  1. We will never know will we. Expected stats mean nothing, the only way to settle this argument is if we got to see what would have happened had he been managed correctly, and that is impossible, no matter what the expected stats say.
  2. Because he WAS mismanaged, that is the reason why. He had one stretch of what, 15 games with regular playing time, way too small of a sample to determine anything. The glaring error was continuously batting him against lefties because all righties hit lefties well. CC refused to look at his splits and just kept banging away when everyone but him knew it wasn't working. Hiura was mismanaged for the entire 2022 season.
  3. Given today's market, he won't take that, just don't see it. I think his agent would laugh at an offer of 155 million. If he were a free agent now, I can't see him getting less than 200 million. 2 years from now, if these big market GMs keep spending, it will probably be more than that unless he tanks the next 2 seasons. I think we lost the chance to get him at a good price, the extension should have been offered after the 2021 season, now it's just too late.

  5. Wong has already been traded to the Mariners...
  6. Sadly, I believe it does. I think Adames is happy in Milwaukee, at least, it sure seems that way. Can we expect a little bit of a hometown discount? In today's world, probably not. I think it would be wise to trade him as soon as we get an offer we can't refuse. As much as I'd hate to see him go, it's just the way things are.

  8. Had he been managed correctly (started at DH against all righties, kept off the field defensively unless an emergency occurred), I tend to think his numbers would have been even better. The fact he was mismanaged so harshly had a detrimental effect on all his stats, and I mean ALL of them. If we keep him this year, it would be nice to play him at his true strengths only, and not try and jam him into playing time that we know he will fail at. CC has to be accountable for this, it's his job to figure things out. If CC can't do it, then Hiura needs to be moved, because the way he was used last year hurt us. Bat the dude against righties only and I think we'd see an uptick in his value, and he would help us win some games.
  9. Wow, I don't think he is saying that at all. C'mon now...
  10. If a Cardinals website did the same exact thing, you know they would come out the winner. All depends on who is doing the judging. In the end, regardless of what anyone thinks, the Cardinals will be our biggest competition for the division, and anyone thinking we are so much better than them has another thing coming. It will come down to who wins more games. :)
  11. With only 3 scheduled, it will be interesting to see who they decide to do. I'm guessing: 1. Devin Williams 2. William Contreras 3. Rowdy Tellez More than likely, there will be some special event bobbles, and possibly another unpublished bobble, but we'll see. I'm disappointed that we never got a Kolton Wong bobble, even though he played here for 2 seasons. Same with Moustakas...
  12. I really enjoyed The Menu as well as Violent Night. Just great movies to sit down and enjoy...
  13. Marvel Movies. The market has been saturated beyond belief. I stopped trying to keep up, and imo, they became nothing short of boring special effect nonsense. Too bad, I used to really look forward to their openings, but it's too much, I'm done.
  14. Phillies signed INF Weston Wilson to a minor league contract. Wilson spent the last seven years in the Brewers' system and has displayed the defensive versatility to play across the infield diamond and the outfield as well. The 28-year-old gives the Phillies some additional organizational infield depth in the upper minors. He hit .228/.297/.358 with 11 homers and a career-high 17 steals in 462 plate appearances last season for Triple-A Nashville. Jan 2, 2023, 11:15 AM ET
  15. Much easier to get your point across without the snarkiness and superiority complex. I understand what upside means, I just don't believe we are going to see that side of him until maybe a bit further along in the season when he is truly recuperated from his surgery. Athletes always say they are on schedule with no issues during the off season, especially ones that just got traded. And again, I want him to be a world beater right out of the gate, I'm not the fan who roots against guys so I can be right. I want to be 100% wrong in this case.
  16. I truly hope Winker bounces back, but in my mind, the chances of him being that player again are a lot less than him being the player he was last year.
  17. Do you understand the meaning of downside?
  18. He is coming off major surgery, and was no where near that player last year. Also FACT.
  19. Agree, I'd rather spend a few million on Anderson than waste a prospect on a guy in decline.

  21. The sports world no longer cares if players have character and are morally set, they just want the money, the exposure, and I believe that people want and like villians! I used to root against guys like Bonds, Alomar, Ray Lewis, and all the rest of the pieces of crap out there, and still do. I'm not against bringing Bauer on board though. If he truly wants another shot at a career, he'll mind his business and not screw it up again, if he is too far gone, then he'll mess up and he'll be cut. We've had our share of guys who have knocked women around, DUI, etc. To take the moral high ground now is just hypocritical. If he were to become a Brewer, I'd root like hell for him, if he signs elsewhere (and there is a 100% chance he will) I will root like hell against him. That is where I sit for now.
  22. That is VERY debatable.
  23. Giants signed C/OF Clint Coulter to a minor league contract. Coulter put up some exceptional offensive numbers the last two seasons for Triple-A Memphis in the Cardinals' minor league system. He posted a sublime .910 OPS with nine homers in 207 plate appearances over 54 contests this past season. The 29-year-old former first-round selection was a highly-regarded prospect with the Brewers a few seasons ago, but wound up stalling out in the upper minors. He has a shot to make it to the majors in San Francisco. Dec 31, 2022, 3:37 PM ET
  24. Nope, CC would still feel the need to play him every day and bat him clean-up.
  25. 100% agree with this take. I thought the exact same thing when his name came up here. I just don't think he cares to re-live those times.
