  1. Not to the Orioles, that's for sure...
  2. Exactly... There is always someone dumb enough (or desperate enough) to make stupid moves like this. Glad it wasn't us this time.
  3. I'm looking for a complete list of ONLY Ryan Braun FC bobbles. If anyone knows of any that are missing from the list below, please post in this thread... (I normally hate FC bobbles, but have picked these up over the years for the heck of it) Thanks in advance! The ones in blue, I own, if anyone has the others to trade or sell, please let me know. 2008 2008 (Rookie of the Year - navy jersey) 2008 (18" Rookie of the Year - Navy Jersey) 2009 - Photo Base 2009 - Photo Base (Pinstripes) 2010 - Helmet Base 2011 - Plate Base 2012 2012 - MVP 2013 - Pennant Base
  4. If you guys don't get a return, do you wait for a while and then resend? Seems like a lot of work and money goes into this little venture...
  5. Gennett was pretty good in 230 plate appearances, Weeks has been horrible in his last 1200. If picking one of the two, which would you pick? It is valid to say Gennett hasn't had enough plate appearances to say he deserves the full time job, BUT, it is also valid to say weeks has sucked for a long time and he doesn't deserve the job either... Which brings me to my original question: Based on Gennett's 230 total plate appearances, and Weeks' last 1200, who would you rather see as out starter? I think it's an easy decision.
  6. I think we are just stuck, for the 2nd straight year, with no good, or even average option at a key power/run producing position. Oh how I miss Prince!
  7. Ugghhh. I hate the fact we are still tossing around the same names for a key offensive position on this team. Francisco, Smoak, Reynolds, etc. As a fan, those names are pretty unexciting. I am 100% against Reynolds and Francisco (Overbay) even taking up roster space, much less get significant playing time. The thought of watching these bums all season long makes me ill. And, jerichoholicninja is correct, if we try and get away with a non 1B filling that position again this year, someone needs to get canned ASAP! Reynolds career K % is 37%... This is more than once every three at bats. 2007 - 35% 2008 - 38% (204) 2009 - 39% (223 = MLB record) 2010 - 42% (211 = 4th worst in MLB history) 2011 - 37% (196) 2012 - 35% (159) 2013 - 35% (154) I just want no part of this kind of production in Milwaukee unless we are playing against him...
  8. Do the Mariners not know that Hart is an absolute liability in the outfield? Man, you'd think that a professional baseball team would have some clue as to what their players have done in the past. His last year playing in RF was a mess, it was a complete blessing that he was able to shift to 1B on the defensive side. Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said Wednesday that Corey Hart will mostly work in the outfield early on in camp. Hart missed the entire 2013 season while recovering from dual knee surgeries, so the Mariners are going to take it easy with him early in camp. He did everything but sliding during drills on Tuesday. The hope is that Hart will feel comfortable enough to play the outfield on a regular basis, but he could also rotate to first base and the DH spot on occasion.
  9. He's a super nice kid too, I chatted with him a couple times during last season at the autograph tables when the crowd was thinning...
  10. That isn't according to RRR though, that is according to the article... I may be mistaken, but I swear RRR already announced that Scooter was going to be our starter at 2B for the 2014 season a while back.
  11. Not so fast for those who think Weeks is going to be starting out on the bench... RRR has spoken. Brewers manager Ron Roenicke expects Rickie Weeks (hamstring) to be "full-go" when he reports to spring training this week. Weeks' 2013 season ended in mid-August when he underwent surgery to repair a torn left hamstring. Roenicke says Weeks is "doing really well," though, and ready to battle for the second base job. Scooter Gennett is seen as the favorite to start over Weeks at the keystone. Source: Brewers.mlb.com
  12. If anyone has extras to trade, please shoot me a PM. My Trade list: viewtopic.php?f=68&t=29000 http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n136/turborickey/ChinooksUeckerbobble_zps9f1abbd5.jpg
  13. If Kemp can be had for what people here are assuming, you can bet there would be teams standing in line with better deals to offer than anything we can put together... It's fun to dream, but the Dodgers aren't going to give him away to the first team to come calling, they surely would shop him around the league and take their best offer, which looking at what we can offer, wouldn't be the Brewers.
  14. The manager can't mess up a lineup it is nearly impossible with this team as there really is only one good batter in Braun and a few average bats followed by a lot of below average (Gennett, Bianchi, Francisco, Schafer, and Maldonado). The only way to have a bad lineup would be to have Bianchi Gennett Maldonado and Schafer all playing on the same day. Talk about a black hole of horrible bats that would be a very bad lineup. This should be bookmarked, as I bet this exact lineup will occur on a couple different occasions this season. (like on one of those special "throw in the towel" Sundays that RRR likes to quit on...) If anyone can mess up a line-up, RRR can, and has proven so many times in the past.
  15. Ok, well if that is the case, I still don't agree with that strategy. All it does is give our manager one more way to screw up the line-up and allow him to tinker with things he is incapable of tinkering with... I digress.
  16. Are his platoons one dimensional one position type players? Players that no one else wants, that we want because we are desperate? (Overbay, Francisco, Reynolds). There is a difference between what he is doing and what we might be doing...
  17. All these potential platoons stink... If we are in bad enough position that we have to consider 2 platoons, Melvin is not doing his job, especially if those platoons involve one dimensional players who only have one position. Francisco is an absolute hack at 3B, and only slightly better at 1B. On a normal MLB team, he is a pinch hitter at best, and when he does have to play the field, it would be at 1B. Any self-respecting GM or Manager would never consider this guy at 3B again after last's years debacle. Is Reynolds any better at 3B? Platooning these two guys is asinine since neither offers anything defensively. If their best contribution is offensively, with their strikeout rate, once again, Melvin is not doing his job. Overbay = one position... We have put up with a full season of a black hole at 1B, and it sure looks like we are about to do the same this season unless there is a BIG move coming soon. I am not holding my breath. Both Gennett and Weeks only have one position... I just hate the kind of roster inflexibility our current roster demonstrates.
  18. Rickie could cure cancer, play gold glove D, slash 300/400/500, and giveaway 500 bobbleheads to blind orphans and it wouldn't change your mind about him. In fact, you'd probably knock him because 50 of the 500 were variants. Ummmm, that is a bit extreme. You are right, the last two seasons have made up my mind about Weeks. I can't forget the absolute frustration I have felt during that time about his place in the line-up and on the team... Could I say the same about your view? Rickie could slash 200/250/300 and you would continue to make excuses for him...
  19. If this is true, I am officially excited! http://bleacherreport.com/tb/dcqWB?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=milwaukee-brewers
  20. Season 9, not as good as season 8, but there are some great moments for sure...
  21. ^ hmmmmmm ^ I guess it just isn't for everyone...
  22. I think some of us are forgetting just how god-awful Weeks has been the past two seasons. This is now a trend, and since he is on the down-side of his career age-wise, I am shocked how many people still think he can turn things around. The only thing Rickie has earned is an outright release, or at best a spot start every now and then. He has been completely over matched at the plate, and his defense has gotten even worse, if that is possible. If he weren't a home grown Brewer, and Melvin considered trading for him, or signing him as a free agent, the majority of this board would groan in disappointment, as they should... The Weeks era looks to be over, and judging by his last two seasons, it should be over. I think we have to ride out his contract and part ways. It happens, and in this case, it needs to happen.
  23. Still looking for 4 magnets: 1993 1994 1995 1999 If anyone has them, and they want to sell them, please let me know. Thanks!
  24. To be honest, if they can sign Burnett I'd trade Nelson, Thornburg, Estrada and Tyrone Taylor and anybody else in the minors to start trade negotiations with the Marlins for Stanton, then we match up very well with the Cards and can win the division. We'd have to go 3 years for Burnett guaranteed to entice him. Money is the most important thing. I agree with the other poster that if it was a geographical thing he would have signed already. Ummmmmm.....................................ok, I've got nothing to say, I'm speechless.
