  1. As long as Villar STOPS hitting in the lead off spot, I'm fine with giving him an extended look again, but only if we have exhausted all our options. (DeJesus, possible under the radar trade, etc.) Continuing to plug him into that #1 spot is just plain crazy at this point.
  2. I see no possible chance that Counsell is gone after this year. He is like royalty in this organization (for whatever reason) and my thinking is he gets a loooooooong leash. He really is no different than Roenicke to be honest. I was one that wanted RRR gone long before we finally cut that chord. I have been giving Craig a chance since he was hired, but it just feels so much like RRR that I am running out of patience. Oh, and he can take Sedar with him...
  3. How does everyone know it was pressure and they arent "mentally tough?" How do people know this and just state it factually? In 162 games teams have bad patches and sometimes it happens in big series. Invariably when it does, the armchair qbs seem to know without a doubt that these guys lack toughness or some magic mental ability to want to win. Agreed. They seemed pretty mentally tough when they were winning the division when no one else gave them a chance... I think claiming they are not mentally tough is a reach, they are after all, professional athletes.
  4. Because Counsell subscribes to the Ron Roenicke school of thought...
  5. Having Captain Kirk on this team just allows Counsell the ability to play him in situations that make no sense to the development of this current team. Meaning, any game that Kirk starts is one of those situations. We all remember Counsell starting and playing him last year for no apparent reason to the detriment of the guys we needed to be seeing... Watch and see, he'll start in place of Brinson here and there and we will all be shaking our heads in amazement...
  6. I never tune into ESPN anymore... EVER!
  7. A hit from the pitchers spot with guys on is never a good thing...
  8. I find it gross that we are even considering a move like this. I hope it is just fake news. This move would make me gag...
  9. Is there a stat someplace that list bullpen losses by team? We have to be in the top 5 in that category, right?
  10. All I can say is that I am really happy that some in this thread are not calling any shots in our front office. Jeepers creepers...
  11. Trent Clark?
  12. DFA Torres and Scahill... Sick and tired of this Suck Show!
  13. Again, with Guerra going tonight, 3 in a row is pretty possible, if not probable...
  14. Guerra tomorrow right? 2 in a row becomes 3 pretty easily with that gascan throwing...
  15. There is the Ed Sedar we all know and love... UGH!
  16. Why, at least it was close... Sedar sends guys that get thrown out by 10 feet.
  17. At least we clear the pitcher this inning. And by pitcher, I mean villar.
  18. Even if you have a 90% shot of making it there is 0 reason to risk it down 3 in the 9th. They need 3, in that situation he can cruise to 2nd on defensive indifference in the next AB if he wants to. If he is hustling, he makes it 100% of the time, there was no risk involved at all if he is hauling butt. Probably goes into 2B standing if he is hustling.
