  1. Or, he slipped on the bag. Does everything have to be overanalyzed? Had he slid, he wouldn't have "slipped."
  2. Such a lack of focus by Keon. That should just never happen at this level, or any other level for that matter. Things like this are infuriating.
  3. Problem with that line of thinking is that then you would have to extend that same deal to all the players when they want to do the same thing with other players/teams, etc... Then you'd have to figure out which ones are telling you the truth, and which ones are just trying to get out of practice. That would be a huge can of worms, but if you are willing to have all those extra one on one practice times, have at it... (I coached high school varsity baseball and volleyball for years, I understand the ins and outs of all that is involved...lol)
  4. Marlins were scheduled to give out two different bobbleheads this weekend, think they will send them to Miller Park? lol
  5. We just simply can not field all 3 OF positions with actual outfielders. Just can't do it...
  6. Jaso's hair is a mockery to the game. So ugly and un-athletic looking.
  7. Is that supposed to be in blue?
  8. Who is suggesting we just give up on him now? The point is, his April was sick, absolutely video game material, but since then, outside of a decent July, he has been nothing more than average to below average. Not suggesting we give up on him, cut him, or anything like that, just stating what has happened. Hopefully, if we have a chance to trade him for something decent, or have the chance to pick up a full time replacement at 1B this off season, we do it, and not think that April will ever happen again. It might, but there is a better chance that it does not...
  9. His OPS for the month of July was 861. What about May, June and August? Without April, his year would be pathetic and he might be out a job in 2018.
  10. Woodruff not looking so hot tonight... Anyone still think he is just as good for a playoff run as Nelson? *sigh*
  11. *my head hurts* There is no possible chance that pitching the bull pen or some other form of 9 innings of hellball from this point on will have better results than Jimmy Nelson. I can't buy that, makes no sense. I think it can be painted any way you want, but losing Nelson for the remainder of the season AND the playoffs if that becomes a reality is freaking major blow to any success we might have had!
  12. It's the 2nd inning guys... Really? I get it, this team is frustrating, but we have 7.5 innings left to play.
  13. If Counsell starts Garza, and it costs them a playoff spot in the long run, Counsell should lose his job!! Garza should not pitch again this year unless it is mop up innings one way or the other. He NEEDS to be done! Any managerial decision to start Matt Garza should cost that manager his job. What if Garza starts and has a good outing? Does Counsell still lose his job or does he get to keep it? Just trying to keep track of all this. I'm guessing players will lose all respect for CC if he names Garza starter, and he'll be fired. Then Garza has a good outing, players respect CC again and he is re-hired. Garza gets a 2nd start, gets rocked. Now CC, Stearns, Uecker, and Hank the Dog are all fired. Players lose respect for Ed Sedar and Jerry Augustine, but they keep their jobs. Finally, players DO respect the Italian Racing Sausage, but he's fired anyhow. My post was a knee jerk fan reaction, of course I know that would never happen. Add to the fact that I think Counsell has an endless leash, and that makes it even more improbable...

  15. Hard to be hot when you've been benched the last 4 games...
  16. Please, not Peralta and not Garza. ANyone but them and I'm a happy boy! EDIT: Oh, Freddy Peralta, that makes more sense than Wily...lol What was I thinking?
  17. ...anyone have any insight as to why he has been benched when he was actually starting to hit again? This just seems odd to me. He makes a game changing mistake in CF 4 games ago, an unfamiliar position that he shouldn't be playing anyway, and suddenly he rides the pine for 4 straight games? At a time when our offense needs a boost, which he had been providing up until that point, then he gets benched? I have been scratching my head at a LOT of Counsell's moves this season, which have been magnified due to the fact that we are in a playoff chase. It was easy to overlook his decision making process when we had no chance to compete before this year, but what has gone on this year leads me to wonder if he is the guy to take us to the next step in the future... I have almost zero confidence in him anymore, one dumb decision after the next. Same thing happened with my opinion of Yost, and RRR. The better our teams played, the more their poor managing was magnified.
  18. Except, now we have to worry about the damn Cardinals.
  19. As long as Garza doesn't start a game, sky is the limit!
  20. Once again, starting a non true outfielder in a playoff hunt just kills us... (No, I do not consider Perez a true outfielder) I don't understand why we can't play real OFers in games that truly matter to our playoff chances... It's asinine.
  21. That subject has no place here. That is going to go nowhere but bad places. Weird you would bring it up after a comment that goes exactly against what you are trying to claim. "like"
  22. Ahhhhh, the race card... When you play it where it has no business, it has no effectiveness. There is no reason to continue to post on the subject now once it goes that direction. Thanks for playing, but the game is now over...
  23. More importantly, are you trying to say he was a bright player? Would any informed fan take that position? Calling him dumb is ridiculous. I don't know how bright he is, I've never seen his ACT scores, but attacking his intellectual ability just reeks of desperation in defending the fact that you don't like him, and that he was a bad baseball player. I see no reason for anyone to call him a dumb ass, just makes you look like what you are describing.
