  1. Technically, you can't challenge a play after the 7th - right? I was listening and driving so I might be wrong, but Matheny shouldn't have been able to challenge that Holliday hit in the 8th'ish inning that was overturned to be called safe. Yes, I'm whining. The results of the replays this year are so pathetic that - if you are a manager - you should just challenge anything that doesn't go your way, because it seems like a coin flip whether or not you're going to get the call reversed.
  2. Nelson needs to refine one more pitch and then he'll be okay... but by the 2nd and 3rd time seeing him in a game, players are picking up on what he throws and hitting it- hard. Horrible game. That was probably the season, but I'll hold out hope until after this huge Pirates series.
  3. Gomez hasn't quit, he's just... not a smart player. The lights are on, but there's nobody home.
  4. I don't get on Roenicke much but I question multiple decisions he has made tonight. If we win, great... But I feel sick as of right now.
  5. Exciting week, as every game is the most important of the year. I'm still mad about Braun's strikezone in his final at-bat last night, though.
  6. Jeffress' slider looked so good tonight. BK is my least favorite Brewer. I am scared.
  7. I have stayed positive until attending Sunday's game. I guess I need to just lower my expectations and try to enjoy the wild card chase, now. It could be worse, these games will be very meaningful this week and next.
  8. I was at the game today. It was probably the most pathetic game I've ever been to. The team just looked completely defeated from the moment they stepped onto the field. They are quite obviously mentally destroyed right now, and it shows with the multitude of stupid errors that happened on the field today and over the past week+. Don't get me wrong, Wainright and that filthy change-up were really tough, but they were throwing it around like my softball team today. I've been a very positive fan the entire year, but I have no faith in this team making the playoffs... and frankly just getting the wild card is a huge disappointment to me already. The most frustrating thing to me is that I can't really explain why this is happening... I look around at the team and for the most part I really like it. I think we could use a better hitting SS and 1B but other than that I think the position players are pretty strong. I also like most of the pitchers. I don't know why they have played so poorly for so long now.
  9. Schafer ew. Oh you know just the biggest game of the season today.
  10. I was looking for this thread. We need it now more than ever. A little more than a week ago a lot of people thought the Brewers were going to win the World Series after sweeping the mighty Dodgers, so keep in mind that it's a roller coaster AND a marathon. And there's still plenty of time left for things to get worse OR much better. The 7 Cardinal games can swing things in one direction or the other pretty quickly. I am definitely concerned, but there is no reason to give up yet.
  11. Yes, this thread is kind of ridiculous... but I will say that before tonight's start Gallardo's ERA was the lowest it's been in his career. He certainly has bounced back this year. Just sayin'.
  12. The general impression given is that Khrush Davis CANNOT play 1B.
  13. why doesn't Roenicke use Gorzo more? Is it because we have Smith and Duke? His numbers seem great.
  14. Yeah, for making the league minimum you take the great shortstop defense. If he continues to be a sub .700 OPS player (I realize he doesn't even have a .600 OPS as of right now - yuck), I would think the Brewers will keep him around until he hits arbitration and then let him walk. I am so glad we didn't sign him to a long deal.
  15. I'm a SSH since 2010 and we usually sit in 212. We got bumped to 210. I'll take it.
  16. Like Gomez, I think we should enjoy getting Lucroy during the prime of his career and approach the subject once he gets closer to free agency... but most likely someone else will end up paying him for what he's already done rather than what he will do during his next contract. And that's fine, but I don't want it to be the Brewers.
  17. I'm late to the party, what is the premise of the sitcom that he's going to pitch to Jerry Seinfeld?
  18. It sure would be nice to pull away from the Cards over this series. Then we can worry about the Pirates.
  19. Come on, just completing full sentences is a chore for Davey, I don't expect him to know the difference between a hook and a slice. Exactly. Sentences are hard for him.
