  1. Please just use Taylor instead if that is the case. I fully expected Cain to be out of the line-up today after his pile up with the wall yesterday...
  2. Narvaez needs to bring some offense today. He has been pretty blah for quite a while now. We need all the boys to bring their A games today, maybe old man Cain can make a difference.
  3. Switch Yelich and Urias, hell, I'd even bump Rowdy to 4 and have Garcia at 5. Mix it up. I think we all knew Yelich would start and hit #3 no matter what, so Taylor on the bench was 100% predictable. I want nothing more than for Yelich and Garcia to prove me wrong today, and this post is in hopes of a reverse jinx! They have not pulled their weight in a while now.
  4. I would love to see everyone weigh in now on this before the game so we don't have to hear the inevitable second guessing after the fact. I'll go ahead and make my argument for starting Lauer and holding back Burnes... I back Counsell 100% on this decision. Lauer is the one pitcher on the roster not named Gustave who the Braves haven't gotten a look at already this series. They also have the 2nd fewest hits in the majors against lefties. You can't win this series without winning games 4 AND 5 so why decrease your chances in game 5 by spending Burnes in game 4 on short rest. Especially when Burnes has been deployed on on LONG rest (more than 4 days) for most of the season. The Braves have some damn good pitching themselves. Their decision to go the short rest route and exposing their pitchers to multiple looks by Brewers batters might be the one chance to start tilting the odds back in the Brewers favor. The Brewers are potentially 9 hours away from turning 3% odds into 50%+ odds. Burning Burnes today likely wouldn't make the Brewers the favorite in game 5 as I do not like the Woodruff vs Fried matchup at all with both on 4 days rest. But I definitely like Burnes on 5 days rest vs Fried on 4. How do others want to weigh in before the benefit of hindsight? Let's hear it. I am all for starting Lauer, and letting Burnes be our game 5 guy. Burnes is used to pitching with 6 days rest, maybe even more in the past 6 weeks. I don't think we would get good Corbin today if we went with him. I am 100% all in on starting Lauer.
  5. UUUUGGGGHHHHH! Everyone in Brewer Nation except for one lone guy thought this was a bad idea. I would even bet that Kotsay himself thought this was a stupid idea.
  6. I like that one! Very outside the box! Mine is Yelich goes yard. Mine is Wong. 3 x 4, leadoff homer. 2 run 2B, BB, 3 RBI (the only 3 runs we score)
  7. Speaking for myself, I want him gone for salary relief. I'd give him away for free at this point to get out from underneath that contract.
  8. You're a baseball coach? And you think Peralta had a 50/50 chance to score a run on a sacrifice bunt? Wow. Beyond that, why would you possibly want to try bunting the pitcher with one out in that situation. Not cool, obviously you're not a disciple of Coach Cooper. Not coach cooper again.. Can never get enough of the Coach Cooper references...lol
  9. He might want to leave and start fresh someplace else, you never know.
  10. I'm not sticking up for Haines, but how many players have digressed under him. (besides the horrendous seasons from Hiura and Yelich) I don't think a hitting coach can damage a guy like Yelich, who had 2 back to back MVP type seasons. I think Yelich's problem is either physical (back or knee) or mental (does he trust his knee after the injury, is he afraid of getting hurt again) The Hiura situation is anyone's guess... It's a legit question. How many players have suddenly become worse since we got Haines, or since they came to Milwaukee. I don't know the answer, but I know the stat guys will accept the challenge and answer the question.
  11. One thing I haven't seen mentioned: Even if it was a good decision to pull Peralta (Which it wasn't, and I will die on that hill) to replace him with the likes of Dan Vogelbach is laughable. It isn't like were replacing him with a guy hitting .275, hell, .250. The odds of Vogelbach getting a hit in that situation were minimal at best. He just isn't the type of hitter that makes pulling your starter after 4 innings, with 51 pitches, and dealing, a good, sound decision It was a bad move. It was a bad decision on so many levels, and I get people sticking up for CC, but there have been times where he has made really stupid decisions, and this is one of them. It doesn't mean CC should be fired, or that he sucks, or is a moron, it just means he made a REALLY bad decision in a playoff game, that in the end, could cost us the series. Is it a "start Kotsay in CF" type of mistake? Right now, after still hurting from the loss, I'd say yes it is. I may feel differently tomorrow, but I doubt it. It was a bad decision. Lastly, the time to flip the switch is running out.
  12. Do you really think Rowdy could go either way? I think he is a lock! I think the 1B job is his to lose next year. I'd like to see them commit to the guy, give him half a season full time and see what happens.
  13. I'll be at school all afternoon, DVR set, will watch when I get home. Now I just have to have blinders on, hoping no one spoils it for me... What a stupid time to start a playoff game for those that work...
  14. I find it hilarious that Jake from State Farm, somehow, mysteriously turned into a black guy... Couldn't they have given the replacement a different name since the replacement is obviously an entirely different person?
  15. Our pitching against their offense might be ok. Our offense against their pitching (which is pretty damn good) would not be ok.
  16. There is a lot of movement allowed in today's game that was not allowed 10-15 years ago. It's kind of ridiculous really.
  17. Also just to be clear, I said "IF he is so bad off, he shouldn't be starting." I have no idea if his health, either physical or mental, has anything to do with his struggles, but if either are effecting his play at this time of year, then he shouldn't be starting.
  18. If Yelich is so bad off, he shouldn't be starting.
  19. Only a few games left (possibly) to flip that switch...
  20. Why was our 3rd string catcher hitting with 2 men on, bottom of the 9th in a playoff game?
  21. Escobar worries me at 1B but probably the right decision. I think Taylor should have started over Yelich, but I just can't see CC sitting Yelich outside of injury...
  22. If it's for a kid, I'd go the cheap knockoff route, pay $25 for one, then not have to care if it gets wrecked... dhgate offers every jersey you can imagine, really cheap prices, and decent quality for the cost. Especially if it's a kids jersey that you know will get stained and abused. lol https://www.dhgate.com/product/22-christian-yelich-brewers-jersey-19-robin/682115337.html?d1_page_num=1&dspm=pcen.sp.list.1.V5V77HuZQXmWtRnE6bnM&resource_id=682115337&scm_id=yf.prodauto.71.2rrgNDloaLtCLZSs3-hgyZIlo7-jUKXhfyn.2-d3_1_0_225723_filter00_0_null_7Fx.Iba43k9SWHbrewerBr0pw0gC4tO4uEss#gp-1-16|1:e7a80681c6a94303b8475597f4a67706:1
  23. Yeah, I also enjoy the fact that these teams hate each other... Makes for added dramatic effect.
  24. Been wanting to say something, just haven't. I know you aren't getting a lot of replies to your posts, that seems to be how it works here for the newbies for whatever reason, but I appreciate your posts... Keep it up. There are a couple of new guys here lately that I think are valuable adds. That's all, carry on...
