits close to home, since the Racine Belles were featured. I mostly cried at the end when they reunite at the Hall of Fame and Kit and Dottie hug, and then they show the picture of them during the AAGPBL Inaugural Season. It also hit close to home because it illustrated the rivalry between an older and younger sibling, which I can relate to. A lot of moments at the end of movie made me cry, when Dottie wanted to reunite with Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks) only to find out he died years earlier and then Dottie running into the little boy who said, "You're going to lose" and learning his mother died. Just thinking about the moments makes me want to find where I stored the VHS tape since I don't have the DVD for the movie and then try to figure out where I put my old VCR if I even still have it. I just watched this movie again tonight. I was in the mood for it after I read about it on this thread. It was far better then I remembered and did have some touching moments in it. Jon Lovitz is awesome in it.
  13. Ohhh no Brewers19, now I have to watch the Brave Little Toaster again. Just the title is enough to make me laugh..... then think about why I laugh and get a little knot in my throat. I can't believe nobody would sleep with blanky except for a picture of Rob. Ohhhhhhhh where is the compassion in this world that we are suppose to have.
  14. This is like what the Roman's did after they became an empire. They tried to destroy everything related to a particular ruler if he was ousted as a poor ruler (statues, markers, etc.). It didn't work though, we still have records of all of them and it won't work with Bonds. He is as much a part of At&T park as crazy out of place flashbacks are a part of Family Guy episodes since season 4.
  15. Oh come on, there have been more idiotic posts then that. Like this one. Matterson says, "Mexico is a walnut."
  16. Thanks for the tips rwa, I'm going to be buying all the stuff I need on Sunday (the first day I don't have to work). I'm taking vaction for Monday and grilling out with my bro. I'm going to try your recipe and marinade overnight.... I hope that is not too long. Is that to long? Let me know and I won't soak the chicken for so long. I need more recipe's cause we're actually grilling out every Sunday all season long and I need to be bringing at least my AA game.
  17. Fox and the Hound.... Ughh they're suppose to be best friends.
  18. When I'm grilling hamburgers I use Oregeno, Season Salt, and garlic salt. Then I melt cheddar cheese over the top of it. That makes it taste like a pizza burger sort of. It's pretty good.
  19. I guess I might need to resubscribe to XM then. I just wish they always played Uecker instead of the home town announcers. I remember just cringing at the Cubs "Homers" on the radio.
  20. Hey rwa if you are still looking at thhis thread, How long do you marinade your white wine, soy sauce, and sesame oil conncotion and what are the porportions on it? Also does any white wine work pretty much the same. Opening day is coming up and I want to try a new marinade for our day of grilling.
  21. I filled out the survey, but let me say I do not believe in Cluthyness. When you define a situation as clutch you're bound to get a smaller sample size. Some players are going to be slightly above or below there normal averages. I think this is a product of luck and has nothing to do with a players personality (i.e. clutchyness). Therefore I would want Prince up to bat since I think he is our best overall hitter.
  22. Sweet shirts Brian, I'll be buying one for sure. Keep up the good work.
  23. I liked BattleFront, but like Pitchh league I haven't played KOTOR so my basis is not really fair. It's hard for me to get into RPGish and longer tyhpe games recently.
  24. I just gotta say that the Rubik's cube is the devil's toy, I got really close to solvin it, and I think right now at 3am it might be time to finish that little project.
  25. Well, here I am again, hello BF.net. I missed you during the few hours I wasn't plugged into the internet.
