  1. This thread is supposed to be reactionary. If we start silencing our reactions during the game day thread, why bother? Let us have one thread on these boards where it's ok to vent a little bit.
  2. So, blown save by the bullpen, and picked off running the bases in the 10th. yup.
  3. It's a travisty, a sham, a mockery...It's a darn travishamockery!
  4. K-Rod, yup, it's gotta be K-Rod! Pick him up to flip him at the deadline.
  5. Aguilar was traded in January to the Venezuelan Winter League version of the Tigers, the Aragua Tigers.
  6. Just throwing out a hypothetical situation. What if, and I know it is not a realistic way to look at it, but what if none of our outfielders gets hurt, or misses a single game to to injury? That would make things pretty interesting as to how the playing time is passed out. It could actually happen if Braun gets as much rest as some are hoping for, not likely, but it is not impossible...
  7. I'd take Montgomery and pay all of Thames contact!
  8. It's the ultimate transaction rumor. Wonder how much you have to pay the ferryman these days? Don't pay the ferryman, Don't even fix a price, Don't pay the ferryman, Until he gets you to the other side"
  9. Why? Seriously, why? What did you expect from him? I'm not sad at all, in fact I'm actually sad anyone thought he had anything left to give us. Looking at his past two seasons, it was pretty easy to tell he was signed probably more-so as a favor to him for his previous time he spent with us. I don't think anyone actually expected him to make this team.
  10. As Brewer fans, we, more so than anyone, know that good MLB 1B are NOT a dime a dozen.
  11. Glad that page has finally turned... Bring on the youth movement, see what we have.
  12. There was talk about Braun moving to 1st for 3 years but our 4th OF was never better than our options at 1b. It's never been done due to a complete lack of a need. It was inevitable though. I have never seen anyone in the Brewers organization even mention moving Braun to 1B. That all came about because we still have Santana. edit: no need for that first sentence. removed
  13. and that says a lot... Not trading Domingo put a monkey wrench into that so called plan, that can't be denied.
  14. Drake has to go. I can't stand the thought of watching him implode even one inning. This team needs to set the best roster it can, not worry about anyone's feelings, service time, or "vetness", or anything else. Roster up your best guys and go to war. Williams should have his spot.
  15. "could" is the key word in your last sentence. I still think that not planning on anything meaningful from Jimmy was the smart play this season. If he comes back and adds to the mix, that is just a bonus. I was not on board with Arrieta, Lynn, or Cobb, but I did want Darvish.
  16. Brewers manager Craig Counsell announced that Ryan Braun will play first base against left-handed pitchers in 2018. Eric Thames will get the starts at first against right-handers. That means that Braun will start at first on Opening Day, as Milwaukee will face San Diego and Clayton Richard. Braun has reportedly had a shaky start defensively at the position, but he's made enough progress to justify putting his bat there. First base could end up being the 34-year-old's long-term position, but it appears for now he'll just be there against southpaws. We'll see if things change as the year progresses. 17. I don't find that list all that impressive... Would love to land Keuchel, but other than him, nothing really excites me.
  18. Steven Souza Jr. down until Mid May possibly. Does this open up some talks with AZ about trading Santana?
  19. Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports writes that Collin McHugh could be available in a trade. The Astros are loaded with starting pitcher depth, so it's not a huge surprise to hear that McHugh could be had in the right deal. As Heyman notes, he's due $5 million in 2018, and he's under team control through 2019 with one more arbitration-eligible season. Heyman also mentions the Twins and Orioles were interested in the right-hander earlier this season, and the Reds, Mariners, Brewers and Rangers as clubs still looking for starting pitching. Source: FanRag SportsMar 23 - 9:50 AM I'm already used to the idea of going into the season with our pitching as is, however, if we don't have to drain the farm, I'd be interested in this.
  20. Hiring a woman because she is a woman would be a giant mistake. Hire the best person available.
  21. I used to watch the Blacklist, but after season 3 I think, I gave up... Just became uninteresting to me. Spader is awesome though!
  22. I hope that in 4 years, we will be discussing the World Series Champion Milwaukee Brewers, and Cobb will be disappointed he didn't take our offer...
  23. If Villar puts up a .265/.315/.400 line along with 40-45 SBs and solid defense at 2B, I wholeheartedly disagree that he won't have much trade value. I think that we'll see a Villar/Sogard soft platoon with Villar getting most of the time there. Perez will continue playing all over the place , and will be the main back-up at 3B and SS. Expecting him to play "solid" defense is a pipe dream I'm afraid. Passable defense might be a better goal. 40 - 45 stolen bases sounds great, but at what expense to the team? The guy is a horrible base runner. Btw, I'm all for giving him another chance.
  24. That is a lot of stuff to "likely" happen with nothing to really go on.
