  1. We shall see, but I think what you think is incorrect in this instance.
  2. This exactly! Anyone saying they know how they will use Hader in EVERY situation is just plain crazy. If the situation calls for it, you bet your butt CC will throw him in the 8th with 2 outs to put out a fire, then go ahead and let him have the 9th. I don't care who said what last week or yesterday, if the situation arises where they need to think outside the box, they will.
  3. I think a big thing about this offense is that there isn't someone who you absolutely wouldn't want coming up in a big situation. In past playoff years, we had more "big names" that you'd want to be up in certain situations, but the back of the lineup had some "black holes." I like that we don't have that this year. Except for Yelich, sadly...
  4. I wonder if Lauer will get the nod after Woodruff tomorrow like Houser did today? Does this mean that CC has no faith in the bullpen guys who normally come in after the starter? If we use Lauer like we used Houser tomorrow, what do we do when Freddy starts game 3? (I fully expect Freddy to be our game 3 starter at this point) Can Houser pitch another 2 or 3 innings in game 3? So many questions, but just happy as hell we got the win. The Williams injury is just so huge to comprehend, just a tragic thing to happen to this team.
  5. I truly think we go into 2022 with Rowdy as our guy at 1B. We made that trade for a reason, and he gave us no reason to think he can't get the job done. If he doesn't, we'll still have the trade deadline to get a 1B, or maybe Yelich will begin a transition during spring training, getting some reps there as well.
  6. Sopranos fans, this is a MUST SEE! The Many Saints of Newark It was excellent, and it certainly looks like there will be another one coming...
  7. I hate the Giants, I hate the Dodgers. We have a better chance at beating the Giants, so I'm going for them. Hate the Red Sox, hoping TB embarrasses them! Rooting for the White Sox over the Astros. Obviously the Brewers over the Braves
  8. I find it hard to believe the average time of a MLB game was only 3:11. It seems like the average time for a Brewers game was 3:30. Anyone have a stat as to what the actual average game time for the Brewers was?
  9. What in the heck is going on with people having 2nd favorite and secondary teams? Geez. I just don't understand this logic at all. Is it because you are used to your #1 team losing and just need another team to make you feel better? I just can't spread any allegiance I have to a team. I have one favorite team in each sport, the rest I simply want to lose.
  10. 2nd favorite team? Does not compute, only one team at my house, all other teams don't matter...
  11. WAY to radical. I'd be completely against this.
  12. As much as it goes against every fiber of my being, I think I will be rooting for the Cardinals tonight only because I just don't think we can beat the Dodgers in a 7 game series. Not like I'm going to go all out, but if I'm being logical, I just can't root for the Dodgers to satisfy my hate for the Cardinals. Of course, once the game starts, and I see them take the field, I could do a complete switch, but this is how I am feeling currently.
  13. This is where I'm at too. I'm going to be both satisfied and frustrated regardless of the result of tonight's game. Worded perfectly, same here.
  14. Urias does not deserve to be sent to the Orioles.
  15. Have an AL and an NL. No divisions. Each team plays each team the same amount of times, no schedule differences. Top 4 teams, based on record, in each league have a playoff system. Winner of each league meets for the world series.
  16. East Coast / West Coast bias comes through loud and clear.
  17. Compare his cost to Rowdy. Taylor made 7.8 million in 2021, do you think he'll play for Rowdy's contract ($600,000) We are going to be saddled with contracts from JBJ, Cain and Yelich that far exceed their value to this team. I'm afraid that signing guys for a lot of money won't be possible this off season unless they find a way to unload some of that salary.
  18. Geez, I would certainly hope to do better than Chris Taylor. I'd rather roll with Rowdy...
  19. If you were in the Dodgers place and had the assets they had would you do it any differently? Not saying I disagree, I do in fact agree, but to me the problem isn't the Dodgers, it's the system that allows them to do what they do. 100% agree. Been saying for years (mostly about the Yankees, now the Dodgers) that if these teams aren't breaking any league rules, how can we blame the teams? They are doing what is allowed, it's not a "team" issue, it's a "league" issue.
  20. Hopefully Ashby can flip that switch starting Friday, because if he isn't the guy to replace Williams, we have nothing else. Worried yet?
  21. Nah, don't worry, no big loss. We have a great bullpen, Ashby will step right in, we won't miss Williams at all.
  22. Finally, an end to this ridiculous mess of the past few weeks. We look completely uninspired. Hope we have that switch ready to be flipped.
