    Whips

I saw Whips in Appleton last weekend on the Mile of Music... Man, they blew me away! Anyone here seen them in the Milwaukee area? They are from Milwaukee after all. Singer's voice is just plain awesome! She was a treat to watch as well. Bought their cd after their performance and literally can not quit playing it. It's been a long time since I was this excited about a band, much less a band that is virtually unknown to the rest of the world... Anyone else get infected by them?
  2. NICE! If Segura can't do it himself, what better way to score the tying run than a wild pitch? Good times... and with that Jeanie whiffs!
  3. Rather Gomez-esque don't you think? He was given a free pass for years, why penalize Scooter for the same nonsense?
  4. I just have to say, that price guide is completely outdated... It really needs to be fixed up to reflect the current market. A lot of those bobbles have gone down in price, and there are also quite a few that have gone up in value as well. (sadly, though I think there are more that took a dive than went up.) MPS, those top 3 are probably pretty accurate (at least in the ballpark, but that Gorman is now in the $10 range too), but that gold glove Gomez is worth $15 tops as well... I have seen a lot of people going by that guide, because there is nothing else out there to compare prices to, but if you want to find out what bobbles are truly worth, look to eBay, and look in their "sold" section. eBay will tell you what people are willing to pay for them, which is probably the most accurate way to find a bobble's value these days.
  5. I fixed that for you...
  6. Then why call him up at all? I hope that is the case, but that wouldn't make any sense.
  7. strange he left that out of his tweet...
  8. Parra is probably starting because there are no deals to be made for him. Maybe, just maybe, there is not one deal in the making that includes Parra, so they figure they might as well just play him. Looks like we may have played our hand too long when it comes to Lind, Parra, Cotts and K-Rod...
  9. I would be super happy with this deal IF Gomez was only signed through this season. I can't say that I am completely unhappy, but I'm not jumping for joy either. Just really wanted more. I knew we weren't going to be able to pull one of the other 4 Mets starters for Gomez, but was sure hoping for a miracle. I do think it's true that if Wheeler wasn't hurt, we wouldn't have gotten him either. Times like these are bittersweet for Brewer fans. We grow attached to players like Gomez (even though he frustrated the heck out of me on a regular basis), and know we can't sign them when their contract is up, so we have to say good bye. Best of luck to Carlos.
  10. Wow, I totally missed that! Did he have a name card in front of him? Guess I should have looked closer, but I wouldn't have had anything for him to sign anyway...
  11. Using a stamp is pretty lame...What a waste of everyone's time. If a player starts doing that, my opinion of them would change quite a bit. That is prima donna nonsense in my opinion. I'd rather get the item back unsigned than have it ruined with a stupid stamp.
  12. In past years, it has been exactly the same. After the auto session, then the players wander over to the picnic area to grab a bite to eat, and be annoyed by fans who want them to sign things, even though they just had a designated time to do so. Thanks, Turbo. I was hoping for a thinner autograph crowd at the STH picnic, but I'll just roll the dice with the Autograph Sunday line. I wouldn't want to pester the players when they are trying to eat, especially after they just finished an autograph session. Don't take what I said as fact, I'm just going by what they have done the past 3 or 4 years. They could switch it up on us. lol The T-Rats do advertise the picnic as a chance to meet the players, so I don't think it is out of line to ask them to sign there, but if they are sitting down with their families and/or teammates and eating, then I think it is best to leave them alone...
  13. We must have been in that line at the same time. I was about the 5th person in line when it started. I understand why they want to personalize it (to keep it from ending up on eBay), but I don't want the autos in my collection to have my name on them... I haven't had the guts to ask Devin Williams if he could sign it without my name yet (so far, he is the only one that asks for your name)...Maybe that last week, if I have something for him to sign, I'll ask if he would kindly just put his name on it. All he can do is say no.
  14. In past years, it has been exactly the same. After the auto session, then the players wander over to the picnic area to grab a bite to eat, and be annoyed by fans who want them to sign things, even though they just had a designated time to do so. In the past, this is the best time to try and get Matt Erickson though, he doesn't do the typical Auto Sundays.
  15. Another successful T-Rats auto Sunday! Kodi Medeiros has now started the "I'll only sign one thing" system, which is best for the lines, but unpopular with the kids that shove 15 cards in front of these guy's face... I like the sign one thing idea, and I wish the T-Rats would just make that a standing rule. Not sure what he'd say if you went to the end of the line and made it through for another signature though. I would think that would be acceptable, but I'd hate to do it and have him turn me down...lol I got a photo of him in last night's "North Pole Reindeer" uniform, so the photos I have are pretty cool and unique for the collection. Also took photos of Cotto last night and got one signed today, as well as a few other players. Cotto seemed like a little kid when signing, it's nice to see these young guys who aren't tainted by fame yet actually want to sign for you. He commented on my photo, liked it a lot because of the North Pole uniforms, so I told him I'd make him a copy. When guys seem impressed by the photos I take, I always offer to make one for them. It gets a bit pricey ($3.00 each, which seems like nothing for one photo, but that adds up pretty quickly) The lines are getting more congested as the summer wears on. They just aren't set up for big crowds, which is fine through June, but once July hits, the Sunday crowds get bigger, and it seems more and more people stay for the autographs. They could easily put the tables where the players sign deeper into the tented area, making more room for the lines, but they have yet to figure that out, and you have a lot of bodies in a confined space. Not to mention the rude kids and adults who have no concept of "going to the end of the line" for the players they want. All in all, still a great way to get future Brewers autos, but with some fine tuning, it could be better than great! Hard to believe, but there is only one Auto Sunday left this season...
  16. They give you a seven day grace period to pay them online at illinoistollway.com. No need to pull over to pay the tolls, just hop on-line within seven days, look up your license plate number, and pay it. What is the fine if you don't pay it?
  17. Thanks for the heads up, but I only need the 1994, and his 1994 is not the SGA (stadium give-away) I got the 1993 from him, but the 94 is not the SGA. Thanks again, I appreciate you taking the time to let me know...
  18. Beloit?
  19. 100 pitch complete game!!!! Love seeing these young guys, our future, looking so good!
  20. RRR would never have allowed Jungmann to finish this out... Kudos to CC!
  21. ...I'd throw teachers into that mix as well.
  22. I take the photos during the actual game... It takes a little effort, have to bounce from side to side of the stadium to get the hitters, especially since Erickson likes to go lefty, righty, lefty, righty in his line-ups. By the time they get through the order a 2nd time, I usually have what I need since I get all the righties, then move to the lefties... Like I said, I got through everyone a 2nd time by the 3rd inning because they were scoring and hitting the crap out of the ball...lol I like to get photos of the pitchers from behind home plate, just to the left or right, depending on whether the pitcher throws right handed, or left. If all the front row seats are taken, then I am out of luck with the pitchers because of the netting, but that has only happened once or twice since I have been doing this. I have it down to a science now that I have been doing this since 2009 religiously. 8x10s at Wal-Mart are $3 each in the one hour photo section. (It gets pricey when you add up how many I get per season, but it's kind of fun, and I know the sigs are all authentic since I get them myself) They never take that long, by the time I edited them (zoomed in, etc...) and sent in the order, it was a 15 minute wait after I submitted them. I made it back by the top of the 5th inning (actually, now that I think about it, it was the end of the bottom of the 5th) this time, so I made great time...
