  1. A look at managing, coaching, or lack of in today's MLB. https://www.si.com/mlb/2022/10/06/joe-maddon-tom-verducci-book-excerpt?fbclid=IwAR1cI24SUzvgIh4tKIMz4tfODAxZrnXb6ua9EfQ7qfUkDpj0D1QUVb0ITEc
  2. UGGGHHHH! Please don't remind us of that. lol
  3. That's a boring take... I'm an overly negative person? He did play two productive seasons. He played 141 and 148 games in 2018 1nd 2019. He played 5 games in 2020 before opting out of the season. Not faulting him for that, everyone had to do what they had to do to get through that nightmare. He played 78 games last year. I'm expecting the same this year, anything more will be gravy, assuming he is providing anything positive to the team's success. I have accepted the fact that the last 2-3 seasons were going to be what they are. I just don't see much reasoning in acting like he is providing much to the success of the current team. I don't need to step back at all, I understand how baseball contracts work, especially when you sign a guy in the twilight of his career. We all knew the last 2 years or so of that contract were not going to be anything like the first 2 years. I like Cain, always have, I just don't expect much from him from this point on. Incessant complaining? I beg to differ. If we can't come to the game threads and talk about the game and it's players, then what is the point. You simply can't dictate the the thoughts and feelings of the people who post here. I truly don't think I am one of the negative people here, but maybe if that is how a lot of other posters feel, then maybe I am.
  4. I think there were maybe 3 guys here that kept harping on the "Houser shouldn't be a starter" nonsense...
  5. Yeah, and Adames had one before them that hit the top of the wall... Offense is fun!
  6. A boring take? As someone who has been a Brewers fan my entire life, and as someone who has seen Cain's career as a Brewer since day one of his current contract, what I said isn't so much of a "take" as it is highly probable. He will spend a great deal of time on the IL, and you can paint it any way you want, but he is not, will not, and can't be worth the 15 million + we are paying him this year. What does his incredible resiliency before 2020 have to do with 2022? I mean, that's 3 years ago. It may be a "boring take" to you, but to those of us who have watched him play day in and day out the past 5 seasons, he can't be relied on to do much more than make an occasional great play in the outfield these days...
  7. I think that is an exaggeration. No one has said that in quite some time, but when they were saying it, it appeared to have some truth. I was not one of the guys saying it, but at that time, he had come off pretty successful time in the bullpen.
  8. Sadly, there is a lot of this year left. At some point, he'll hit the IL, followed by a couple more trips to the IL.
  9. Are you saying the Phillies offense is not good?
  10. THAT is a thing and I hate it. It is constant as you said.
  11. Brewers fans aren't far behind...I've noticed it a lot this year, anything to the outfield and Brewers fans think it's gone.
  12. I can't agree with this, nor can about 25 other MLB teams. Dominant closers are not as easy to find as some might think, which is why there are what, 3-4 in the game? Losing Hader is going to be a major blow, and until that happens, I don't think we appreciate him as much as we should.
  13. Makes no sense at all...unless Keston is dealing with an injury?
  14. Simple fact is, Yelich is paid like one of the best players in MLB, and he just isn't that anymore. Far too young to give up on, maybe, but until we see something, anything that looks like the guy we thought we were getting, he will continue to be ridiculed. I mean, that contract JUST started, it would be easier to take if it were 5 years from now when he started his descent into suckiness, but the 1st or 2nd year into the contract, and we have a guy that should probably be hitting 7th in the order at best? Just plain sad what has happened. I feel horrible for the guy as a person, but the kind of money he is being paid completely strips us of the ability to sign those big bats we need.
  15. As long as that one commercial is the Vizzy Queen and her court commercial, I'm in!!!! Do we really need to see that commercial 10 times per game (not an exaggeration) It literally plays once per inning and at least once during the pre-game show.
  16. I was at the Timber rattlers game Sunday. 18-1 was the final score. The game was less than 3 hours, even with all those runs scored. I have noticed a huge difference in game time this season, all due to the pitch clock. I'm all for it!
  17. Hasn't Hader pitched in 4 of the last 5 games? I don't think there is any way we see him unless we have a 17 inning affair and they are out of arms.
  18. Hader is going to need a day or 2 off after this one.
  19. Why in the hell does this umpire line up so far off the plate. Just stupid.
