  1. I believe that Toronto could be a prince fielder possible destination this offseason. A Fielder for Halladay would work really good for both sides. I think that Prince needs to be traded this offseason for a high caliber pitcher and if Halladay is on the block then he is the guy i would go for.
  2. This is just a great deal.. I really do wanna know who the other minor leaguers are. I hope it was just Green and Cain. No Braddock or Lucroy. But this deal IMO makes the brewers the best team in the national league.
  3. I believe that it would take more along the lines of Escobar, Lucroy/Salome, Gillespie, and probably another pitcher to get a deal done for Harden. But i believe that it is a better option to explore other pitchers than Sabathia that wont require Gamel or LaPorta. Those two are untouchable and i believe Salome is untouchable as well. Joe Blanton would be the guy i would pursue on the As. Yes he is 3-11 or something and his ERA is missleading at 4.89. Over the last several years he has been a quality starter that throws a lot of innings and makes every start. He also has some really good stuff that translates well to the National league. Billy Bean probably wont give up Harden at this point because they are still in it but Blanton has had tough luck all year with the As and could use a change of scenary.
  4. I am all for trading for CC but i don't want to give up Gamel or LaPorta. I truely see them being part of the future of the Brewers and leading the franchise to a lot of Championships. Doug Melvin in a recent interview said that there are some untouchables in the minor leagues and i think Gamel and LaPorta are as close to untouchables as you can have. Melvin also said that giving up quantity is the approach he would use. That would signal that he will give up a bunch of the other high level and mid level prospects. I would say Escobar, Brantley, Salome, Gillespie, Cain and Braddock/Jeffress would get it done. The Indians have very few position player prospects and i think that they would take a deal involving a few or if not all of those players listed above. I do agree that C.C and Sheets would be a nearly unbeatable rotation for the stretch run but Gamel and LaPorta are going to be All Star players and part of the Young corps of players that will lead the future of the Milwaukee Brewers. Its not worth giving them up for 2 months of C.C without a guarantee they will win a championship.
  5. I gotta give Mike Maddux credit for helping McClung out. Last year as a reliever and with the Devil Rays, he used a full windup with a lot of stops and stunts in it. Thats what Brian and Bill mean when they say a complex and tiring delivery. It also messed up his command of his 2 seem fastball and his curveball. He also locates his fastball much better even though he has lost velocity. He has become a valuable starter and his mechanics will allow him to be solid all year for us and i hope he continues. However i believe the reason the brewers aren't opening up bush's spot in the rotation yet is because they feel they can aquire a starter to fill that void. That is the only reason i can see why they would allow bush to continue pitching.
  6. Brian Roberts would be absolutly ideal. Rickie Weeks hasn't produced all year and has been a dissappointment thus far in his career for that matter and needs a change of scenary. Roberts could fill 2nd base right away providing the Brewers with an excellant leadoff hitter who gets on base and steals bases, and could bring in another pitching prospect with him. Roberts is also signable if they would like to do so when he becomes a free agent. Good idea for a deal and i hope DM thinks about this one.
  7. Im sick of Bill Hall. He complains about his playing time but he hasn't hit lefties or righties lately. I think it is time to move him and the ideal trade would be to the Rays. The Rays have gotten no production from Jason Bartlett, and they are in a better playoff situation than the brewers. Meanwhile they have an overloaded amount of pitching prospects with Price, McGee and Wade Davis plus Nieman. So how about trying to pry Nieman out of their hands. He is a young pitcher with really good stuff, hes major league ready, and due to their surplus of pitching it may not take much to get him. Nieman can take a spot in the rotation and help the brewers this year and the next.
  8. I really think that Mat Gamel will be an all star caliber player when he reaches the bigs. I think he will put up .300 seasons with 25-30 Homers and 100 RBIs in the future. His defense has been much improved this season according to Don Money and after listening to a recent interview with Jim Powell and a scout in the Brewers system i am very convinced that he will stay at 3rd Base and be an average at worst 3rd basemen. I for one hope the brewers will bring him up to do some DHing this summer just so he can get a taste of the big leagues. And here is my Dream lineup for next season. 2B: Rickie Weeks 3B: Mat Gamel RF: Ryan Braun 1B: Prince Fielder CF: Corey Hart LF: Matt LaPorta SS: JJ Hardy C: Jason Kendall with Salome coming up later in the year
  9. I think the Brewers should trade Bill Hall. Ever since we gave him the money, he hasn't played near the way he once did and he doesn't fit in with their future plans. Branyan has played extremely well when hes been in there and Mat Gamel is knocking on the door for playing time this season. The Brewers are looking for a starting pitcher and they could get a pretty good one with Hall as the center piece and another player along with him. I for one would like to see Gamel this season and i think that Dillon and Branyan would be a solid platoon and they still have callix Crabbe in the minors. I think if Hall wants to leave i have no problem with it and it wouldn't hurt the team as much as everyone would think.
  10. how bout using Dillard as a Starter for Dave Bush? Dillard has started in the Minor Leagues before and i believe he could be successful. But he hasn't shown us another pitch he can throw. Its only been the sinker, but he is really impressing me and i think he should be considerred for the starting rotation..
  11. im pushing for Weaver. Hes had some really good seasons and he could certainly reserect his career here. WE just have to see what we have with him before he walks.. I really like Narveson as an option too, he pitched extremely well in spring training and hes a lefty. But we can't forget about Chris Capuano. Wouldn't that be ironic if he comes off the DL and he is in his 2005 form and he becomes the savier of our rotatoin.
  12. Don't forget about Jake McGee and Wade Davis... McGee is a guy who throws 97-99 consistantly and has a big curveball and a sharp breaking slider.. Wade Davis has been compared to AJ Burnett a little bit and has great control.. Also they have a young outfielder by the name of Desmond Jennings who is the second coming of Carl Crawford, great speed and makes good contact and a good defensive outfielder.. Also theres Reid Brignac whos one of the top shortstop prospects in the minors who plays good defense and has 30 homer power.. Hes also a left handed hitter.. The point is the Rays are a serious threat maybe not this year but next year they will be a major player and will IMO win the division.. They are stackedd
  13. Ive heard rumors of us looking at Yorvit Torrealba, Jorge Posada is a yankee, Mike Piazza is aging, and there isn't much available. IMO we do need a good catcher better than Johnny Estrada. Who are u guys looking at and what kind of player do we give up...
  14. and don't forget carlos lee last year
  15. when doug melvin said that i believe even more that it might happen. It makes a crap load of sense if u think about it. I remember reading that the reds wanted a reliever, an outfielder and an infield prospect for dunn and thats what that would be i would pronounce this dead yet
  16. he does have a lot of RBIS and he is a good person to have behind prince. We need someone who can scare the other team. It also would help bill hall out as well hitting behind so much power.
  17. hes been hitting it well lately but right at the fielders. i think hes gonna heat up again, i wouldn't worry about JJ.
  18. this rumor makes a lot of sense. We have three infielders, Matt Gamel, Escobar, and Irribarren who are all expendable adn could definetly help out another team. I think that we shoud throw in an outfielder. But dunn is the kind of thing the team needs. We need another power threat behind prince to scare someone. Imagine a top 6 in our order of Hart, Hardy, Braun, Fielder, Dunn, Hall trying to hit u. It would make me wet myself ("trying to hit u"? Please note forum rule about AOL-speak: What kind of language is not allowed?. Thanks. --1992casey)
  19. we do have some good prospects to trade like Matt Gamel and Alcides Escobar and Zach Jackson, Manny Parra, TGJ and all have prety high value. I believe that due to the uncertain future of Miguel Cabrera they would be interested in our young infielders.
  20. i wouldn't use gallardo that much. I really hope that they give Villy a chance but id also like to see parra get a start too. I think that saving his innings is a very good idea and im concerned if he pitches too much.
  21. i always really liked Darren, hopefully he takes Brian's place for a game or 2, lol.
  22. i believe that parra will start then maybe? But i can't wait to hear all of the ESPN and Baseball Tonight guys tell us that the brewers are done and won't win the division anymore. The depth that we have will allow us to win even without our ace.
  23. i betcha Melvin was talkin to the reds about Adam Dunn. Hes a name thats still on the market but everyone has forgot about for some reason and i could definetly see him being moved as soon as possible. The brewers could really use a bat like him in the 5 or six spot because of Jenkins and mench being very streeky and and being only platoon players anyway.
  24. www.rotoworld.com/content...?sport=MLB I could see a trade involving Lofton and Otsuka... The brewers had scouts at the game last night. But if anyone remembers, the brewers had a chance at signing him in the offseason but they decided to put hall incenter instead.
  25. i could see him being a closer candidate next year if we don't have Cordero. He was the twins top prospect back a few years ago but had 3 arm surgurys, but he is back now and its just really dumb to keep spurling up here and him down there. Parra and Balfour should both be in our bullpen right now.
