  1. I'd rather have depth in talent though, rather than just depth in numbers... Once we get past Nelson, I don't have a lot of faith in what's left... I'd say we are potentially 7 deep in guys that could help us this year, after that, it's a crapshoot. I have no faith in Fiers, Burgos or Hellweg to come in and spot start or fill in for a long injury.
  2. I know, but there are a lot of Brewers collectors who have this set........Just spreading the news. Racing sausages must have some kind of far removed connection to racing Presidents...lol
  3. Anyone know when the voting is final?
  4. I know a lot of collectors have this set, I just read that the Nationals are giving away the final President and newest member, William "Bill" Taft on August 17th... Just a head's up for those who have the other 4...
  5. Does anyone have confirmed information how these will be distributed? One per season ticket seat, or one per package (number of seats doesn't matter) I have now heard both ways, any season ticket holders that know the answer for certain?
  6. I may have an open slot in a 12 team keeper, fantasy points league, no money involved...
  7. If we sign Marmol, I will have lost what little faith I have in our entire front office, including Attanasio. This would be bad, very bad!
  8. Monty = the voice of reason... If we can get Smoak for almost nothing, a low level no ceiling minor league player, why not? Anything of value and I'd pass...
  9. I can fully respect that, I'm a die-hard Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan for pretty much the same reason. When they came into the league I was in 7th grade, and immediately fell in love with those orange uniforms. I bailed on the Packers, and have been a Bucs fan ever since. You want to talk about grief, be anything other than a Packer fan and live 30 minutes from Lambeau Field...lol
  10. Just curious, how did you become a Brewers fan living in NY your entire life?
  11. I think the bobble package ended on Friday, which included free opening day tickets (which included the Scooter bobble) I'd be surprised though if they didn't let you have the entire package if you call first thing Monday...
  12. I'd like to have seen Sixto, Juan Nieves, Teddy H., Vaughn, Deer, Burnitz, etc, etc. as options
  13. Obviously, since both the Brewers and T-Rats are doing Scooter this year... 2 Scooters AND 2 Hendersons in the same season? Oh well...
  14. This is exactly how I feel about it, but getting 2 Hendersons (Brewers and T-Rats) in one season is a bit overkill... Save Garza for next season...
  15. Brewers Released the 3 choices for the July 27 Fan Vote Bobblehead : Wily Peralta, Jim Henderson and Matt Garza. Henderson is getting one for the Timber Rattlers this year, and Garza hasn't even suited up yet as a Brewer. My vote will be for Wily Peralta, who should have gotten one this year anyway... WILY!
  16. The first batch on ebay will be sky high, for those that are willing to pay any cost to get one... They will come down for sure, they always do... The alternates/retro versions are not commanding the cost they once did, in fact, you can get some of the later ones for cheap, cheap, very cheap... I would guess the first Segura will list at $200 or so, and someone will pay it! Then they will come down to earth and I wouldn't be surprised to see them selling at $40-$50 by summer's end... Of course, I could be wrong, first time for everything.
  17. I was never a Branyan fan like so many others. Those type of players infuriate me to no end during the season. Just don't like excessive strike-outs, and Reynolds will provide us with plenty of those...
  18. No clue on price... I guess I will wait and see how the market plays out before I decide on a price... I'd be willing to give up a lot in trade though, I have a lot of desirable bobbles to trade if anyone wants to go that route. It will be interesting to see what these go for on ebay, because you know they will end up there, like all the rest...
  19. I almost hope you are right if getting a 1B has to involve Thornburg or Nelson... Throw all the 1B we have against the wall and hope that one of them sticks I guess. I have no faith in Reynolds and his Ks though... I really hate the idea of seeing this guy in our line-up day after day, even in a platoon, the thought of his rally killing whiffs does not make me happy...
  20. *bump* Will still be looking for the Segura Season ticket holder bobble!!!!
  21. I'm not a big autograph guy (I dabble loosely in Brewers autos, but go full on for the T-Rats), or jerseys for that matter... What do you guys do with all the jerseys? Wear them, display them, or just hoard them?
  22. If anyone has interest, I'll sell the lot for $50 plus shipping.
  23. whew! (signing with another team last year did not stop us from rostering him later though.....so there is that.)
  24. Since we are loosely talking about Overbay and Reynolds, I want nothing to do with either of them. Talk about unexciting guys to add to the roster... One is a strikeout king with flashes of power, the other an average at best has-been who is now below average. Why on earth add guys like this to our roster at all? I don't want to see either of them get a single at bat this season, and you can add Francisco in with them as well. Our lack of a plan at 1B, now for 2 straight seasons disgusts me. I am so-so on the Garza signing. If he can possibly stay healthy, we got him on a good deal, but if he makes 15 starts a year, some of them at less than 100% due to some injury not being reported or whatever, this deal isn't so good after all. I will be shocked if we average 20+ starts from him for the life of his contract. On paper, our rotation is now serviceable, but we need the old Yo, the recent Lohse, Peralta to step up, Estrada to stay healthy, and Garza to earn his paychecks and stay on the field for things to go right. We need a run producing 1B, not a whiff king or a guy named "O."
