  1. OMG pete rose is now interviewing with the Cinci folks. He needs a booth job. He's slimy, but he tells it like it is. Forfeit lineup
  2. I've been to NYC twice in the last two years on tour with my band and enjoyed every minute of it. It's a great place to visit, but I don't see myself living there. It's too congested for my tastes and $5 for a Miller Lite at ANY bar is no good. Central Park, Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown, Lower Manhattan....I'm ready to go back. My favorite experience so far was when I woke up earlier than everybody else to do my laundry at a laundromat in Brooklyn. I just sat on the sidewalk and soaked it all in. There's definitely a nice vibe going on there if you're into living in cities. I'm sure my opinion will change when somebody tries to mug me.
  3. Amid outcries from Brewers fans that Johnny Estrada didn't hustle while grounding into a game-changing double play Monday night, manager Ned Yost revealed today that his catcher had been playing with an ailing left hamstring for a couple of weeks. that's us!
  4. i think the balfour experiment is over after this game...
  5. she'd have to catch him first. HEY-OOOH.
  6. are you an actual brewer fan or a marketing representative of mousebreaker.com? I only ask because your first post reads like a form letter. Granted this is innocent solicitation, but I have friends who work internet marketing and this is the sort of stuff they're paid to do.

  8. In order of decreasing obscurity: I moved into an apartment that was occupied by the guy who played Rudy's older brother (Scott Benjaminson) in Rudy , among other roles. He had a Rudy poster in his second bedroom. He tends bar in my neighborhood and we still chat whenever i drop by. We always talk about my upstairs neighbors' sex habits. My respect for him dropped after I saw his one line in Mr. 3000. I saw Greg Foster at the KMart in Brookfield during the '01-'02 season. He was buried so deep down the bench at that point (i.e. that season's JR Reid), he probably didn't want anybody to notice him. I did. All I could do was nod. At UW, I sat next to "touchdown" Tony Simmons during the first Calculus (second semester calc.) lecture of the year. After the lecture, he immediately turned to me and said he was going to drop the class because it was too much for his brain. I nodded and went about my business. He didn't really need the class (or the degree). I met Sammy Hagar at a meet-and-greet during his solo tour (right after he quit Van Halen the first time). He was wearing the same shirt he wore on the Daily Show a few weeks prior to that. Nice guy, seemed genuinely happy to see people under 30 backstage. Finally.... I was working the snack shed at a Brookfield country club when Al McGuire (RIP) lectured me on how to pour a beer from a tap. I was a little salty about it since I just finished my freshman year in college (obviously I knew the mechanics of beer and tappers) and the tap was spewing out foam all day.
  9. Franklin Dictionary / mp3 player? this woot-off is effectively over.
  10. i'm a big fan of I-river. I recommend if you're looking for a non-pod.
  11. Thats wasn't Bones. That was Julio Machado. i'm an idiot. Bones was an all-star.
  12. so Wise is being scouted as a starting pitcher now?
  13. back above the Mendoza line! (i'd still send him down)
  14. remember when Ricky Bones killed a guy? That means we traded Gary Sheffield for a convicted murderer.
  15. I'm betting manny for the 8th and 9th...or just the 9th. six outs (or three) is much easier than nine for a debut.
  16. Not that i'm caught up in the rumor talk or anything, but maybe Wise is out there for to be scouted for trades.
  17. everybody gets to play but keep your two best players in to prevent a total meltdown. if that were the case, everybody (hardy, weeks, mench, miller) would get in on this game. that's not the point of the forfeit lineup.
  18. I guess I just don't get the bashing of today's lineup. I don't think anybody is bashing the line-up, per se. Nobody is specifically saying that any of the regulars shouldn't be on the bench right now. We're just confident enough that we'll win with this lineup...actually, it's been years we can put this sort of lineup out there and still believe we'll win...so we make light of it.
  19. '02 Brewers : forfeit franchise '06 - '07 bucks (second half) : lottery lineup
  20. but I'm rooting for the forfeit lineup to erupt for about 8-9 runs today! that made me laugh...in fact, i'm going to use "forfeit lineup" on a daily basis. as in "that's a forfeit lineup you've got on"
  21. Terry Francona went on to manage the Red Sox to a World Series title in 2004. I kid, I kid.... During a batting practice in '92, Tony Fossas (the mechanic) was with the Red Sox and came over to talk to somebody next to me. I remember being suprised he had a foreign sounding accent. [rick aguilera reference deleted...I'm melding memories]
  22. I purchased the roombah, but nothing has been confirmed. Woot is just a sick joke, isn't it?
  23. I swear....if I see that "bases empty syndrome" commercial one more time on MLBEI....is this trial over yet?
