  1. Wow, that cereal box of "O's" with the Overbay bobble head in it that they gave out to the media looked pretty cool. Wonder if our fair BF.Net leader qualifies as a media type? That would be a neat item to have.
  2. I'd like to applaud the fine job that the moderators do for this site. These moderators are often the same folks who contribute to BF.Net's success with great articles, and informative posts. I realize that knowing when to "step-in" or "ease off" requires a delicate touch especially when dealing with almost 2,000 users. I think that people need to be more cognisent of that fact and not be insulted if they had started a thread that was locked or deleted because of an odd turn the thread took. Brian mentioned that it's easy to misinterpret someone's post, which is something we all need to keep in mind. Honestly, it's easy to take something the wrong way and then get defensive. One other way a post can get quickly shut down is when a poster decides to flat out insult another person, or be condescending at the very least. These people not only appear foolish to the individual that was insulted, but they appear foolish to the entire board, so why not just disregard them and let silence be your reply? One thing I'd like to mention along with the previous thoughts is this: I once saw it said that "If you don't want your 5 year old saying a word, don't post it here." Could having the word "pissed" added to the curse filter be considered? Thanks guys. I appreciate the efforts of the Moderators and Brian (especially Brian) and I appreciate the fine conversation by all of you here.
  3. Sure, there are several bars open on Sunday nights. I can't go out that night, but you guys may want to check out some bars around Miller Park.
  4. Closed on Sundays.
  5. By the way- It's $1 PBR night again so some of you east siders -better- show up at Listwan's on Brady! (around 10:30- 11:00 p.m.)
  6. Knock Knock: "Who's there?" "It's me, I'm drunk."
  7. I'd like to see the work "pissed" added to the curse filter. I'm sorry if it's a petty thought, but it seems to me that fans of this respected site could better express themselves than use such an ignorant term.
  8. Yeah, our hitters usually do just great against first appearance pitchers. Not only can they not figure the guy out, but they appear as if they are actually trying to help the guy set new records in the majors. Brewers bats don't work, basepaths are as odd and uncharted as a new galaxy, and baseball bats seem to be foriegn objects. Our offense is comparable only to that of a rock: a rock just sits there doing nothing at all, unless taken by the hand and moved along. Our offense acts as is needs a guide dog to lead it down the path of production. I'm also looking forward to Daron and Bill talking about Doug Davis and his hair. Over the past two games we've gotten brilliant analysis about the man's hair and since he's on the mound this evening, I'm sure it will be quite the focal point. Davis could not shut down a car engine let alone the Cardinal offense. Davis could not pitch a sale of booze to an alcoholic. Davis could not last 6 or 7 innings on the bench, much less the mound. I hope that Davis does not get too bad a neck injury from tonight's start.= pitch, look over shoulder watch the ball. Pitch, look over shoulder watch the ball. repeat several times an inning......
  9. Duro PH's for Eveland, and grounds to short.
  10. Weeks sure does seem to throw the ball awfully low to first on the double play ball.
  11. Daron Sutton needs to learn how to call a ballgame. Taguchi was all over that ball and Sutton makes it seem like Miller was gonna get a gapper to right field. I've often heard him get all pumped up yelling about a ball hit that barely gets to the warning track....
  12. These battling battlers have battled throughout this entire battle.
  13. Man did we get lucky there. Double play to get outta the inning with a 2-1 lead and a defense that obviously wanted to give up more runs.
  14. Geoff Jenkins is on: http://www.rubyriver.com/Sizzler/fire.jpg
  15. Jenkins .303 with 34 HR in 2000 Nice call MJ. As a whole, we named off three of the four who have done it. edit: Oglivie Coop Jaha Jenks
  16. Ways you can score from third with two outs: WP, PB, infield hit, balk, error I know and I se your point. I just think that you have a better chance at advancing the runner to third by swinging the bat. However this conversation that I started was with a runner on second and ONE out.
  17. Jenks hits on off the LF wall and -barely- gets in at second for a one out double. Man that guy is hot.
  18. Aflac trivia question: Who was the last Brewer to hit 30 HR and .300 in the same season? jenks? otherwise I thought Cooper.
  19. c'mon FSN get with it. It's 2-0 -not- 1-0. Daron Sutton must be in charge of the scoreboard. Daron Sutton: "...duh, I really don't understand why Ohka is not bunting here..." Bill: "blah blah blah..." something of an explanation. How about runner on second with one out is a situation where a bunt does not help because with 2 outs a sac fly does not score the run? I'm firmly of the belief that you bunt in that situation every single time.
  20. Ya know what I hate most about three up three down innings? We don't score any runs.
  21. If some BF.Netters show up, yeah. I'll jump off the wagon and into a pool of beer, not to come out untill it's all gone.
  22. Attention East Siders! This is Thursday. I'm thinking that there should be an East Side Brewers fan gathering at Bruno's bar this evening. (it's also called Listwans) Right on Brady Street. $1 PBR's, Special Exports, Point, and some other beer. I'm thinking around 10:30-11:00 p.m. ? We could play darts, chess, and a video bowling game. edit: ....and then of course, post here afterwards...
  23. Never a doubt in my mind. This team defines clutch, this is the greatest team in the league right now.
  24. Weeks sure seems to be getting beaned a lot lately. Maybe he's trying to be like Fernando Vina?
  25. I'm playing Chess online, and have the radio on, but just barely listening. (concentrating on the game) who gave up the last two runs?
