  1. FWIW, I've just been given two $25 gift certificates by berniebrewer4life. so far we have two division prizes taken care of. Division winner with most points gets first choice of gifts, then second most points, etc. keep posted for more prizes.
  2. DHonks- I need your jersey number and name. Our roster is at 19 players. I will make room for only 1 more player. If you're on the border, act now because once I hit 20, that's it. Also, if someone's plans change and they find that softball is too much of a commitment, please give me as much notice as you can so I can react to it. I need to have the Jersey information set and submitted to the printer very soon so they are available to us on time. Once your jersey has been submitted for printing, you're obligated to it.
  3. He's got the "Eye of the Tiger" gonna be a power hitter or a power pitcher. What's his screen name going to be? I bet you ten bucks when you guys leave the hospital you will drive like 5 under the speed limit, white knuckled, and pointing out the 5,000 idiots on the road. Then, you'll get home, henry will start crying, and you'll be in shock. "No nurses to come help you!" Life has changed forever for you and Kathryn. Congratulations! Jamie, Mary, and Rachel <-- future Jenny Finch
  4. Okie Doke. Lemmie know what number you want, and the name you want on the back of your jersey. I'll put you on the team.
  5. I have a small update for those of you playing on the BF.net softball team. I'd also like to say that from now on softball information will be in the Issues/Contests Forum. I won't have the schedule untill March 29th. I get that info at a meeting on the 28th of march. Schedules will be available assuming the Super Saver League has been filled with all 6 teams; we were the fourth team to get in. - Our season starts on May 8th, and runs for ten weeks. - Not sure of the type of ball we will use untill the meeting. (core/compression) - It appears as if metal spikes are allowed. - If we win the league, we are given a plaque, which will then be given to Brian. - I must have your portion of the team registration fee and your individual player fee at the first practice. date is TBD and will be announced. Players will also be required to fill out a palyer card at the first practice. - Roster is currently at 18 players. Team registration fee was $155.00. Each player is responsible for $9.00 team fee and their $12.00 (resident of MKE) or $24.00 (non-resident) player fee. That makes it $21.00 I need to collect from each of you. - Softball shirts will be available to each player in the BF.Net store. Jerseys must be obtained by the first game. - I will have a list of the rules and regulations available for viewing at all practices and games. - All players must notify me if they are unable to attend a game. Roster is as follows; please view it and make sure names, and numbers are correct as this will be submitted to the printer. Player Roster 18 Players. . 8. Looks like we may just have to start up a Fantasy Baseball "smack talk" thread.
  9. ** Just a reminder folks, this league is for Brewerfan.net members only. There is no minimun # of posts required, but you must be a site member.*** Also, I'd like to give a -huge- thanks to Iron Chef Napalm for all his efforts for this league. I'm still working on prizes, so hang tight for that announcement. The Noogy jersey is the Grand Prize, but as ICN stated, each division winner gets a cool prize.
  10. I thought this thread was for griping about brewerjamie15. (hawing) Thanks hawing, I appreciate it. lol edit: actually, if you take a look at this thread from top to bottom it goes a bit like this: Jamie is the new PR guy Congrats How do we get a media pass? Why was a thread closed? some talk about squirrels madbad2000 needs to get ez supporter he has it, was not turned on It'd be rather appropriate if this puppy were shut down don't ya think? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  11. You're fine. No need to worry about # of posts to play.
  12. We are proud to announce the new BF.Net Fantasy Baseball League! For the first time we will be having a Brewerfan.Net Fantasy Baseball League which will include prizes! Iron Chef Napalm has generously agreed to be League Commissioner and will run a rotisserie league. ICN will post his details of draft, scoring system, etc. C'mon out and sign up to battle against fellow members and let's have some fun! Prize List is being updated currently, and once it has been finalized, I will release the information. Watch for prizes as the list grows Prize List Nick Neugebauer #32 batting practice authentic jersey donated by Toby H. our very own Power 50 editor. (aka: And That) Use this thread to ask your questions, sign up, and read Zac's details of the league.
  13. Greg- I've read what you said and I understand your feelings. Your opinion and the opinion of -all- posters on BF.Net are all worth quite a bit. I'm here for all of you and I hope that I'll be able to represent this fine community the way it deserves. As I said, it's kind of an odd situation I'm in here, trying to speak with the very same people we hold under a magnifying glass. I too, have and will continue to disect articles, etc about the Brewers. I need to make sure that once talking about announcers, etc. that there are no callus attacks made. I'll be sure that in the future I have a bit more tolerance, but I also hope that ultimately, the decision I made was with best intentions. I appreciate everyone's well wishes, and the ability to speak about this issue in a mature and productive manner. I'd also like to invite everyone to hold on to their socks, because in the near future I will be unveiling some really cool ideas that I'm working on. I think some of them will really blow you away. Jamie
  14. Greg- Fair enough. I understand your point. I was going to throw the following up there, but I was hoping that the issue would die down first. I think that if you read this, you'll see that my locking of the thread was purely in the intrest of sropping further insults, and attempting to salvage Olsen's opinion of the site. (see below) Recently we had a Drew Olsen chat thread on the Major League board that quite frankly, got out of hand. Regardless if the comments were supposed to be "poking fun" of Olsen or intentionally mean spirited, I can honestly say it was embarrassing. From a Public Relations stand point, I'm in a unique situation and I'd hope that you can all understand my dilemma. Yes, we do want everyone to have freedom of speech here on Brewerfan.net but at the same point, we can not tolerate the belittling of fellow posters or reporters and broadcasters. How can I possibly serve YOU as Brewerfan.net readers if the site itself is causing animosity towards the very people I am trying to attract? I realize that from time to time we will disagree with comments made by the media; they are subjecting themselves to it by the very nature of their jobs. Pointing out errors or critiquing one's work is completely acceptable. Flat out insulting individuals is not what we are about here at Brewerfan.net. So in the future, please think about your post before you hit the reply button. If you can honestly say that what you typed would not be an insult if directed at you, then go ahead and post it.
  15. lol. Oddly enough, our power went out on our block the other day. I called to find out why and they told me it was a squirrell trying to eat some wire. There wasn't much left of the squirrell. HAHAhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  16. Thank you very much for the well wishes. I am anxious to get some things started so we can gain more positive public exposure. Also, I am open to suggestions for social gatherings, or other ideas creating public awarness for this fine site.
  17. ....uuuuhhh- don1481 I hereby challenge you to attend our BF.Net winter meetings. As you can see by my time of post, I like to have a good time, and I'll even give you a ride to and possibly fro. Clear your calander, say you'll go, and attend. I'll hand you your first beer.
  18. Brian becomes a free agent and we stand a strong possiblity of becoming yankeefan.net. PF gets my vote for reply of the year so far. Now -that- was funny. Yeah, I may have jumped the gun a bit on the whole Happy Anniversary thing, but I'm a sentamental kind of guy. Without this site, I'd be just another baseball fan, but now that I've found the promised land, my wife says I'm a "sicko" for Brewers Baseball and Brewerfan.net.
  19. Hey folks, I just wanted to let you all know that it's Brewerfan.net's -fifth- anniversary. Let's all take a second and give Brian a -huge- thank you for all he does in giving us a place to talk Brewers baseball. This site takes quite a bit of work and it's much appreciated. Fortunately, Brian has the help of a great staff of moderators who also pour a bunch of time and effort into the site. I for one want to say thanks to all of you guys for what you do to keep my addiction going strong. I've gained a lot of baseball knowledge because of this well run site. Happy Fifth Anniversary Brewerfan.net! Here's to another five!! perhaps a sticky for this thread untill the season starts?
  20. and the other? She's going to Chi-town for a few weeks but wants me to call her... mmm... I rule. Sorry dude. That was me in drag. I just wanted a free beer, cause as Pink Floyd put it: "I was pretty drunk at the time...."
  21. Congrats Brian. Pretty cool to have 2,000 members of your site. Good job. Click Me for guess the 2000th member link. ccbrew wins $40 Million for his guess: January 15, 2006. I'm a sucker for pointless contests.
