  1. I agree. Especially since we had such a glaring need for pitchers. To get 2 of this caliber is just too good to pass up. This team as it now sits is dangerous. If/when we start getting production from 3B/SS it will be scary-dangerous.
  2. That is completely awesome. Thanks!
  3. Thanks!
  4. Seeing as how you're obviously good with Photoshop, PLEASE show me Prince Fielder in full Mr. T. attire, including the mohawk and facial hair. "I pity the fool that comes high and tight on Mr. P!"
  5. Thanks for clearing it up. I've never seen The Princess Bride, so the reference is lost on me. Carry on.
  6. Dread Pirate Roenicke. He makes a lot of inconceivable moves.Yargh. Now I'm really lost. How do inconceivable moves make him a pirate?
  7. logan, why do you refer to Roeneckie as DPR? I'm confrused.
  8. When RR speaks he reminds me a lot of Woody Harrelson. Sounds a bit like him and even has similar mannerisms. I hope this means we're safe from zombies.
  9. I was, and am still, baffled as to why we let Joe Inglett go. Did I miss something there?
  10. My impression was that they were surprised by it being done at all, but I may have been wrong.
  11. Nice little article about our catcher on the FS Wisconsin website. Nothing real Earth shattering, but still nice to read.
  12. In my mind, that still puts it on the catcher. If the catcher didn't commit his illegal act, there would be no reason for the runner to commit his illegal act. This would also mean most base runners trying to break up a DP by going hard into second base should be out. Plenty of times the 2b is behind the bag, but the runner still comes in hard. Where does it end?
  13. I really don't get the whole "slide around the catcher (or parts thereof)" proposed by Morosi and others. It's far too ambiguous. a) How far should a runner have to go to avoid a collision? b) What happens when the "how far" varies greatly between umpires, or even between plays with a single umpire? The easy answer to those questions would be that "umpire variance is all part of the game," which would pretty much lead myself and others right back to "collisions at the plate are all part of the game."
  14. ^ What he said.
  15. The Nats announcers were pretty surprised by the "Coffey Clock." I wonder if the Nats will adopt it at their house.
  16. brwrsfan, what leads you to believe Morgan is in the dog house? I'm not saying that he isn't, I'm just wondering.
  17. With what you are suggesting, Braun is in big trouble next year. I'm not suggesting anything. I'm saying that moving a player in the order may affect his performance, and provided the quickest, easiest example of such that came to mind. It was just a bonus that it involved the very player that Topper suggests would still rake if moved to 8th. And before you cite "small sample," how many games worth of diminished production would you be willing to live with? Were you okay with the Braun/Fielder switch because it was a "small sample" (twice)? If memory serves, pretty much this entire board was in a tizzy over the Braun/Fielder switch, and the general outcry was "switch them back!"
  18. Well Ryan Braun would also be raking from the 8 spot, just less RBI and runs scored Perhaps. Perhaps not. Twice now, Braun and Fielder have been switched in the lineup and both times, they both fell off dramatically.
  19. It's definitely "Luke." I'm kinda with RR on him hitting 8th. If it ain't broke, don't fix it... and it definitely ain't broke.
  20. I have now officially lost 200 pounds, and still losing. It's been quite a ride.
  21. My garage floor and a part of my driveway are collapsed from the evil little creatures. Make them go away, by any means necessary (and I'm an animal lover).
  22. I think they could get rid of the DH, but the union will want something in return. The union's take has always been that the DH position extends the careers of some players. I'd offer the union the following: a) all playing fields will be natural grass b) all stadiums built beginning (date) will have retractable roofs These moves would quite possibly extend the careers of many more players than does the DH, would eliminate rain-delays/rain-outs, make ALL players healthier and happier, and quite likely increase revenues for the owners. Win/win/win
  23. I'm also in agreement. Let Rivera be Wolf's "personal catcher," let Lucroy start every game not pitched by Wolf, and let Nieves go.
