    I love the Brewers, and was a Senior in high school in '82, but to continuously glorify a second place team like this, and in year's past, just reminds me how hard it has been being a Brewers fan all my life...lol Kind of sad really...

    I just can't see giving up that much for Verlander, when the Tigers are going nowhere. Verlander is on the downside of his career, obviously, and with the Tigers having no possible playoff shot in the near future, they should be dying to shed that bloated salary. Giving up those prospects PLUS paying off his salary is an absolute rip-off for us. I really, REALLY hope we don't even kick his tires for an offer like that.

    If only Villar was carrying his weight, that would be a nice looking line-up.

    If Quintana comes back to last year's form for the 2nd half, this DOES hurt the Brewers. More wins for the Cubs hurts the Brewers, I don't see how anyone can refute that fact. If he wallows in his current 2017 form, that is a different story. We can spin this any way we want, but the Cubs are making moves to pass us up, and if that involves gutting their system, this helps us in the future, but not for the pennant drive in 2017. I want us to stand pat, not do anything irrationally, and see where it leads. We are deep into a rebuild, and the last thing I want to do is change directions just because the Cubs made a move. I'm glad Quintana is off the market, removes that temptation, now if only someone will swoop in and grab Gray before we do, I'll be happy.

    I think it is stupid to talk to the players on the field during the game. Seems like they are reaching pretty far to be on the cutting edge of coolness, and doing something different.

    ok, then why not acquire more pitching at the source (ie draft, free agency, etc) rather than drafting guys to trade for pitching?

    Don't forget, if the Cubs are within sniffing distance of us at the deadline, they WILL be making moves too. It isn't like we are the only ones looking to improve (if that is actually the case), the Cubs are going to be trying to catch us, and in doing so, will be heavy players as well. They may have their eyes on the same players as us. I say stand pat, stay on course, and continue to build for the future.

    we may have dodged a HUGE bullet when Villar turned down our offer this past off season... Isan Diaz can't get here soon enough.

    The way Guerra has pitched this season, the defense HAS to show up, this is ridiculous.

    Sorry, that was not a tough catch by Broxton, the way they are carrying on, you'd think he climbed the wall and robbed a HR... I will give credit where credit is due, and I like Broxton, but that was nothing special.

    Came here specifically to see the criticism of Garza because he didn't throw 7 shutout innings of 2-hit ball. For chrissakes, it was a quality start. He is close to the last thing to complain about today. Looking forward to the same roasting of Davies whenever he gives up a run, since Davies has been much worse. [sarcasm]Can't wait to see Davies optioned.[/sarcasm] How much money is Davies being paid? Garza gets a hard time because of two things. 1. He sucks. 2. He is a jerk with no team concept, me me me me attitudes turn people off.
