  1. lol You are taking any comment I made out of context. As I already said, some were saying he should remain closer until Williams was ready to take that role back again. Megill was doing a great job, there was no reason to thrust Williams back into the closer role until he was feeling comfortable again. But you already know that, just doesn't fit your narrative.
  2. Who said that? I saw people saying that he should be eased back into the closer roll, and not be thrust into it his first day off the IL, but don't remember anyone saying that they permanently wanted him in the 8th. C'mon.
  3. Even if he has a small degree of guilt, MLB wants this to go away badly. They will do, and probably have done all they can to make this disappear, hoping everyone just forgets it ever happened.
  4. We shall see in 2025...
  5. Meh, that means nothing for 2025. Wouldn't make any sense in those situations to move Turang to SS and Ortiz to 2B. I view that as not disrupting the entire infield. Easier to slide Ortiz to SS and leave Turang be, than to move everyone around. In the long run, I view Turang as our everyday SS with Ortiz being the 2B or 3B depending on what moves we make in the off season for a 3B.
  6. I see this all the time, why does everyone assume that Ortiz will be at SS next year? I'm thinking it will be Turang at SS and Ortiz at 2B, assuming they bring in or up a legit 3B. This isn't aimed at you ClosetBrewerFan. I see a lot of posts that assume Ortiz will be at SS rather than Turang.
  7. Where would we be without Myers? I shudder to think...
  8. Balks are like traveling in the NBA these days. Rarely gets called.
  9. Only 2 home series left... Should be fun right before the playoffs. Wondering what the plans are now for Tayden Hall? I suppose between him and Burke, one can always DH.
  10. If Black is an immediate impact bat, why in the hell are we not taking advantage? I am seriously starting to wonder if the Brewers see him like a lot of us here do... I m expecting him to be traded this offseason, mostly due to the fact that he has no defensive home.
  11. Don't stop now, keep POURING IT ON!
  12. Unloaded was a bad word to use, should I have just said I was unhappy when we chose to allow him to leave? You know what I meant.
  13. I was very unhappy when we unloaded this guy, at least another organization was able to see that he has some value: Good luck Max! Phillies selected the contract of RHP Max Lazar from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. It’s the first trip to the big-leagues for the 25-year-old hurler. He was originally drafted as an 11th round pick by the Brewers from the 2017 draft class. He has bene outstanding in 34 appearances between Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season, compiling a 1.79 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and a 53/9 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 innings of work. He’ll get at least a few days to show what he can do before the Phillies’ need to make room on the active roster for the return of Ranger Suarez.
  14. Yeah, and to think that can't happen to the Brewers is insane. The Guardians are a really good team, it can happen to anyone.
  15. So awesome. Wish I had known about that event, would have been cool to be there...
  16. I am fully expecting a trade in the off season similar to the Yelich deal a few years ago. Something that no one is expecting, that costs us some prospects, but gives us a top notch bat to add to the lineup for the next 3 or 4 years. Who that is, is anyone's guess, like I said, it will be something out of left field that we never saw coming... Only problem with this is that it just isn't enough. We will have to replace Adames bat, plus add another good bat. I think we are 2 solid bats and 2 top notch starting pitchers away from doing some serious damage in the NL come playoff time. We know the Phillies and Dodgers will be making big moves this off season. I fully expect the Cubs to join that party as well.
  17. One more thing, I am not against signing Adames to a 3 or 4 year deal, but 4 max. That alone probably takes us out of the running. In a perfect world, he gives us a nice hometown discount and he signs for 4 years at $15 million per. Problem is, someone desperate (Dodgers) will probably add another 40 million to that number, or better yet, another 2 years plus 60 million, making it impossible for us to consider. I can see the Dodgers going 6 years, 25 million per. Crazy talk, and out of our range. Imagine those last 3 years with that contract? *shudder* I do think that he would give us the chance to match any offer he may get, but in the end, no matter how much he likes it here, money will dictate his leaving or staying...
  18. I think we have to be really careful depending on Woodruff to be anything like his normal self. I can see him coming back and not immediately being the guy we are counting on. Hopefully by midseason, he is able to have some semblance to his old self, but if we put too much stock in counting on him to be our ace again, I think there is a big chance for major disappointment. Front office HAS to have a plan other than a wish and a prayer! They need to address this rotation in the off season. Going into the 2025 season like we did in 2024 will be truly disappointing. I am completely omitting Gasser from our plans, and hoping that he is fully back in 2026. To me, Peralta is just a guy now. A good #3, but he is not our staff ace this year, in fact, he is our #3 behind both Rea and Myers. Hard to imagine saying that back in April, but that is what has transpired. Hopefully our rotation looks something like this when we open the 2025 season: (I say hopefully, sincerely hoping that we add a legit frontline starter somehow, some way) 1. New starter 2. Peralta 3. Rea 4. Myers 5. Woodruff (I want nothing more than to be wrong about him) 6. Misiorowski added at some point in the first half. We just can't hang our hat on guys like Civale, Keuchel, and Montas if we are serious about winning a pennant. These stopgaps and band aid moves just aren't going to get us there.
  19. Hoskins isn't leaving. We can stop thinking he is, he's not.
  20. Well, was there a rookie pitcher the likes of Paul Skenes that year? In my opinion, there should be a pitching rookie of the year, and an offensive rookie of the year. Why they don't do it that way is beyond me.
  21. Well, the dude hasn't pitched since August 1st. He needed to get some work in, what better of a spot than with bases loaded for your closer who needs to throw some pitches?
  22. A ball to AAA ball all in one season!
  23. or how about "robots?" Do we really need to see that same post in every single game thread?
  24. I'd love to agree with this, but this team is running on fumes. What about this team makes you think things can get better? The afterthought starting rotation? The lackluster offense? The overused bullpen? The in over his head manager? You are right, every team goes through this, but a lot of those teams are just better than the Brewers. You bring up the Phillies and Dodgers, but their rosters don't even come close to comparing to ours. We know those teams will rebound based on the talent up and down the roster. Our team is lacking in so many areas that a rebound is far from a given.
