  1. Oh man, I hated that guy... Yeah, I think he was like 99-1 for games he attended...
  2. Seems like a lot of speculation there if you ask me. I highly doubt Melvin was as powerless as you claim, and I highly doubt Attanasio was calling as many shots as you claim either.
  3. Apparently not as well as the Yankees, the Twins, the Astros, the Reds, the Padres, and especially the Braves. They all have a better pitching staff than ours. I bet at least 3 of those teams improve. and we can't improve?
  4. that sure got interesting...at least he finished it up.
  5. I don't think Parra was acquired as a flip guy though, I think he was acquired to help us on our playoff run...
  6. Since so many on this site think it is a common occurrence, and that it is actually easy to pick up players on the cheap, then flip them to teams who had a chance at picking up those same players at one time, I'm just curious, how many times have the Brewers actually picked up players with the intent of flipping them at the trade deadline, and then actually flipped them for a return that actually benefited the team in the long run. It seems that term is used a lot on these boards, but I'd like to know how often it actually happens, and what the return was for those players who were flipped.
  7. Ed Sedar is a complete knob. The day he is gone will be a day to rejoice, I don't want him anywhere near a contending team.
  8. Saw T-Rats tonight, Diplan looked awesome! Pitching is coming around for the T-Rats, now once those bats heat up, it will be a fun summer in Appleton! This is a fun team to watch, lots of pure athletes, lots of speed, and they look like they are having fun out there... 6 in a row, 2 straight shut-outs!
  9. Monty, you just got me all pumped up! The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades!
  10. So it looks like the Timber Rattlers can now take Lucroy off the "fan's choice" contest bobblehead list? I was surprised he was on it to begin with. Name recognition I guess...
  11. Read facebook forums, etc, the casual fan has no idea of the rebuilding concept. They have no idea that the MLB team builds from the minor league clubs, and that restocking those clubs is the future of the MLB team. They are mad that we suck, and we traded away all the "good" players. It's everywhere. Not everyone who semi follows the team is a brewerfan.net member...
  12. This is what I mean when I say he needs to be held on to vs traded. There isn't a #3 batter like him for this team forthcoming this season or next. You want to spend $30mil the next two years so we have a good #3 hitter on a 90+ loss team? There are arguments to not trade Braun...but that one seems like a bit of a stretch. That 30 million means nothing to a rebuilding team... Their payroll is already so low, that 30 mil. just doesn't matter. If we get rid of every name player the casual fan knows, no matter what some think, there will be fewer trips to Miller Park for a lot of people. Your tailgating work party might move someplace else if there are no players on the field anyone recognizes. I'm all for trading him for an overwhelming offer, but trading him to get rid of his salary I can not get behind.
  13. It seems Blazek pitches in every single game...
  14. How do you think they should pronounce it? VILL-AR? He's from the Dominican Republic....where they speak Spanish. The double L in Spanish is pronounced like a Y in English. I get it, it just annoys me...my problem, no one else's..
  15. Stick that up your Boooing Bums Cubbie fans! I still love Ryan Braun!
  16. Pitching Torres is like giving up... I'm kind of sick of Aaron Hill already. The pronunciation of Villar annoys me. Santana is unimpressive, I hope he is able to figure things out. Flores and Nieuwenhuis are just never going to cut it. Keep that seat warm boys. That is all.
  17. Why was it a reason to get rid of him? I just don't get it. So he had some base running blunders...probably costed us less runs/games than Fielder's horrid defense and everyone loved him. Look at the big picture. Gomez was one of our best players for two years and had massive value to the team. Like every player he had weaknesses. This isn't about Prince, this is about Gomez, who would not be a good link on a rebuilding team. He would have the opposite effect on young guys. The guy is just so irresponsible on the basepaths, the last thing we need now or in the future is another guy like him.
  18. How could anyone get back into cards? I got out a LONG time ago, and have never looked back. I occasionally pick up auto inserts of minor league Brewers on ebay, but that is it...
  19. Comparing Jenkins to Braun in any way seems a bit "reachy" to me... carry on.
  20. Yeah, so many of the Brewers minor league bobbles that were selling for a ton a few years back, have stalled out. Same thing with the Brewers SGA bobbles. They have become next to worthless, just too many of them given out.
  21. No thanks, I'm glad the Gomez show is no longer in Milwaukee. I want nothing to do with his style of baseball...
  22. What are you looking for in trade? I'd probably be interested. Value is pretty tough to determine on this one since he is no longer a Brewer prospect. Autos mean a lot to some, and nothing to others when it comes to bobbles... I happen to fall in the "nothing" catagory unless I see the auto live. Too many fakes out there, and if given the choice, I'd rather have a clean bobble to display over an autographed one. I am taking a stab in the dark on this one, but I'd say the value is probably about $30. When this one first came out, it was getting $50 on ebay, but the last few I have seen either haven't sold, or went for about $20 or less plus shipping.
