  1. If this lessons the chances in any way that we get Archer, I am happy with this news!
  2. So you are giving away our closer, our 3B and RF, with no replacement for 3B and closer? I get it, you want back 2 POSSIBLE future studs, but where would that leave our playoff chances this year? I'm pretty sure we didn't add Cain for all that $ and Yelich for all those prospects so we can trade away our chance at a playoff run this year... We could probably absorb the loss at RF, but not 3B and we have no one who would obviously step in at closer.
  3. might he do better here based on familiarity? I'm not on the bandwagon to sign him, but if it was cheap enough, couple million a year, it wouldn't hurt, as long as it wasn't for 3 years or more. Ideally, a one year deal, 2 at most. I agree with most, he is declining, and doubt he is even a shell of his former self, but if the situation presented itself for the right cost and length, I'd kick the tires for certain.
  4. Brewers' general manager David Stearns said Sunday that the club is content with their trio of catchers and they aren't interested in a possible reunion with Jonathan Lucroy. Lucroy continues to sit on the open market as spring camps have opened throughout Florida and Arizona, but a reunion in Milwaukee doesn't seem to be in the cards. The Brewers will enter the season with Manny Pina, Stephen Vogt and Jett Bandy behind the dish. Source: Tom Haudricourt on TwitterFeb 18 - 10:43 PM

  7. If we sign Lucroy (not going to happen at 3 years, no way, no how) Vogt will be gone. It would be asinine to keep a 3rd catcher on the bench.
  8. Where is Thames in this assessment?
  9. I have unfollowed family members as well, it's part of the life on social media. It's disgusting, but reality.
  10. Why do people say that guys like Miley are insurance? Insurance for what? It would have to be an absolute catastrophe for him to appear in a Brewers uniform this season, and we have plenty of guys that deserve a shot before he does. Insurance to me is when you have a guy like Sogard to back up Villar if/when he falters. Wade Miley is far from insurance, he is a bum that truly serves no purpose. None.
  11. Now we are at 3 years of Lucroy? My gosh man...
  12. Nostalgic ex-brewer love. Happens all the time...
  13. Hard to flip a guy who is on the DL, which he will be several times this season.
  14. Danny Salazar "experienced an onset of right shoulder rotator cuff inflammation in mid-January," per a press release from the Indians. Salazar has resumed throwing and is "progressing well," according to the same media update, but the 28-year-old right-hander is also "a couple weeks behind" the other pitchers in Indians camp this spring. It's possible this could affect his readiness for the beginning of the 2018 regular season. Salazar battled elbow and shoulder problems in 2017 and finished with a disappointing 4.28 ERA and 1.34 WHIP, though he did strike out 145 batters in 103 innings. Source: Jordan Bastian on TwitterFeb 15 - 1:53 PM It seems like this this is the kind of stuff we would see with this guy on a constant basis...
  15. Marcus Stroman lost his arbitration hearing against the Blue Jays and will receive a $6.5 million salary in 2018. Stroman broke the news on his personal Twitter account Thursday: "Lost arbitration. Is what it is. Looking forward to going out and dealing again. The negative things that were said against me, by my own team, will never leave my mind. I’m thick-skinned so it will only fuel the fire. Can’t wait for this year!" Stroman had requested a salary of $6.9 million from the Toronto front office. He is a Super Two player and won't hit free agency until after the 2020 campaign. 16. 8 - 10 million a year for Luc? C'mon man... I get it, he was good while he was a Brewer, but that ship has sailed according to his time away from Milwaukee. Lots of fans are nostalgic, and like to dream of getting ex-brewers back in the fold, but that would be a severe over-pay.
  17. Serious question: When was the last time a MLB player sat out a partial or full season, waiting for an offer to his liking? I'm not talking about a player that had no interest from teams, so he had no choice. I'm talking about a player with multiple offers on the table, but none that met his or his agent's expectations. I can't recall that happening, not that it didn't.
  18. Keeper League I can pick 2 of the 3 starters listed below. Which 2 would you pick? deGrom Syndergaard Bumgarner I pretty much know what I'd like to do, but like to hear other's opinions.
  19. You bother because you pursue every avenue to strengthen your team, and we're likely talking about a minor league deal with a spring training invite and opt-out clause. Not a risk at all. It isn't like there are a ton of pitchers beating down the door, either. Could make for a pretty dang cool story. If he is good enough at his try-out, I doubt we will be his choice...
  20. I just don't see it... Would he be a pull pen option, starter, long relief? I'm with RoCo, why bother?
  21. Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that the Yankees and Brewers will be at Tim Lincecum's showcase on Thursday in Seattle. Add them to a list that includes (so far) the Giants and Padres. Lincecum last pitched in 2016 with the Angels, putting up an ugly 9.16 ERA over nine starts. He's reportedly gotten himself in better shape and is throwing harder in workouts this offseason. 22. True, but there are still a few regular SGA bobbles. Thames, Gauntlet, Cain, Chorizo, Shaw, plus the other cool SGA items like the Bull Pen Cart, Yount Jersey, and Braun Starting Line-up...
