  1. This will be Buchholz's first start of his career. Game. Set. Match. Astros. Oh well, we lose again to a rookie making a debut. That was a fun game thread, too bad it's over.
  2. During commercials I'm actually watching "Trick Bowling" on ESPN. Will someone please help me? I need help!
  3. Today's game is all abut the power of Peeps. Peeps are on te side of the Brewers. It's all about the Peeps. http://www.boxofficeprophets.com/images2/peeps.jpg
  4. Brewer Fever with the most excellent idea for a promotion ever: Ohka's middle name is kazoo. So: When he pitches at home, take a kazoo to the game. Brilliant!

It was lovely to see the bats come to life a little, too, but Ohka was the player of the game for me. _____________ Brewers P/PA Watch: currently 4.08, 1st in MLB (4/15) Corey Koskie: Riding into the Danger Zone - Kenny Loggins ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ gregmag Brewerfan.net All-Star Posts: 1726 (4/15/06 3:51 pm) | Del &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp New Post Re: 4/15 player of the game thread For me it was Ohka, whether you want to talk about overall importance of his contribution to the win or performance against expectations. 6. Sorry, but this (although a fine idea) should be in the specific game thread. Otherwise, while trying preserve past games for future refrence they will be booted by excessive threads.
  7. Autographs available just prior to all home games. Same time and location for practice next week.
  8. I was impressed as well. We got some good aluminum on the ball and there was some flashy glove work. Looks like we are going to be a competitive team. It was nice to get a little of the rust off today, now I just need to take a bath in Icy Hot or Aspercream. Even my hair is sore right now. Thanks for showing up you guys.
  9. Don't forget that WSSP will be having another brewerfan.net segment on their post game show today.
  10. I'll be wearing a read nashville sounds hat, brown cargo shorts, and a red plaid short-sleeve button down shirt to tonight's Stars game Do you have the white taped glasses as well? A pocket protector? Black socks and sandals? Nobody is gonna sit by you in that outfit my friend.
  11. I believe metal cleats are fine for our league.
  12. Oddly enough- Both working now. EZ board must be owned by the Tribune in Chicago. I just wanted to remind you guys about softball practice.
  13. Don't forget about the Long Wongs event tonight! Long Wong's
  14. I need to get a hold of softball players via inbox for announcements, etc. The following people have their inbox turned off: ajay jimbo please turn them on. Thanks
  15. I didn't see this previously in the IGT, so here goes: Why did Ned pull the -defensive- Koskie to put Hall at third and then pull the more defensively sound Cirillio for the lesser glove bearing Weeks? Was this purely for offense? If so, why not just rely on your bench? (and not put Weeks in on D or move Hall over)
  16. Cardinals with 3 runs on just 5 hits and they have 3 errors so far. This is a game we really need to win at this point. Early in the season, I know but this is a game that'll sting if we end up losing. I expected 1 win in this series, thought we had a shot at two. (Ithought we'd take game 1) Losing today would stich in my craw for a bit.
  17. Thank You Taguchi and a 2 out pop up bunt to get the Crew out of the inning. 3-3 but no further damage done. It sounded to me like Pujols' walk was of the unintentional-intentional type. Came back to bite us right in the rear end though.
  18. Hey everyone. It's me here again to remind you about tomorrow's game gathering at Long Wong's. Lots of give aways, specials, etc. Show up, bring friends too!
  19. About Jenkins: He was trying to be quick and have only 2 score. Ohka and Bush both look like total crap in their second start. They were locked in their first starts and their second starts are all over the place. I had just tuned in the radio and it sounded to me from Uecker's account that Jenks and Weeks combined to totally blow it. Either way, was he charged with the error or was it ruled a hit? Ueck sounded like it was going to be changed. The problem was bush hitting eckstein, throw a pitch right down the middle to juan e. and then walking pujols. Another pitch down the middle to edmonds and then not backing up third on the throw to third from weeks I didn't hear any of that, but it's not a huge surprose after his start to the game. I listened for a bit, then turned it off, then back on to hear it seem as if it was an error festival.
  20. Dear Geoff Jenkins- You stink, and it's not my fault. signed, your baseball glove.
  21. oof. I just tuned in. Jenks with his third error already in a young season, Weeks with another error, what was a 4-3 game is now 8-3 St.Louis. Man this is gross. What is going on with Jenkins?
  22. Paul Wong called me today, he's looking forward to our Friday game with him. Let's show him how well brewerfan travels and get a ton of people there! yeah, it's good friday it's "good" to go watch some ball this Friday! *** Don't forget about prizes and so forth- you have a chance to win game tickets, BF.Net T-shirt, other stuff, so SHOW UP in hoards!!
  23. I bought one, I know ICN bought one as well. I also bought 10 practice balls.
  24. Badgerfan writes: I already posted a topic on this a week ago, so sorry if I'm beating a dead horse... Not to stir the pot here, but if you posted it only a week ago, why not revive the old post? Creating a new one creates several more page views which costs this site money. I can totally understand keeping the actual "in-game" talk in one thread. In other words, the discussion about the game while it's taking place. But I specifically wanted to start a thread about 6 hours after the game ended about what I thought was the "worst thing about the game" and see what others thought. Which is something that took place "in the game", correct? again, page views for a new thread dealing with an already existing thread topic costs page views= $$ I love Brewerfan.net. It beats the heck out of the "official" Brewers website message board or the JSonline message board, but the moderators on the forum are nuts... I'm not sure that I'm "nuts" but if I were, I wouldn't know it anyhow. What makes us "go nuts" is the fact that new threads get posted about a topic already being discussed. Let's say that Ben sheets is going to start on Sunday. Now, Sheeter getting the nod for Sunday will obviously be talked about in the in game thread, right? Why then would we need to "double" the page views about Sheets and cost us more money than necessary? The IGT is sufficient to talk about him throwing and threads like "Ben is starting today" "Mets are in trouble, Sheets gets the start" "Ben Sheets: is he really ready to start today?" all say the same thing, all easily talked about in one thread, not 3 which is 3x the page views and costs more money. I swear the moderators enjoy moving and locking threads more than discussing baseball. Nope. Wrong. You try moderating once. It isn't easy. Decisions about threads, etc will usually spur negative feelings from someone, and that's unfortunate. We moderate as little as possible actually. Threads get locked because of only a few things: Personal attacks- duplicate threads- That's about it really. I sometimes close Bottom of the 9th! threads so that we don't inadvertently get the correct answer before the contest has begun. PS- You better read this fast because it might be on the "Complaints/Non-baseball" forum soon If you knew that this would clutter up the major league forum and this topic belonged in the issues forum then WHY WHY WHY did you put it in the wrong forum to begin with? You just made a thread complaining about moving threads that oddly enough you -knew- would have to be moved. Quite simply, excess page views cost money. purchasing EZ Supporter is just $12.00 for an entire year and saves us money for the site. Maybe if more folks had EZ Supporter we could save some cash. This thread was moved not to irritate you, but because it belongs in the issues forum, which you even stated yourself.
